Avene Thermal Spring Water 50 ml

Avène Thermal Spring Water originates from rain and travels through the Cévennes Mountain aquifer for 50 years before being bottled in the village of Avène. Its soothing and anti-irritating properties have been validated through therapies at the Avène Hydrotherapy Centre, effectively helping with atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, and burns. Numerous studies have confirmed its benefits, including relief from redness, itching, and irritation, and revitalising skin. It is suitable for babies, children, and adults with sensitive skin or eczema. This water stands out due to its unique mineral composition, which is low in minerals and has a neutral pH, containing bicarbonate, calcium, magnesium, and beneficial trace elements. The Pierre Fabre Laboratories have discovered that it also possesses a unique microflora, Aqua Dolomiae, which enhances its soothing properties. Dr. Webster recommends Avène Thermal Spring Water for its consistent mineral composition that softens skin.

Avene Thermal Water is an ultra-fine thermal water mist. It claims to have a unique mineral composition and postbiotics (think of probiotics, they produce metabolites called postbiotics!) in its thermal water which makes it hydrating to the skin. I have dry, sensitive skin and I found it worked best as my first toner in my AM and PM routines. Once I finished cleansing, I would spray this liberally on my face and neck before applying actives and serums. It is also great as a facial mist throughout the day, especially in hot weather, after reapplying sunscreen or powder (applying a mist after powdering gives the skin a 'skin-like' look, not too dewy, just hydrated). The cons: although I loved it, the price for the product outweighs its benefits compared to toners/serums formulated with actives (like hyaluronic acid, licorice root, etc) that softened my skin AND gave it additional benefits. I feel like this product would be great as an 'in addition to' product, but I love my toners and serums being pack full of actives!

I was skeptical at first, but after buying a bottle at Ulta while they had a nice coupon going on I’m convinced that this will be an essential step to my skincare routine! Your skin absorbs other products better when it’s still wet. I love how fine the mist is from this bottle, and it’s literally just nice water. After patting it in it dries within a few minutes minute and leaves my face feeling baby soft and smooth. I also spray before putting on skin soothing toner, then my face lotion, layering while my face is still wet. There’s also no smell to it, so it really is perfect for people with sensitive skin.

I bought this because I needed something water based to spray my face with when I am doing microcurrent at home. The conductive serums and gels required for microcurrent devices to work usually dry very fast and you need to keep re applying them (they are very expensive) - instead I learned that you can spray this water to soften and prolong the serum/gel as it dries. It works amazingly. On its own it is also amazing and hydrating. You can use it after the shower or any time during the day to refresh your makeup. It is so fine it won’t ruin or wet your makeup. Just go from very far! Little word of caution though… kids love this thing… I have to hide my bottle. They think it is a toy! 😂 you need to try this!

I'm aware that this is a can of water, HOWEVER, this water is loaded with various agents that help to balance the skin's micro biome. It's been shown in studies that several varieties of these mineral water mists help in reducing skin sensitivity and aid with hydration. You don't absolutely need these, for sure. But, these are generally a safe addition to skin care routines if your skin is more sensitive, if you have eczema, or rosacea prone skin. I love using these mineral water sprays on my face after shaving, as I am a man. These legitimately help soothe my super sensitive skin, post shave, and are much better for you than alcohol based aftershaves. After this product, I use serum and moisturizer on top. How does this work?!

I don't know how this product works, but it REALLY does. I'm a licensed esthetician and am skeptical of any skincare product that makes bold claims - especially one that's simply composed of water. Since the weather has dropped in temperature and the air has become drier, I've been battling with a flare up of perioral dermatitis. I've dealt with it on and off all my life, but it's tricky to treat. For the last month I've had an increasingly irritated, inflamed, peeling rash on my chin despite scaling back on products and using different soothing treatments. I didn't believe this product would work, but I decided to give anything a shot at this point for some relief. I simply spray this on my face after the shower and immediately top it with a gentle moisturizer at ... MoreI don't know how this product works, but it REALLY does. I will 100% repurchase this and recommend this to clients. You have to try it to believe it!!!

Just get it. It's not a gimmick.

Dude I know it's just water but it's actually so worth it. Little pricey but I would continue to buy I got a full size sample in a box like 2 years ago and I use it very often and has lasted over 2 years. Totally worth the money and I notice a huge difference in my skin. We moved houses and currently don't have soft water and this makes up for it . I have pretty sensitive skin and hard water makes my skin dull and dry. This helps soften it like soft water does. It feel super refreshing and will NOT break you out because it's literally just balanced water.

Such a surprise!

I never thought I would choose to buy thermal water over my collagen mist! I have been using a collagen mist on my face for quite awhile until it went out of stock. I was looking for a mist to hydrate and refresh my skin before applying makeup. I have rosacea so I needed something gentle on my face without any fragrance. This had great reviews for sensitive skin and it doesn’t disappoint. I spray it on after washing my face and patting it dry. It keeps my face from drying out and actually makes it feel softer. My serums and makeup glide on. I use it morning and night and don’t plan on going back to the collagen spray.

Wonderfully refreshing for my incredibly sensitive skin
23 March 2023

I discovered this line while visiting my local Ulta to make a quick pick up of an item I needed for that evening. I have been dealing with very bothered skin that has been so uncomfortable. I tried using a gentle face mist that I already had but it only irritated my face even more with the added bonus of stinging. YAY. I was a light to grab a different spring water mist when I saw this line in the same aisle. I am so happy I gave this a try. I immediately felt relief and have been using this regularly since the day I purchased. My skin has since calmed down so I think I will give other items from this line a try!
