Gate works wonderfully; very sturdy! Very versatile...can use for many things. Only thing I don't like about it is the bar at the bottom of the gate....everybody trips over it and my granddaughter has been hurt quite a few times from falling.

Have used this to block off stairs in a large hallway which has lots of angles so the adaptability of this product was perfect! Took a few days to get the hang of the catch but very pleased with product. Easy to install. It looks smart whilst being practical and keeping the little one where he is allowed to be. I would recommend.

Very pleased with this purchase.We have a multi-fuel fire which sits away from the wall and was not suitable for most standard fireguards, but this works very well. The XL is just the right side to put a safe circumference around the whole thing protecting out ever reaching little one from the heat. Material is of good quality and delivery was fast.Comes with plastic wall fittings which seem good enough. Due to renting I did not want to damage walls though and have simply stuck it in place using the Command picture hanging strips! Little one has been hanging of the guard and no movement has occurred so frame is pretty sturdy.

Ordered this product for our recently installed wood burner to keep our 18 month olds inquisitive hands at bay. Purchased online 4 days ago and it arrived today. Happy with ordering and delivery process.Very easy to install using the onbox app which you download to your phone and gives a step by step guide with videos. There are normal instructions with diagrams provided also. Not many parts to the guard so not complicated at all and when built it fits perfectly round our wood burner. The wall fittings aren't very obtrusive or noticeable and on one side in fact they're covered by our curtains. If you live in a centuries old cottage with an inglenook fireplace and seven grandchildren coming for the Christmas hols this is the perfect fit. It looks good with it's unfussy matt black finish, was a breeze to put together, will keep the children safe from harm AND was from John Lewis - what's not to like! It is so very stylish we may leave it in situ when the children have all gone home and peace reigns once again.Added bonus - next day delivery (click & collect of course)
Horrible packaging AND missing several pieces! Product is very heavy so DO NOT recommend in a multi-level home. Had to bring it up three flights of stairs only to repackage to inconveniently send back as an incomplete item. EXTREMELY upset and disappointed with this purchase and I do not recommend!
Click & collected from our local Waitrose, this fire guard was delivered speedily.It is a good quality item, solidly built & easy to build. Our one year old is starting to walk and we needed to protect her from reaching the fire. This guard does that and more, keeping her safe and standing up to her pulling and pushing on it.It slots solidly to the wall and we can in clip it and use it as a play pen when we need to buzz round and do the housework.Highly recommended.
There aren't many options if you have small children and a big inglenook fireplace, so this product solved our problem at a reasonable price. However, the instructions were deeply obscure and unclear, and there should have been some warning that the plastic brackets are better fitted to a flat wall, not a brick fireplace surround, because the resulting wavy surface makes the metal sections very awkward to put on and take off. Also the gate catch is not one-handed as stated, but fiddly, and definitely needs two hands to operate. Looks great though, and keeps the kiddies out of the flames.
Terrific system for us. We and Grandparents and wanted a system that would work at the bottom of our stairs (we are open plan) and by the kitchen to stop little people disturbing cats and protecting them from hot items. We didn't fix to wall and they (we bought 2) worked really well for us. Our 11month walking grandson who is extremely strong failed to pull them over or get passed. Really pleased with the flexibility too. We will be able to use them outside in the summer to stop the little ones falling down the stairs from our deck.
This is a very sturdy Hearth gate, we have it around our stove, so I wanted it to open enough to put logs into the stove, but not close enough to let a toddler reach through and get burned. It has passed both tests.It is a little tricky to understand the instructions but,study the pictures, yes it's that kind..... make sure you have them all facing the correct way, up or down, the gate will give you a clue, which is probably a good piece to start with.as it has to be positioned correctly. I would recommend at least two people to fit it together or a lot more if they don't read or even look at the pictures, yep, I am speaking from experience, but having said that we got there.
