The Avène Tolerance Extremely Gentle Cleanser was gentle, but almost too gentle. I felt that it wasn't able to cleanse as efficiently; I felt that my face still felt unclean afterwards and I always had to follow up this product with a second cleanser. It didn't feel luxurious. The formula felt like a watered down version of a nicer cleanser. The smell was neutral - not pleasant or upsetting - which I liked. Sometimes the overly fragrant products can cause irritations, so it suits the product to not have a scent. It lathered alright, I just needed to use a bit more since it was more of a watery consistency. It didn't break me out. Overall I think the product just needs to be more concentrated, and then it might cleanse better and not be so watery.

This has been a great try. Most products either dry your skin out, leave you too oily or film like feeling on your skin. This product does none of that. I really wasn't sure what to expect with this. It was my first experience with this brand. For reference, I have dry, sensitive skin, and this really didn't do anything for me. I only tried it twice and both times left my face greasy with a weird film over the top. The cleanser works as intended. It removed my makeup and felt like it was cleansing well, until I tried to wash it off. It took longer than normal to wash completely off and then the greasy feeling. It didn't really work that well for me, but it make work better for someone with different skincare needs. I would never not recommend a skincare product because different products work for different people. I rated this 3 stars because it did actually cleanse- which is what the product is for.
