I use it on my 68plate civic, which has black shiny diamond cut wheels. This is very good for this reason it's a mild product. But works well, there is a problem though. Halfords only sell this product in a box, with 2 little brushes. Nice for the first time buying it..? At £20 a go its expensive buying it from them. They don't just sell the product on its own ie without the brushes ( which I have 5 sets of myself at present and i use them for cleaning my engine areas. My car has silver alloy wheels which look great when they are clean but spoil the look of the whole vehicle when they are dirty, (its like having a smart suit with muddy shoes)! The cause for the poor appearance is a rapid build-up of black brake dust which is difficult to clean off by conventional means, especially on the rougher parts of the wheel between the cast alloy spokes. A friend gave me a bottle of 'AUTO GLYM CUSTOM WHEEL CLEANER' and said "try this, you wont be disappointed". He was right - it was so easy to apply and just rinsed off with the water from the hose - a quick buff-up with a rag and the wheels looked like new. It really does what it says on the bottle!

Quite disappointed in this product. The Polar Blast is awesome, so I thought I'd try this, but it doesn't work as well as Meguiars or Turtle wax products, yet it's more costly. Thought I'd try it, but won't be buying again
I brought this recently from the Bannister Rd Supercheap store because the one I usually buy wasn't in stock .This bottle was full to the brim of disappointment. I have a VW Passat that makes a fair amount of brake dust and I was doing my weekly clean of the car, sprayed this stuff on all 4 wheels let it soak as I am used to with good quality cleaners then used the pressure cleaner to spray it clean, once I had finished only the light brake dust was removed the wheels still looked filthy. I thought something was wrong with the contents of my bottle so I took it back to supercheap for a refund. They said I was using it wrong " you have to agitate the dirt on the wheels and scrub it hard. Supercheap refused my refund which I'm shocked at to be honest I've never taken a cleaning product back before I genuinely thought something was wrong with it, they should of refunded me on good will at least.
Very easy to use, and produces really good results if you follow the instructions. Probably best to use something softer than a toothbrush to work it round - I use a soft wheel cleaning mitt that seems to minimise the surface scratches. Oddly it changes colour (like Magma) when it encounters iron particles, which I didn't expect with this.
Have been using this as my “fancy” cleaner and it always surprises me. Only thing is i find i use a lot and go through it quite quickly so it is a bit pricey in that regard.If you have any rubber tyre stickers this is the best for them. For tyres, rims, tyre stickers, even does alright on brake calibers.Just do one wheel at a time and you will not be disappointed.Literally watch it pull dirt out of your tyre.
not the best product i used. not strong at all. even though i had a fairly dirty set of rims, i had to spray two applications and used a brush and it still wasnt as clean as i thought it would be. it doesnt eat the grime away very effectively. it got the job done, however. Ofcourse, the whole bottle was used just in that one hour.i used the OEM bmw wheel cleaner and its a far superior product. its more expensive, but lasts alot longer and is a much more effective product. would recommend picking it up from your local bmw dealer over this one. Ask for a discount on the product they might reduce the price a little bit. (original price is $25)
I love this wheel cleaner. Very strong but safe on all wheel types. Foams up very well and works quickly to remove brake dust and dirt from the wheels and also the tires very well. I always keep my shelf stocked with Autoglym products. They have the best auto detailing products that you can get locally.
After trying a couple wheel cleaners I heard good reviews about this brand. I recently tried this wheel cleaner in different ways on my GT350 which produces pretty heavy brake dust. Once sprayed on you can see dirt and brake dust coming off but it requires a lot of agitation. It does not clean tires very well though. I do not recommend this for sports cars or cars that produce a lot of brake dust because it leaves a lot of spots and visible and uncleared brake dust behind. This would be a decent wheel cleaner for Family vehicles that don’t produce a lot of dust. This cleaner looks better on silver wheels than any other colour.
