I have tried almost every single Aveda shampoo and conditioner. I may have a minor addiction but that’s not what this review is about. I tried the sap moss shampoo and conditioner together consistently for a few months. I don’t love the smell. I also found that my hair didn’t feel silky immediately after rinsing the conditioner but there is other aveda conditioners I find are they similar in that regard. I did really enjoy how shiny and soft it was once my hair dried. The only other complaint I have is I noticed I couldn’t go as many days in between my showers and I typically did before. I can’t guarantee that this conditioner was the cause but i’m leaning towards it. I also found this to be quite expensive if you consider the price for the volume of product you’re ... MoreI have tried almost every single Aveda shampoo and conditioner. And I’m very up to date with the prices of all aveda products. Maybe I just didn’t feel this one lived up to the price, unlike many of the other lines Aveda has to offer!

Love the product and I use it daily. I purchase the larger size to save a little money and I literally cut the container in half so I could get the remaining product out of it. There must have been 10 uses left in there! Why is the larger size in a non squeezable container? You can't even squeeze it and varying amounts come out of the bottle. Yes, I can order the smaller size but if they offer the larger one at a somewhat lower price, it seems like a better choice.

Both Aveda Sap Moss Shampoo and Conditioner are amazingly non allergic products for those with sensitivity. Using natural ingredients one can be reassured of little or no allergic reactions. These products are definitely good quality although on the pricey side, but it is a relief for me to find a product that doesn't cause break out on my scalp or skin. I tried allopathic prescriptions previously to no avail, and after trial and error these products were certainly the answer. I also tried other hair care ranges within the Aveda products, also non allergic, but the Sap Moss, especially shampoo gives the hair extra volume/body, and since I have long hair the conditioner prevents the after shampooing knots. I have used Sap Moss for quite some years now.

A childhood memory came to mind of an amazing shampoo & conditioner my Mother used to use but I couldn't remember what it was. After a long search I found out it was the original Aveda Sap Moss! To my surprise it recently came back on the market after being discontinued, so I placed an order & I do not regret it. The new Sap Moss products are still amazing! The conditioner feels luxurious & works wonders on my hair. It's thick, creamy & nourishing. Leaving my hair extremely soft, hydrated & voluminous. A little goes a long way & the scent is still amazing as ever! An earthy, mossy, natural smelling scent that brings to mind being deep in the forest. Overall the Sap Moss Shampoo & Conditioner are the best I have ever used especially when it comes to natural vegan ... MoreA childhood memory came to mind of an amazing shampoo & conditioner my Mother used to use but I couldn't remember what it was. I've purchased this product every 2-3 months for the past 2-3 years and love the conditioner. It's best suited for my hair, and I have a tough time using other conditioners. My one caveat which has made me look for alternatives is the bottle design of the 13.5 oz bottle. The design on this bottle is incredibly wasteful and its a shame that for such an expensive haircare product as this one is, this is the type of bottle they put it in. When you're towards the end of the product, basically the only way to really get the end of the bottle out is by cutting it open. I've noticed as I've cut it open the last 3-4 bottles, there's enough conditioner in there for maybe 4-5 showers. It just won't squeeze through the design of the bottle unless you want to smash it down each ... MoreI've purchased this product every 2-3 months for the past 2-3 years and love the conditioner. I've noticed as I've cut it open the last 3-4 bottles, there's enough conditioner in there for maybe 4-5 showers. It just won't squeeze through the design of the bottle unless you want to smash it down each time you want a miniscule squirt of conditioner. So over time if this is a regular product, its a good way for Aveda to advertise that you're getting 13.5 oz's when really I'd say you're losing a few oz's each time. Which in turn the consumer has to order more product, waste more plastic, and do worse for the environment. With a company so conscious now on environmental impact and sustainability, I'd encourage Aveda to take a look at bottle design and how it can eliminate product waste (if they're okay with cutting into product profits which they SHOULD do cause it's the right thing to do). Not only that, the bottle itself is relatively thick compared to what it is I assume needed for this product.I'm only writing this cause I do care about this product...and with the environment in mind...I am encouraging Aveda to reimagine their bottle design in regards to maximizing the volume out output of what the consumer is actually purchasing, while also reducing plastic waste on the bottle.
I have been a fan of the Sap Moss line since its first formulation. I respected why Aveda changed it years ago & appreciated when they brought it back in a more sustainable way. That said, it is no longer offered in the liter bottles & the largest bottles offered do not allow the product to be easily dispensed. I find I have to almost immediately invert the bottle to allow gravity feed, uncap the bottle to fight to get the product out & as it is consumed it becomes harder & harder to dispense the very thick conditioner. By the last quarter of the bottle so much product is just wasted in the bottle unused. I don't know what clever marketing term this is, but do better, Aveda, because it's wasteful and leaves customers feeling cheated. I don't know what clever marketing term this is, but do better, Aveda, because it's wasteful and leaves customers feeling cheated. The answer is not to add more water & dilute this wonderful product. There are better options you should consider. Bring back the liters for those willing to invest. Consider switching these bottles/containers to aluminum, and opening up the necks to have universal diameter so we can dispense all product purchased (there is a reason masques are in containers that don't have necks). I enjoy the line & the benefits of Sap Moss, but this packaging gets the biggest thumbs down.
Sap Moss is my absolute favorite conditioner. It leaves my curls soft and detangled, and unlike with some of the other Aveda products, I find the scent pleasing. The only request I have is the same as so many others here: Aveda, please put the larger size in a more accessible bottle! Sap Moss is 5-star product in a 1-star bottle. I only buy the small tubes now because the larger bottle is so stiff it's impossible to get the last 1/3 of the product out. And that makes me sad, to buy more packaging than I need. I also wish it came in pump liters - I'd buy that much.
This conditioner is incredible! I can't count how many different conditioners I've used over the years on my thin fine hair that claim they give "weightless moisture", but just weigh my hair down, or dont moisturise and hydrate at all. This product truly feels like weightless moisture and hydration. It really is so hydrating, it blows my mind that more brands don't have a product like this. This is one of the fee things I've tried where the high price point is 100% worth it.I've had far less hair fall out in the shower than I do with other products. I've been using sap moss shampoo and conditioner for almost a year now. I alternate it with other shampoos about once a week.I LOVE the smell and texture of Sap Moss. I don't do well with strong scents. It makes my hair feel amazing especially in dry Colorado.I'll be taking it to the beach this week to see how it does with humidity- I'm sure i'll love it just the same.I don't really notice volume... but then again my hair is straight and fine and doesn't do much no matter what products i use.
I would never buy this product again! I was disappointed when they discontinued the smooth infusion line. After reading poor reviews on the product that was replacing smooth infusion, I was leery of purchasing the new product. So I used the chat box to get help as to which product would give me smooth hair and tame frizzies and possibly add some volume. They recommended sap moss. Based on this I ordered the conditioner. I hate it! It does not leave my hair smooth and smells horrible, which stays with your hair the entire day. It is thick and heavy. I wasted over $50 on this product. I am afraid to try the new smooth infusion, as it got terrible reviews and I don't want to take a chance and waste more money on a product I may not like.
