I have been a consumer of Aveda for about 30 years now. I finally found the best styling product line for my hair....Smooth infusion. I have curly, frizzy hair. When I want to blow dry it straight these were my "go to" products as my stylist was the one who found the perfect combination. The best was the Glossing Straightener! It was perfect for straightening my hair with frizz control and added shine! When this was discontinued I called Aveda and a consultant assured me that the new line would accomplish the same......what a complete lie. This product line is COMPLETE GARBAGE now! My hair stylist is at a loss as well since you have changed your line and formulas that once benefited many of the salon's clients! Bring back the old formulas and the glossing straightener!

It is very different from the previous formula which I used to detangle and dry my hair with a large paddle brush. This new version does not detangle and is too thick and sticky to disperse through my hair. I was fortunate enough to try a sample through bzzagent, just wish I was sent a bigger sample in order to properly try. Great smell, not clumping or greasy texture, silky smooth, easy to apply. Definitely excited to try since in my area I live we have bad humidity. After applying and blow drying, I could notice less frizz. I also loved how smooth my hair felt, not oily at all like other products. I like to note that ingredients are all natural and plant based which is a huge plus. I do recommend to all that use daily heating tools to styling your hair. Great protection and really does the work of controlling frizz and fly always.

I actually went online to read reviews and see how to use it and the website had terrible reviews from people who used this before the formula was changed. I haven't used this product in the past and don't know what the previous formula was like, but used it today. Combed through my hair, apples product all over my hair then blow dried my hair on high with a round brush. That being said I typically also straighten my hair afterwards because of frizz and I DIDN'T have to do that this time. Now I can still straighten it if I wanted to but honestly my hair was pretty smooth and straight and didn't feel I needed to. Also, when isn't it a plus now to find out a company produces Vegan products? Anyway, I have very long hair, all the way down to my butt, and it's also very sleek (basically will not hold a curl the same day I wash my hair), it has to be the day after and I'll top it off with dry shampoo. But there's so much prep that has to go into it aside from planning when to wash my hair days before a certain event--- spraying ahead of time, spraying immediately after the curl, scrunching it up while still hot to keep the curl nice & bouncy. All this just for it to look amazing right after then completely die in about an hour. But with this heat styling cream, I didn't feel like my hair was being burned/damaged during the process, but actually protected. The texture of the cream is nice and easy to work into your hair, not greasy or oily at all. I also really appreciate that it doesn't leave any residue either on my hands or the curling iron's handle! Nothing more annoying to me than having to consistently wipe it down/having it slip around in my hand where I can get a grip. Last positive thing about it (as I can't find a negative) is how it smells! I can't put my finger on it but it reminds me of a lip balm I had. A little neutral, light, fresh, citrusy without being overwhelming. The cute bouncy curl shown in the picture speaks for itself as it's flexible, playful and most importantly, non-crunchy! Love this product!!
I was excited to try the perfectly sleek hair styling cream because I do blow dry and straighten my hair often. I've tried other products on the market but they don't control frizz well over time like the smooth infusion. The packaging itself is sleek, perfect as a travel companion. I used this product for our island weekend getaway and it controlled my frizz and left my hair sleek and healthy. Most times I'm still left with a bit of frizz and static but with the smooth infusion I found that applying it before blow drying and styling my hair it leaves the end product super sleek with very little to no frizz. I would recommend to family and friends and anyone who is looking for frizz control and sleek healthy hair.

I bought "Perfectly Sleek" as it was the closest description / bottle to Smooth Infusion, "Naturally Straight" and came recommended by the front desk. It. is. NOT. that. It is just... Vaseline in a cream form. "Naturally Straight" was made of voodoo. I could put it around my hairline (the ONLY part of my hair that gets ringlets) and after three applications (normal wash/apply, wash/apply...) it would build up and I kid you not, NOT ONE FRIZZY CURL - not even a WAVE. It was so good, I had to be careful not to get it in the rest of my hair that I would curl with an iron because it would NOT keep that curl. So, I'm using this product mostly because I haven't taken the time (and money) to find a better option yet. I used the Smooth Infusion Nourishing Styling Cream for about the past 7 years, and it was fantastic. Loved it. Recommended it to all my curly-haired friends (who also loved it, and who were also sad when it was discontinued. Side note: Be Curly is too sticky. This stuff was the best for curly hair because it also left the hair soft and moveable.). I was really sad when I heard you were changing the formula. The new stuff is harder to apply. It doesn't "spread" through the hair as easily. And then it's heavier, so when you use more, it ends up looking greasy. Frizz control is not as good as the old formula.
I simply can't understand why you have tried to improve 5 star products. I've been using Aveda exclusively since the 1980's and every single product I use has been discontinued. I took a chance and tried the small bottle of this thinking all these reviews can't possibly be accurate. Well, sadly this doesn't work well with my hair. For the price, it's just an average drugstore quality product. It's not as smoothing as the original version. Please bring back your original versions. I'm currently looking for alternatives to Aveda and there are so many new clean company's available now. Thanks for the many years of great hair.
Please bring the old formula back. I have tried both the perfectly sleek and the perfect blow dry in which I brought back both products to the Aveda Store. thank you for allowing me to return. I found both products made my hair feel sticky and added volume where that is the last thing i need with curly hair. I even adjusted the amount of product thinking that would make a difference with no success. I ended washing my hair again to get the product out of my hair. If I am seeing these results in the winter/early spring there would be no way this would work for the season with humidity. I love the shampoo and conditioner but will be looking for another styling product.
