Bought this a couple of weeks ago. Called Swiss Cottage, my local store, arrived 24 hours later. Love the sound quality, much richer tones and better clarity from my entry level LP 60. Solid build and platter, looks great, very happy with it so far. My vinyl collection will be getting a full run out! Another excellent transaction with Richer Sounds!

Amazing turntable both beautiful to the eyes and ears.

I am fairly new in the turntable arena now but was big into it as a child then cassettes and cds took over this unit is beautiful sounding and looking has very good weight and very sturdy, Can tell the build quality is top notch and the finish is just beautiful. I miss the Bluetooth but can always add an adapter for that I run this into a ink 310 through the aux port using the turntables built in phono preamp. I had the 60xbt before this and returned it it sounded great but was all plastic but like I said it sounded great until I hooked this one up improved stylus carbon tone arm just very pleased with the purchase. Give it a look I doubt you will be disappointed

Can't be beaten for the price or a good deal more.

I have had this a few weeks now and I am delighted with it. I bought it to replace my old Rega Planar 2 which I bought new in 1981. Eventually though the anti skate went and the wiring was a bit iffy. I originally replaced it with a Project Carbon Evo after reading many rave reviews and to say I was disappointed was an understatement . I found it lifeless and dull and at £499 frankly over priced. Fortunately for me it failed after two months and the large online retailer gave me my money back. Something drew me to the AT so I ordered one online and it duly arrived. When it was unpacked it felt a little light weight and flimsy but I persevered and plugged it in and turned it on firstly with a fantastic Archiv recording of Vivaldi's Four seasons which I had bought ... MoreI have had this a few weeks now and I am delighted with it. Then I moved on to an equally old copy of Joni Mitchell Blue and again was massively impressed hearing instruments I hadn't heard in the intervening 41 years. Bearing in mind the AT was £180 cheaper than the Project theperformance was even more pronounced. It could be that it just complements my Amp and Speakers Marantz 6005 and Bowers and Wilkins 602 S3 and the pairing is a happy accident but I genuinely believe it's the turntable. Go and have a listen you won't be disappointed.

Excellent sound, well made and easy to set up.
6 October 2022

I bought this deck as a replacement for my 30 year old Technics deck that had finally stopped working after so many faithful years. I don’t play that much of my old record collection these days as I stream most music , so I was reluctant to spend a large amount on a new turntable. I am so very pleased with the results from the Audio-Technica deck that I played my entire record collection over a weekend and was very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend this deck to anyone who wants a cost effective solution that gives excellent sound quality.

Great turntable
5 May 2023

Toyed with this or Project or Rega Planar but went with this as didn't want to remove the turntable to change the speed. The turntable looks amazing, its solid and easy to set up watching the online youtube video. Sounds amazing, I have it linked to a Rotel Tribute A11 and Dali Oberon 5. The only strange thing is the Amp hums loudly when the ground wire is attached, and is fine when it is removed, which is the opposite of what the ground wire is supposed to do. Vinyl sounds great again.

Kevin's review of AT-LPW50 Belt Drive Turntable - Black

Pros: As a former DJ that used to own a pair of Technics 1210s, I was curious to how good this record player would be. I was just looking for something no frills, to play records on during the evening so I can experience that full meaty sound you get from vinyl. I was pleasantly surprised with this record player. Setting up the belt and arm was very easy (using a handy youtube video I found). It was ready to go in about 5 mins. The sound through my NAD amplifier and Dali Spektor bookshelf speakers is phenomenonal. It has been wondeful rediscovering how great music can sound when played on vinyl. The sleek design delivers the minimalist no frills look I wanted and the unit appears solidly built. Nice TT with both looking and sound
12 January 2022

The AT-LPW50PB is my original pick before we notice LP5X, choosing direct drive or belt drive is always a debate. Glad that B&H is short of their stock on LP5X, it makes me a lot easier to go with LPW50PB, lol.The straight carbon-fiber tonearm is amazing, at least feeds my aesthetics. The black piano finishing surface is nice and clean. The overall looking is undoubtedly firm and gorgeous.Talk about the operation and sound. Even though it's a fully manual TT, the initial calibration and play are super easy. It always makes me feel good to make my music by hand. The sound is perfect to me (I accompany the TT with a Marshall Stanmore II).The service of B&H is top-notch, the online order pick-up only takes a couple of minutes. Glad they have a free parking lot ... MoreThe AT-LPW50PB is my original pick before we notice LP5X, choosing direct drive or belt drive is always a debate. Platter is warped - otherwise good unit
11 March 2020

I purchased this based on all of the good ratings that it had received. I have a 1970s vintage Technics SL-Q2 and thought that it was time to upgrade. The unit is well constructed although the base looks a little plasticy. There is a QSG with it but that really doesn't cover much. You have to download the instruction manual. While not a big deal, it isn't so voluminous that it couldn't be packed with the unit. Among the goodies contained in it are 1. The feet rotate to enable you to level the unit. I had tried without reading the instructions and since they were very tight, I didn't proceed. 2. If you want to use the USB out on the back of the unit, the selector switch must be set to LINE NOT PHONO. Seems a little counter-intuitive. If you want to use the USB out on the back of the unit, the selector switch must be set to LINE NOT PHONO. Seems a little counter-intuitive. How hard would it be to label the switch Phono on one side and LINE/USB on the other? Not difficult and would certainly save a lot of phone calls to tech support. The one thing that irks me about the unit is the fact that the platter is slightly warped. No matter where you view it from, when it reaches a particular spot on the platter, you can see it dip. Tech support requested proof of purchase and videos. I received an email back from their service manager telling me that it was within spec and that maybe I was being deceived by the strobe light on the side. He went on to say that most of them that are returned for this issue are within spec as well. I've owned turntables since 1965 (a LAB 80) and this is the first turntable that I've ever seen with a warped platter. Be that as it may, it still plays and there is no audible result from the warped platter. It is just ANNOYING to look at.

Stylish, Refined with warm rich sound. Impressed.

Spent quite a while trying to figure which turntable to get. I was set on AT Brand. Looking at the LP120XUSB, LPW30TK and LPW40WN. My decision was to have a good stylus out of the box. The design needed to simple yet elegant. As the unit will sit in full view it in needs to have presence of quality, when static or in operation. The unit is impressive, it replaces my 25 year old Bush Mtt1. The sound is purer with warmer tones. It is significantly heavier coming in at around 5Kg. The movement and refinement is great quality and deserves it status on the top tier of hi-fi cabinet.Down sides the plastic dust cover, it is required, but brings the looks of unit down a tad. If you flip it over, it wouldn't look out of place on the bottom shelf of the fridge with salad ... MoreSpent quite a while trying to figure which turntable to get. I was set on AT Brand. The unit has external transformer from the wall socket which is good, the downside is it makes the wall socket rather bulbous in relation to other plugs. As I like to hide plugs I needed to modify my setup to accommodate it.

The LPW50PB is, aesthetically, a very attractive turntable. Beyond that, its operation is very smooth, taking up speed as fast as the direct drive I had previously. A check on both 33 and 45 speeds show it to be extremely accurate. Set up is easy out of the box and the supplied cartridge is better than I thought it would be. The VM95E is better than the basic 95E I had some years back and is almost as good as the AT100E I previously had, at double the price of the VM95E. So I will continue with the supplied cartridge till it needs upgrading or replacement. The operation and sound of this turntable is reminiscent of the Thorens TD150 I had in vinyl's heyday and I recommend it.
