I am very impressed by this turntable as it has all the features I want. It is quite easy to set up though connecting the stylus unit can be tricky. I like the semi-automatic function as it means I control how gently the tone arm is lowered. The whole unit is wider than some models so check that you have room for it. Direct drive at this price is very good. Highly recommended.

In my opinion, this is the best budget turntable, especially for anyone in a dorm environment. The setup process was easy, and I was up and running in minutes. The Bluetooth functionality on this turntable is amazing. The support for the aptX codec turns what might otherwise be a gimmick, into one of the best features I've ever used in a turntable. I live in a dorm, and so trying to get a good audio setup is tricky with limited space. Because of this, my turntable has to live across the room from my desk. This is fine for playing over speakers, but if you don't want your roommate to hate you, you better have a way of using headphones. By using my Sony WH-XB900N headphones with aptX support, I can listen to my records with no noticeable quality difference to my ears. ... MoreIn my opinion, this is the best budget turntable, especially for anyone in a dorm environment. Any headphones or speaker with aptX support should sound just as good as well. The bitrate allows for better sound than a 320Kb/s MP3, which means that 99% of listeners won't be able to tell a difference between wired and bluetooth. The range is great as well, I can walk all around my dorm without having any kind of dropout. The availability of this turntable in big box stores makes it even better, knowing that I can get a new stylus if needed without having to order online. The ability to switch to a phono output makes this a fantastic table for an audiophile in the making as well, it can grow with your setup if you want to use your own pre-amp at some point. My only gripe at all is the majority plastic construction. However, it doesn't feel cheap, and at this price point you have to compromise somewhere.

I use the at-lp140xp turntable for audiophile purposes only. Sounds crazy, right? Let me explain:The sound quality of the at-lp140xp is superb. It presents music in a three-dimensional, enveloping way. It manages to sound clean and detailed at the same time.I was listening to my Twchnics sl-100c for the past month. I plugged in the at-lp140xp instead and it felt like a veil had been lifted from the music. The at-lp140xp sounds much better.I also compared it to the sl-1200gr. Again, the at-lp140xp sounds much better. We're talking night and day difference.Yes, Technics has better build quality in some regards. And yes Technics may have the best speed accuracy in the world. But their audio quality is lacking. That's the whole point of buying an Audio component ... MoreI use the at-lp140xp turntable for audiophile purposes only. Sounds crazy, right? The at-lp140xp has better cueing and the start button feels better than my Technics. To surpass the sound of the at-lp140xp, I believe you'd have to buy the Technics sl-1200g/gae for $4k.Please note that the cheaper at-120xp is nowhere near as good as the at-lp140xp. Also do not compare your experiences with previous Audio Technica models in the distant past. The at-lp140xp is way different, much improved. My only gripe are the aesthetics, and I hope someday Audio Technica makes a direct drive turntable that sounds like this, without the dj furniture. I have the at-lp5x (which I also got from B&H), but the at-lp140xp is more fun to listen to. The at-lp5x looks better though.

Having used stereo since rearly days I have run the course and in my later years I want easy and reliable equipment. I am sometimes a little shakey so I wanted auto not manual. I have had a manual turntable in the past, they are great but, for me now, the Auto was the answer. I looked the field over and found Audio Technia just what I wanted for the price. Good choices of cartridges to choose from.
Picked these (2) up originally as a gift for a friend who passed away recently. He never got to use them. I added to my collection of DJ turntables and think of him every time I light them up (miss you Mike)Way better than the 120xusb which is almost a toy compared to the original 120.Electric brake is a little wonky on one. The platter is dampened but rest of the deck not really. Metal plate inside to make it feel more solid but mostly plastic. A lot of cut corners compared to the T 1200. It's made by Hanpin.A super OEM. The Included cartridge is fair, better than the one that comes with the 120. Upgraded to ortofon immediately.I own many decks from Gemini to Technics. This is right in the middle. I would recommend if you are on a tight budget.
I was excited to receive this turntable (AT-LP60XUSB) as a Christmas gift in 2022. Life gets in the way and I finally pulled out my albums this spring (2024) and attempted to give it a go. I have yet to hear any sound from it. I have attempted to connect this to my Mac Mini, a Windows laptop, directly to a SONOS 5 speaker (I had to purchase the speaker). I have watched hours of how-to videos, and tutorials, and even made a call or 2 for help. I give up! It's not worth the frustration and now the $ I have spent dealing with a product that, based on my personal experience, is sub-par for my needs. I'm pitching it and will try a different brand.
In general this is a great turntable for the money.Just a few details that could easily have been made better for almost no extra cost.Main one being the lever to lift the arm, which being a fully manual turntable is a simple, but key component.I find it an odd design flaw and a huge omission in the production of what is basically a great turntable. The lever dilemma being addressed and the change from plastic to metal for the strobe housing and start stop button would add a huge improvement to the design with minimal cost.Imagine people might even pay a little more to have those features improved.I know I would have.
the tonearm drags across the first song on the record, than skips in place. Adjusting the screw seems to only vacillate between not touching / playing to skipping. It seems a design flaw that there is not an adjustable counterweight, though I wonder if the problem is a defect in the stylus. the condition of the record makes no difference. Simply unplayable.
I did quite a bit of research on turntables. I was considering the Pioneer DJ PLX-1000. I just wanted a turntable for home use, to use with my (2) 120W mono amplifiers configured for stereo.I am using a DeLisle V2 Speaker switch box, having one amplifier driving one speaker and the other amplifier driving the remaining speaker. I am using one of my Android phones to drive each amplifier, one with right audio and one with left audio.I received the turntable within a couple days. It was double boxed. The packaging is incredible. There's lots of styrofoam packing material to secure the turntable in the box and and everything is secured with tape.I was initially concerned that the top cover might be cracked but it wasn't. Instructions are included in the manual as well as videos online to make set-up very easy.Set-up includes mounting the platter, platter cover, cartridge & stylus (included), counter weight, balancing the tone arm, setting the tracking force and anti-skating force. I had it all set-up within 15 minutes. What I really like about this turntable is that it has all of the features of the Pioneer PLX-1000 plus additional features that the PLX doesn't have.1, Dual Start/Stop Buttons2. Start Control Speed3. Brake Control Speed4. Reverse Direction5. 33/45 & 78 Speeds (78 not included on the PLX-1000)6. Cartridge & Stylus Included (Not included in the PLX-1000)7. Line/Phono switch (PLX-1000 is phono only)8. USB output to play & record records into digital format (Not capable on the PLX-1000)This is a direct drive turntable. Included is a right angle stereo phono cord, line power cord, USB cord and manual. The Audio-Technica AT-1240-USBXP is around $100 cheaper than the PLX-1000. I highly recommend this turntable. It comes with a AT-XP5 DJ cartridge. You can always change it to another brand of cartridge. The cover is not hinged. This is a manual turntable & no auto return.
I'm really impressed with this model Audio Technica turntable. They have obviously addressed some of the flaws found in certain earlier year models. I love the fact they used a mass dampened solid cast aluminium platter which greatly reduced motor rumble and helps in overall sound quality. Having the arm height adjuster counter sunk into the plinth is another big plus. The build on this model is very solid and feels very well made having a steel plinth and a nice heavy duty rubber/plastic compound bottom shell casing is great. It simply adds up to less noise especially when being used in a club atmosphere where the bass is booming. It has plenty of torque and solid platter mount making the platter feel very stable if you are one to want to do some scratching. It has plenty of torque and solid platter mount making the platter feel very stable if you are one to want to do some scratching. The painted black S shaped tone arm and Gimble suspension seems nice and solid as does the arm weight adjuster which fits nice and tight on this model. You also have a little more anti skating control going up to 7 grams backforce instead of the standard 3 grams. Having more speed controls adding a 78 rpm speed and having plus or minus 8,16 or 24 % is nice to have and even adding a reverse feature just to add to the many features this unit has which is quite a few more than standard which also includes a nice heavy gauge power cable and a heavy set of RCA plugs with a ground wire integrated into it,both being removable making it easier to pack up for any road gigs you will take it on. Just having them removable is a big plus making it much much easier to replace if ever need be. This model comes with a nice Audio Technica stylus and cartridge which is removable making it easy to put your personal favorite cartridge on this unit and to top it all off it comes with a nice clear dust cover to keep in clean when not in use or to cover while listening to your records as some do. The mounting feet have a nice feel to them too, supportive but also made for a little movement should you barely bump it while playing accidentally. Over all this model is very solid and filled with features any Dj would be happy to have from top to bottom and has amazing sound quality which is clean and clear out the back of the player to connect to your favorite mixing board or home audio receiver amlifier. I'm very pleased with this model and consider it a great deal for the money.
