We were hesitant but excited to try something new after having the hardest time transitioning from breast to bottle. After testing them for a full 2 weeks, I’m so glad we did! I’ve had 4 babies in close succession over the years, but one of the only things that remained a constant with each of their very different feeding preferences were the Phillips Avent Natural bottles. One thing that I noticed from this bottle compared to others was that it was easier to heat when warming a bottle to feed my child. However, if the bottle was wider, it would be much more difficult to hold while feeding my child. Therefore, it is a simple trade off:) All in all, we liked the Philips Avent Natural Baby Bottle With Natural Response Nipple as they were easy to fill, pack, and send to daycare, and the solid plastic shell allowed for the bottle, not to bend, slip, and fall from my hand. There aren't unnecessary added crevices that can harbor hidden bacteria and they are so easy to clean and sanitize which saves precious time which you don't have a lot of when caring for a little one. I love the 9oz size of this bottle. This one will last through the whole time your baby is growing, with room to spare. Some bottles only go up to 6-8 oz and as baby starts to grow and take in more per feeding, I don't like to max out the limit on the bottle. I personally like there to be some extra room at the top so it's not at max capacity and able to mix up well, either for the fats in the breastmilk or the powder for the formula. I can't rave about Avent enough. I like the shape of the nipple. It helps open baby's mouth into a great position that seems to mimic the same lip placement as the lactation consultants have taught me to strive for when latching baby on to the breast. It helps keep that same form when doing a feeding from a bottle so baby doesn't have to unlearn anything. I absolutely recommend this.

I think flow 3 is more like the old version of the size 1 nipple which is for 1m+ old babies. The flow 3 nipples on this set is too slow for my baby as she is currently 7 months old and was never a strong drinker. I do like that the nipple doesn't leak milk which is less messy and there's a decreased chance of overfeeding. I found that the flow 5 nipple for 6m+ olds works best for my baby as she needed a faster flow. I want to mention that the old model and current nipples and bottles are interchangeable with each other.Another feature that I really like is that the bottles fit my pump flanges! I love that I can pump directly into the bottle instead of bags and also use the bottles as storage. I purchase the Philips Avent sealing discs separately and use them to store my breast milk in the bottle which has a large 9 oz capacity.One con about the bottle is the numbers on the side are a bit hard to read. While the current bottle design is more attractive, the older version was easier to read due to the larger bright blue font. The current version has a smaller light gray font and I need to bring the bottle closer to see how many ounces of milk is left.I highly recommend the Philips Avent Natural baby bottles for parents looking for a bottle similar to breastfeeding that is also easy to assemble and easy to clean. I use these bottles multiple times a day and am so happy with them. The bottles also last long and hold up well and I sterilize them everyday.

I question whether the higher level nipples would work well for paced feeds with a breastfeeding baby, but I appreciate the multiple options and ability to customize. As advertised the nipple did not drip, which is an absolute requirement for me. My baby doesn't have any current issues with colic or reflux so I can't comment on whether this bottle makes any difference with that. The amount of gas introduced seems to be no worse than any other bottle based on his burps after feeding. The only negative I would identify for this bottle itself is that it is too big, especially for a breastfed baby, which this seems to be targeting. My baby (like most who exclusively breastfeed) never takes more than 5 oz at a time, usually 3-4. A bottle this large is overly bulky, wastes milk with a larger interior surface area for milk to cling to, and encourages overfeeding. I would never buy a 9 oz bottle (or 11, which they also make!), and frankly, as a pediatrician and lactation specialist, I wish manufacturers would not sell bottles larger than 6 oz for the above reasons. No shaming intended for parents who use larger bottles for whatever reason, only my personal and professional opinion. So if I were to buy this line of bottle for myself or as a gift, I would stick with the 4 oz version that comes with the level 2 nipple (maybe adding on a level 1 to try out). That combination I would happily recommend because it is overall a good bottle!

Its 3 piece design is easy to clean and assemble. I especially like the no drip design and anti-colic valve. Even when I hold it upside down and shake it, nothing comes out.Our baby can drink at his own rate without formula constantly dripping and this significantly reduces him choking especially when he's tired and during dream feeds. The Natural Response Nipple only flows when he's latched on and sucking. The wide nipple shape makes it very easy to latch on and the ergonomic bottle shape is easy to hold.I also like that they offer a variety of nipple flow rates, bottle sizes, colors and even glass bottles.We will definitely be switching over to the Philips Avent bottle with Natural Response Nipple going forward.
The Philips Avent bottles are the only bottles that I have used throughout my sons first year. Before he was born I did research on all brands and decided I liked the Philips brand and thought that their nipple sizes and flows seemed like a great choice as he aged. I have breastfed him from the beginning and would pump to have some back up milk, and milk to take when he was staying with a sitter. Myself, my husband, and all who have watched my son, have had no issues with this bottle or nipple. He has switched perfectly from my breast to the bottle nipple and back. The flow sizes have seemed to work well based off the age recommendations that were given by the company. The design of the bottle fit nicely in our cabinets and diaper bag and did not take up a ridiculous amount of space as other brands can. The amount of ounces (8-9) that each bottle holds is great as I didn’t need to upgrade to a different size later. My son is capable of hold it on his own and I don’t have to worry about leaking or making a mess. I am thankful that the Stellar Product Testing Panel sent us this brand as it is our favorite. I had purchased the glass bottles myself and the Stellar Panel sent the plastic version. Both are able to be used interchangeably and have the same nipple tops so it saves on storage space. The plastic bottles have been hand washed with a bottle brush and air dried. I have no complaints!
My daughter is 6 months old, she is mainly breastfed but it’s been so important for her to learn to use a bottle when I’m not around. It was effortless for her to latch onto the Natural Response nipple which is soft and wide, the familiar shape helped her transitioned well from breastfeeding to drinking with the bottle.The ergonomic design of the bottle made it easy for us (including my daughter) to hold. The large opening made it super simple to clean and reassemble. I think as she is not using bottles all the time, this flow was perfect for her but I don’t know if it would be fast enough for a baby who only drinks from bottles.
