Austral Fold Downs have more line space for greater drying flexibility and fold down to a tiny 6-8cm side profile. The side arms are all tubular steel including the front bent corners to ensure strength and durability. All Austral Fold Downs are supplied with pre-assembled side arms to make installation a breeze. Austral Fold Downs may be reduced in length by shortening the front bar during installation. Whether you have a large or small space available, there is a Fold Down to suit you.

The item is of excellent quality. We were concerned about its ability to hold the weight of large washing loads but it has handled a large load quite well.I have one suggestion: We have installed it on a sandstock brick wall. The bricks are uneven by design. The support screws span 3 rows of brick and unfortunately the middle row protrudes on both sides. This prevented the screws from working without some packing being added under the lower screws. Some packing material in the kit to help with this would have been very helpful.

Should have done this years ago. We have the typical hoist dryer in the lawn area but we also had a multitude of stand alone, fold up dryers cluttering the house and the veranda. Placed the new Austral Addaline under the veranda and cleaned up the clutter. When not in use it's neatly folded against the wall. Very happy; easy install and adjustable width to fit where it needed to be to achieve max line space for the available area. Who says you can't have two main clotheslines?Get yourself one now and make everyone happy.

This has been fantastic. It was very easy to install - we have weatherboard and had made sure that the line was fixed in correctly. Actually fitting the line so that it is tensioned correctly was probably the hardest bit. It. Is extremely easy to put down, use the shorter or the larger version which was the most important thing to me. The colour was also great for out property so good to have had those choices.

As an installer of other clotheslines in the industry which use to be Australian Made but now made overseas I was excited about providing what I thought was a quality Australian product (after reading the reviews online) to my client which I thought would be easier to install as it was not the cheapest product on the market.I was in for a Surprise as the product instructions were very poorly written and covered many different clothesline designs and no packing list specifications, the fasteners included for a masonry wall were under engineered and the mechanism for locking clothesline into position was not reliable despite being level - one side would lock but not the other. The time to install this product was a lot longer than expected as it turned out the box ... MoreAs an installer of other clotheslines in the industry which use to be Australian Made but now made overseas I was excited about providing what I thought was a quality Australian product (after reading the reviews online) to my client which I thought would be easier to install as it was not the cheapest product on the market.I was in for a Surprise as the product instructions were very poorly written and covered many different clothesline designs and no packing list specifications, the fasteners included for a masonry wall were under engineered and the mechanism for locking clothesline into position was not reliable despite being level - one side would lock but not the other. The time to install this product was a lot longer than expected as it turned out the box contents included two front bars for the Addaline 35 clothesline that were the same length when the inner and outer clothes lines fit inside one another bolted together. This must have been a pre-christmas packing error in the Factory. Austral never replied to my email on the product issue and I would never support this company again. The product is produced with the lowest cost in mind and not ease of installation or the customer experience. Don't be fooled by the Australian Made badge as the old one removed was twice as heavy and much much sturdier.
Disappointing, I had expected a better quality product. We have resigned ourselves to the fact we will probably have to replace it again in a few years. The locking/holding system is flimsy, just a screw on the outer arm, that takes a bit of fidgeting to get it engaged, you just can't lift it so it locks in place, but one has to fiddle around to get it to work. And of course screws over a while can move and loosen a realistic failure point in the future. So overall we are disappointed. And despite using spirit levels and straight edges, still hard to get it near level. And just 2 Philips head screws each side to hold the brackets was also a reflection of the product. So yes we are disappointed.
I have used an Lifestyle clothesline for over 10 years at my previous address. At our new address I have installed one myself with easy to follow instructions. We chose Addaline fold out with a small frame for a small size wash and the larger frame for a large wash. The unit lifts up and folds out and after use can be lowered back to the wall freeing activity space. It replaces the rotary unit we have in the back yard which is right in the middle of the back yard and "in the way" of playtime or any future development. The quality is inherent in the painted steel frame and it's made in Australia which is what I look for.Ivor Otley Reservoir Victoria
The clothesline is functionally and aesthetically an immense improvement on our old metal wall mounted line that we inherited with the property. It was very pleasing to be able to order it in Dune, to match our exterior paint scheme. Lifestyle Clotheslines need to lift their game in terms of their dispatch time and communication around delivery (waiting over a month is not fair) however I do appreciate their apology.
I loved the colour choices of the Austral Addaline range - we were able to grab one in Monument, which perfectly matches the Colorbond roof we just completed!Installation was reasonably straightforward. Pretty much what I expected - it wasn’t a walk in the park by any stretch, but then, this is a pretty big clothesline affixed to a brick wall! But the instructions were reasonably clear, and once the brackets were up on the wall, it was simple from there to thread the line. Now that it’s up though, it’s incredible. Great size for our family of five, good line spacing, looks beautiful - and the folding mechanism works really well too (we put it up and down every day). A fantastic addition to our recent renovations that has freed up a great chunk of space in our ... MoreI loved the colour choices of the Austral Addaline range - we were able to grab one in Monument, which perfectly matches the Colorbond roof we just completed!Installation was reasonably straightforward. It certainly is a good size clothesline so it required two people to install it. It functions well however, the instructions provided weren't easy to follow and we took a guess a couple of times. Unfortunately, we've had to order another 40 metres of clothesline wire as we used the cord provided for the big and small frames, but realised AFTERWARDS that we couldn't fold the frames separately. We wondered why there was cord left, but the cord needs to be fed through the large and small frame SEPARATELY. Also, the screws and wall plugs provided for this size folding clothesline was not suitable as it would not provide adequate support attached to a wall. The product itself is great, but the instructions need to be reviewed (wording and adding illustrations would be ... MoreIt certainly is a good size clothesline so it required two people to install it. A few issues. Instructions could be easier, the images made it quite difficult to work out what to do. Our cord didn't go as far as we needed so we had to tie an awkward knot at one end. We put it at the recommended height but I cannot push it high enough to click and release down so i need a stick to push it higher. The cord is quite close together clothes don't dry as quickly. Our ancient crappy one was better but this looks good. 😬
