I'm usually a huge fan of all avene products however this one is sadly not for me. The gel based formulation is gorgeous on application, but it didnt sink into my skin and left my hand and face feeling a bit sticky. I applied before going to bed and needed to wash my hands to remove the product residue. The positives of this is the hydration is wonderful - my face still felt reminents of the gel cream in the morning almost as if a gel layer or shield was applied. I would use this more of a mask and remove rather than a cream before bed.

A nice gentle gel moisturiser with a light smell of the classic and clean Avene scent. It applied very well and was instantly hydrating. My skin felt plump immediately after application and lasted this was for a few hours. I wish the moisturiser gave a more long lasting hydration though. I feel that in order for this product to work with my skin, which leans more dry and sensitive, I’d need to mix it with an additional moisturiser that is either thicker or more hydrating or a base layer of a hydrating serum or primer. However, I think when the weather gets much hotter in the UK and my skin starts running more oily I could get away with just wearing this product.

The gel sinks into the skin beautifully and creates a brilliant moisturising barrier for the skin. My skin feels so soft, healthy, hydrated, supple and with everyday usage I can see visible positive difference. I use it day and night both times to keep my skin soft and supple. The texture of the gel is so light that it seems like putting natural water on skin. I have used it around eyes to de-puff them. I am very happy with the result.

I was looking for a more hydrating face moisturizer. The consistency of the product is nice, however I don’t think it’s anything special as far as hydrating goes. The reason for the 2 star rating is the smell! It is horrible and it stays with you throughout the day! My eyes stung from it. I recently just found the Avene line through my esthetician and loved what she recommended to me. I assumed if you are purchasing from this line you have sensitive skin like me. I didn’t even bother to read if it had fragrance because the previous 3 products I’ve purchased have not. It’s so off-putting and honestly just stinky. I absolutely can’t use it. To preface I have dry skin and sensitive skin. I don't know what is in this but after applying it made my whole face burn. It also has quite a bit of fragrance in it and I do not like that in a moisturizer and this also probably was another reason for the irritation. I did leave it on my face and after awhile the burning went away. As far as moisturizer goes this was not very moisturizing on my skin. I would not recommend this for very dry skin because there are much better products for a lesser price than this one. This product was a bummer considering I saw a derm talk about the ingredients and how it was supposed to be great for moisture. I went back to my old faithful which is LRP.
I love my Avenue moisturizing cream! It soaks into my skin and makes it feels velvety soft.I wear it under my primer and it gives a perfect base smooth finish. It smooths out those fine lines and dark patches.I have pinkish areas in different areas on my cheeks and it soothes those spots and a couple of dry patches that come about from time to time.I love Avene and have recently made it the base later for my evening routine as well.Thank you Avene for making a product that truly pampers my aging skin and makes it feel more youthful & radiant.
Generally, I really like Hydrance Aqua Gel. The texture is cool gel but has a bit of slip to it so it glides on the skin very easily and spreads well. It leaves my skin looking moist but not shiny. My skin tends to be a bit sensitive and can feel dry at times especially under daily zinc spf. I find this gel does a good job of keeping my skin comfortable all day. My only complaint and reason for docking 1 star is the inclusion of BHT in the ingredients and the added fragrance. However, the scent is barely there and does not linger. I would repurchase and recommend this as I've found successful use for this year-round.
I did not like the scent much. It smelled of baby powder and was strong enough to linger for a bit. The formulation was surprisingly oily and it took a little longer to absorb than my usual moisturiser and upon application, made my face shiny. However not long later, my face ended up still feeling dry and tight. I guess this product is only good for the oilier to normal skin types. I have dry skin so it wasn't for me.
