This is probably the high tide mark for Azul games. Beautiful to look at, simple in concept yet very intricate in strategy and required flexibility. A modern classic that will never get boring to play.

My favourite version of Azul! This one has so much more bite to the puzzle than the original, however the drafting is a bit less aggressive, so it does end up being less interactive.Beware however that this is much less accessible than the original Azul. The complexity rockets up here.

Azul: Queen's Garden

Different then the other azuls. So not really an azul game. But i enjoyed my plays alot. Still really nice components. Still fun point scoring. Decision mindful moves with drafting of tiles just like in the other azuls. Highly recommend.

Azul: Queen's Garden

Queen's Garden is quickly becoming my favorite Azul. It by far is the most complex with having to match both colors and symbols to maximize points. It is definitely a different game but you can feel the bones of older Azul games coming through.My favorite new mechanic is adding new garden pieces to the board to place more tiles. It can be extremely straightforward, but also strategic depending on what piece you're playing.Overall it is a great addition to the Azul lineup and truly a next step in the games progression.

Azul: Queens Garden

In our opinion this is the best Azul game, there is more to it and multiple ways of scoring. It is totally addictive. We play with 2 players mostly but have played with 3, equally as good. The only negative comment that I would leave is that they could maybe have chosen a different colour for one of the sets of tiles? There is dark purple and light purple and they are very similar in colour especially under subdued lighting. Other than that a totally brilliant game.

Best Azul So Far

This version of Azul builds on all of the best parts of Summer Pavilion but adds additional layers of gameplay and strategy with the modular board that you have to build and the ability to match tiles based not only on colors but on patterns as well. I like that the number of rounds is limited again but I really like that the option to take the first player tile cannot be abused like in previous games. Fantastic game that will get a ton of play time

Completionists or if Azul is too mean

As usual, the components are pretty high quality overall. This is easily the more complicated of the Azul line and the least punishing of the Azul line as well. For those who have played all the other games, you will be using the placement ideas behind Summer Pavilion while still being able to opt out of taking more tiles a la Stained Glass of Sintra. The new style of drafting (new options emerge ALMOST every turn) increases the friendliness of the game and keeps folks from taking too many tiles they can't lose. Unlike the other games, here YOU are fully in charge of your board and any mistakes you make are fully on you. While the drafting portion is interactive, the decisions others make do not have the same level of effect on you as previous games in the line.A try before you buy.

Deepest Azul

Out of the 4 versions of Azul, this one offers the most depth of placement strategy. I still think Stained Glass of Sintra offers the most player-interaction through drafting, but Queen’s Garden makes drafting itself more fun. The slow reveal of tiles you can draft over the course of each round keeps it so you never exactly know what to draft. Queen’s Garden and Stained Glass of Sintra are probably the two versions of Azul that I want on my shelf.

Queen's Garden - the gamer's Azul

I've been a fan of Azul since the original, and have gleefully purchased each version as it's come out, so keep that in mind when I say that Queen's Garden is my absolute favorite. My group and my household play a variety of complexity levels, and while I love simple abstracts I tend to be more of a heavy gamer. While Queen's Garden is not what I would call heavy, it's more of a mid-level than previous iterations and really hits the complexity sweet spot.
