The Bahco S380 3/8" 38 piece socket set has an effective matt surface which for practical handling purposes is better than a chrome finish. Overal a Brand for quality and longevity.The sockets themselves are hex 6 point as a better fit than the 12 point multi poorer fit which can "round off" nuts.As the ratchet has the finer 60 point/6° fine click mechanism ratchet handle can achieve most lever positions.The sockets are Metric , and Imperial. That allows accomodation fit for damaged nuts. Yes an Imperial socket for a Metric nut. Often an Imperial socket can be used when the Metric does not fit. vice versa.The sockets are standard fit. For deeper sockets consider S1214L.Also consider alternative socket sets Bahco 1/2" sockets for heavy duty leverage, and also the 1/4" socket sets for general small nuts and bolts, howver this 3/8" version doubles up for both and covers most scenarios needing 1/2" or 1/4" torque scenarios.The High Density Polyporpelene robust case is also important as it allows a visual check that nothing has been left behind.The plastic is heavy duty, oil resistant, and the lid closes without having to use the lever locks to give immediate bench access.As with other Bahco socket sets the wrenches and extension sockets use an interference fit to locate.Sometine that interference fit is to much, requiring significant leverage to extract an extension bar from the lid.The lower lid wrenches and extensions have no lugs so that allows instant access.The upper lid internal cover has 4 interference lugs as almost impossible to open, Upper 2 lugs as impossib;e until I tried not just prising but pushing the lugs open away. and full power two fingers around the flap access holes.Those extensio bars in the upper lid also with interfernce fit lugs that require a prising yet little to get hold of.I assume the contrary is true as extension bars would become loose otherwise.For most peices in the lower lid, they have no lug issues and easily selected.With use those lugs will become less of an issue for access to the extension bars held within the lid.The exrension bars steel ball locking give a solid connection to the sockets internal indention.The 3/8" ratchet also provides push botton solid locking of socketsThe universal joint provides solid drive up to 45° as preferable to using "bendy" extensionsOveral a quality well made socket set that covers most sizes, and for most torque situations, with reliability and longevity based on previous use of heavily used Bahco sets.Cannot find better
