As someone with very dry skin even more so in the Canadian winter months this oil mist came at just the right time for testing. I absolutely love oils of any kind, whether its for face or body. It's definitely great this product is 98% naturally derived ingredients and doesn't contain parabens, phthalates, silicones, mineral oil, synthetic dyes or alcohol. I love jojoba oil and think it does a great job moisturizing my skin. I have been using this right out of the shower and its been fending off gross, dry winter skin. It absorbs well and within a fair amount of time into the skin and doesnt leave a residue. The packaging could use some improvements. This oil is slightly scented, which is worth noting. I would prefer an unscented product because dry skin can be sensitive and that is who this product is mainly for. But overall, Ive been loving this oil mist and would definitely purchase again!

As someone who suffers from several extremely rare "Photosensitive ( Light ) & Heat Disorders" affecting my skin, I have to be very careful what skin care I use! Often I find products that tick all the boxes by not having Parabens and being fairly Hypoallergenic. But there is great variability in how these ingredients sit and feel on the skin. Even the most neutral/hypoallergenic products feel heavy and block the ability for my skin to breathe! I love mixing it with my moisturizer and applying it day and night. Kudos to the people in the Aveeno Labs for being able to make an Oil based product that does not behave like typical greasy Oil! I'm amazed. Usually beauty products with Oil just fulfill the simple purpose of Moisturizing skin. But the best surprise is that this Oil seems to also tighten my skin. LOVE IT!

So I was really looking forward to trialing the oil mist. As with their other products, this Aveeno oil mist is predominantly a natural product. The main ingredients are oat oil, jojoba oil, soybean oil, and lecithin. It is 98% naturally derived and formulated without parabens, phthalates, mineral oils, and so on. In other words, you can feel confident putting it on your skin. The product comes in a generous 200 ml plastic spray bottle. It’s nothing fancy, but very practical. I’d hate to use anything but plastic in the bathroom when I’m dealing with oil. The sprayer had me worried the first time I used it as I kept pressing down on the nozzle and nothing happened. It took quite a few sprays to prime the sprayer, but it did eventually work. For the first few applications, I had to depress the nozzle very firmly for the oil to spray, but as the bottle began to empty, the nozzle became easier to operate. For small areas of application, the sprayer allows an adequate amount of oil to atomise with each depression, but not so much that you would end up with a mess. The inner tube reaches to the bottom of the bottle which means less wastage at the end. My only concern about the packaging was regarding longevity. Given that the container allows for 1000 pumps, I was uncertain how quickly the oil would deteriorate in a clear, plastic bottle. The directions on the bottle were simple. Spray close to the skin and massage in. Do not spray near eyes or face. In the instructions from Beauty Crew, it added that the spray is best to use after a shower while your skin is damp. I tested it on both dry and damp skin. The oil had a sweet, fruity and nutty scent. When applied to smaller areas, the scent lingered for a while and then dissipated. It wasn’t overpowering and you could easily wear perfume over it. However, when applied to the full body, the scent became overpowering and, to my taste, off-putting. It also tended to be more long-lasting. I decided to only apply the oil at night, as I didn’t want to smell like this throughout the day. I first tested the oil on my dry, sanitizer-raw hands – a challenge for any moisturizer. After rubbing it in, the oil mist left my hands very shiny, but some of this faded a short while later. Initially, my dry patches were unaffected. They felt as raw as ever. Nor was there any immediate change to the appearance of these dry patches. A second application a bit later made my skin smoother. As I continued to apply the oil, the skin on my hands healed and became softer and smoother. I was definitely happy with the result. I also tested the oil over my whole body after showering. I found the oil was absorbed quickly into my skin and there was no shininess. The amount dispensed by the sprayer for the larger areas (torso, back, legs) was too little, and I was only able to apply the oil a small area at a time. While this meant there was no mess, it was a bit frustrating. After the first application, my skin felt softer and a bit sticky, but it was still itchy. If I applied it very lightly, the oil was absorbed quite fast, but I found that for the moisturizing effect, I had to apply it more thickly, and then some stickiness remained. I didn’t mind this as it provided a layer of protection from the cold. I continued to use the oil after each shower daily. At the end of a week, my skin was definitely softer but I still felt itchy. The oil did not irritate my skin, but it didn’t fully get rid of the itchiness. Overall, I do still prefer the cream moisturizers to the oils, as I find they are more effective at getting rid of the itchiness. But this oil performed much better than others I have tried in getting rid of the dryness. I would certainly recommend this oil spray to others for combating dry winter skin, but I would be warning them about the scent. That said, scent is up to individual taste, and others might like the oil’s fragrance.
