Once you get familiar with the settings on the breast pump I really do feel like it's just a great overall pump. I'd like to try a double breast pump version of this to see if that solved my issue. When I pumped I wasn't able to remove any milk from my breasts, so I tried a previous pump I have and I was able to remove milk. So, I tried this pump again after making sure that all the parts and pieces were assembled correctly and that the settings were correct for my needs and I still was not able to remove any more than a few drops of milk. I will say this pump does seem to have more parts and pieces than other pumps I've used in the past.Overall I would recommend this single pump for mama's who pump while they nurse. It would be convenient for travel.As far as cleaning goes, the pump parts are simple enough to take apart and clean and put back together again. Not too many pieces to fuss with.The downfall of this pump is the motor itself. Without a digital display or words explaining the settings, using the pump isn't intuitive at all. I had to keep referring back to the manual. I don't know if I never got the settings right for my body, or it just wasn't the right pump for me, but I produced significantly less with this pump than the one I normally use. With an infant and an older child, I just don't have time to pump several times a day to produce the same amount as I do in one session otherwise. I tried the the flange kit with my normal motor, and produced as much as I usually do (quite comfortably! Really A+++ on the silicone flange!), so for me, the issue is with the pump motor itself.I would still pack this to travel with if I only needed small amounts of milk while I was away, or had more time to pump. The size and flange are really the highlights of this pump.

For starters, this is my second baby. The first I went back to work at 4 months and pumped at work and when I was away from him until he was 1. I'm doing the same with this baby, but have found it much harder to put the effort into the whole process having done it once already - so anything that makes it easier is wonderful! I used the typical insurance provided pump with my first, ordered specialized flanges in the right size, and made do. The first I went back to work at 4 months and pumped at work and when I was away from him until he was 1. I'm doing the same with this baby, but have found it much harder to put the effort into the whole process having done it once already - so anything that makes it easier is wonderful! I used the typical insurance provided pump with my first, ordered specialized flanges in the right size, and made do. This time I ordered a fancier insurance pump, purchased wearable pumps, bought tons of accessories, was really good about replacing parts after time, did research, learned a lot, etc. But I ended up having more issues - clogged ducts, milk blebs, you name it. I found myself going back to the original insurance pump from years ago because it just worked for me! Something about the speed or frequency and I was able to find the perfect setting that has worked to be efficient and comfortable. I haven't even touched the newer insurance pump in months! I've also used a fair share of hand pumps (including the Philips hand pump, which has a cushion in the flange that I use in other pumps because I love it so much!) throughout my BFing journey. So when I say that I really like this pump, I've got the experience to back it. And with all the issues I've had, it's so important to have a pump that does the job right.Why aren't all pumps using this type of flange?!? The silicone cushions on this flange are amazing. I always used coconut oil to lube the hard plastic flanges so they didn't feel so terrible but I don't see a need for that with these flanges! They are soft, they don't feel like they are pulling my delicate skin off and they are COMFORTABLE! I also appreciate the fact that they fit without needing to buy separate sizes and then have a ton of random unused pump parts around. I think this is huge because I don't know if all moms are aware of the right size for them and might be using the wrong one - hurting their efficiency. Comfort is soooo important!! Cleaning is about what you'd get with other pumps as far as pieces and ease.After two pump sessions I was able to figure out exactly the settings that worked for me and it was as efficient as I'm used it with my older insurance pump. I like that it also has a memory so it slowly goes back to the setting it was for the last pump. Big pros: small, lightweight, quiet. I love that it fits easier in my pump bag than others and the plug doesn't weigh a ton like some pumps. It does, however, have a very strange vibrating noise (as opposed to the dreaded noise other pumps make)... pick your poison I guess? This one sounds kind of like a cell phone vibrating on a table so not terrible.I can't comment on the double pump because I have the single, but I would hope it functions the same as the double - I might be investing in it if we have another baby.The only thing that I would add to this pump is a timer. I think that would be the one thing that could improve it! I received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I wanted to love this pump because of the size and one size fits all flange but it just wasnât what I was hoping for. While the size it a major plus, it doesnât really matter because you need to be plugged into the wall while using the pump. A small pump would be better utilized if you could take it places to use, like the car, restaurants, etc. The light up circles indicating settings wasnât the greatest, maybe it could be okay once you get used to it but I think being able to quickly look at a pump and see what number setting youâre on is more beneficial. It is nice that itâll automatically switch expression settings 90 seconds after you start so if you forget to do it youâre not stuck in the âlet ... MoreI received this product through the Stellar Product Testing Panel. However, I did not find the efficiency of the pump to live up to what I was expecting, it did take longer than I would hope for my milk to start expressing, but once it did start there wasnât an issue. A great feature of the Philips Avent pump is the flange, itâs so nice that you donât have to measure your nipple and figure out what flange size you are; and the flange was super comfortable. Another positive for this pump is the ease of clean up and set up for the parts, it was very easy to set up/take apart the pump and cleaning was very quick. Overall I think this pump would be good for a certain type of mom, if you donât expect to need it when you arenât near an outlet and donât mind the light up setting indicators then it might be a good fit for you but I wouldnât say itâs a must have.

Once I opened it, I fell in love with the silicone flange that fit my nipple! With other pumps I have used, I needed an insert since my nipples only measure 15mm. I have spent tons of money and time just trying to find the right fitting insert, but with this silicone flange, no insert is needed! Philips Avent has made a flange that fits all different sizes since everyone is different. Also since itâs silicone, itâs so comfortable to use, I donât feel like Iâm pumping. Also this is not a wireless pump, but the cord for the plug is extremely long allowing you to have some freedom. The single Electric breast pump really gives me the freedom to nurse my 4 month old and pump on the other side. The motor is small enough to be out of the way while holding my little wiggle worm. Overall this pump worked well once I figured out what expression mode my breast responded best to. I was able to express milk really fast. However, the mode that worked best also hurt the worse. I noticed my nipple and areola being drawn into the silicone cushions which is a fit issue. I know a smaller silicone cushion/flange defeats the purpose of this pump but I believe one is needed in this case. Iâm going to continue and use this pump because I like it overall but Iâm going to try using aftermarket cushions in the silicone cushions since my nipples are on the smaller side.
