What a gorgeous rum with so many flavors and a distinct flavor profile from the rest of the Bacardi line. I adore Bacardi Ocho, but Bacardi managed to elevate it with Diez! On the palate and nose, there are distinct notes of banana, vanilla, and a faint hint of cocoa.

For me Barcardi is certainly the gold standard for rum. I’m a bourbon drinker and like to mix it up with good sipping rums. My personal favorite is Diplomatico Reserve and hoped this would compete but sadly it did not. In fact I was a little disappointed. Bacardi Black or Gold are excellent and I would think 10yrs or aging would create a lot of depth and smoothness and it really didn’t. This was no smoother than several regular runs especially Bacardi for a fraction of the price. Don’t get me wrong-this is a good rum and would make an excellent cocktail but that’s not what I bought a 10yr aged rum at almost $40 for. Good but not worth the price. Hope this helps.

Not the normal items many might be familiar with. I tasted the Reserva Ocho Rare 8 year old and Grand Reserva Diez Extra Rare Gold Rum 10 Year. I was stunned, Shocked that I didn't know Bacardi had such fine products. I just hadn't ever been introduced to these items. I really enjoy the 8-Year and buy it regularly. I discovered Reserve Bar and found I could get the 10-Year. It is very nice, I drink both of these Neat. I personally like the slight sweetness of these two rums. I've attempted this in numerous ways. Caesar, Mule, Neat, etc. However, drinks like the Old Fashioned and Mojito that ask for simple syrup or sugar are the most spectacular. Use this rum, and you won't even need to add sugar. Excellent value and a very unusual juice!
I've been buying this item ever since it initially became available. Authentic age declaration, excellent value. Pleasant vanilla and caramel overtones; silky smooth. It's ideal as a sipper, but I've also like it when I spiced it up with a little ginger ale. My favorite.
I've tried this in a variety of ways. Mule, Neat, Caesar, etc. However, the drinks that need for simple syrup or sugar, such an Old Fashioned or Mojito, are the most remarkable. When using this rum, additional sugar is just not necessary. Very unique juice at a fantastic price!
Every time I visit Puerto Rico, I make an effort to purchase a fine, exquisite rum for my famous friends. I've tried everything, including DonQ and Ron de Barbito. I was trying to avoid buying Bacardi since it was "too mainstream"... however, when I tried the Gran Reservada in the duty-free section of the SJU airport. My antennae absolutely popped up quicker than a teenage boy's jonson would when he first saw a nude magazine. The rum is flavorful and smooth, with a blast of oaky, sweet cinnamon, woodsy, and sophisticated flavors, as well as a hint of pirates of the Caribbean swag. I purchased three, one for me and two for my CEO buddies. I haven't yet given it to them!
Never tried aged rums before, but I've always loved a nice mojito. When it came to brown spirits, Bourbon was always my first choice. The smoothness of Bacardi 10yr really amazed me. Will undoubtedly return to this magnificent jewel.
