Considering how much I like Avène Radiance mask, especially during winter time, with retinol use and following procedures, I bought Cicalfate right after I started my Exilis sessions, and it’s truly not bad!It’s fairly hydrating, it’s not greasy or sticky and the skin absorbs it quite nicely!Good for sensitive or sensitized skin!I gave it 3 stars, however, because I know I won’t be buying it again!

I rarely write reviews but this issue was important to me. Just received the Cicalfate+ Hydrating Skin Recovery Emulsion that I was so anxious to try. I've used so many of Avene products over the last several years. Although the Emulsion is pleasant to use and soothes my very red irritated complexion, my reason for the low score is the product arrived in a crumpled box and there WAS NO FOIL SEAL inside the lid. All the other products were fine and the outside shipping box was not damaged. Obviously someone had already dove into this product. VERY DISAPPOINTED. I expected better quality control.

The Avene skin recovery formula was changed, and I did not care for the new line :(. I have a combination skin with dry cheeks and an oily T-Zone. This cream works great for my chin breakout and dry cheeks. I use it every day and enjoy it during the wintertime. Will repurchase. Please do not change the formula. Finally, this emulsion works well for me!

I bought this because I thought it would be like a lighter version of the thick cicalfate that is amazing. It was definitely lighter in viscosity and was thick but it actually stung my skin when I was having extreme sensitivity due to using a high prescription tretinoin. I've never experienced this reaction with the original cicalfate. I'll keep the product but won't use it on my face. I knocked off three stars due to cost, the slimy thick texture and the fact didn't calm my reactive skin.
My skin condition could be really out of control and get breakouts easily before my period. I tried a lot of things and Avene really helps finally! I used the spring water spray, Cleanance Concentrate Blemish Control Serum, and Cicalfate+ Hydrating Skin Recovery Emulsion daily and my skin calmed down and stopped breaking out after 3 days. I will stop everything else and just keep these three skin care from now on.
Excellent crème. Feels super nice when applying. Definitely calms my rosacea. My skin feels good. Looks brighter. Works well with my CC crème with SPF. No piling. A little goes a long way. Think I found my holy grail.
This post procedure balm arrived the day before my scheduled Fraxel and I can’t imagine being without it. It is light and absorbs instantly. Not greasy. Soothes sensitive skin and help healing. Only downside is the product size as I’ve gone through the whole tube in 5 days. I would like to see a supersized version of this wonderful lotion. I suggest a 5 ounce tube.
My dermatologist had me use Efudex (chemo cream) on my chest for 14 days. If anyone has ever used Efudex, you know that any cancerous cells become very aggravated and painful. When I finished the 14 day treatment my chest was basically raw. I used this cream after the treatment was completed and I can’t even tell you how soothing it was, it really did help with healing. I would recommend this to anyone that has to undergo that type of treatment of course verifying it with your doctor, my doctor recommends it. I was a sun junking living in Florida.
The discontinued version of this cream- the Cicalfate emulsion- is a miracle product for my skin. This new version is terrible and something I cannot use. Shea butter, niacinamide, hyaluronic acid etc are simply unnecessary ingredients and unfortunately they cause major irritation to my skin. Overall I’m just so disappointed that is seems like Avène would rather use trendy ingredients than stick to a formula that actually works. I truly hope they just bring back the original.
