I bought a pair of Beoplay EQ earbuds six weeks ago at a B&O store intending to use them on daily walks. They were problematic from the day I bought them, with various glitches, including that the sound would sometime increase to full volume while in my ears. If I turned the sound down, it would simply go immediately back to full earsplitting mode. Then, after 30 days, the left earbud starting consistently switching off about a minute after it came on. Each time I would get it started again, it would simply go off.My effort to get relief under the warranty have been a nightmare, which after some pointless back and forth that seemed aimed at putting me off, now appears to require that I mail the product to B&O in Europe for an inspection before they can tell me ... MoreI bought a pair of Beoplay EQ earbuds six weeks ago at a B&O store intending to use them on daily walks. I really regret this $400 purchase and highly recommend that anyone reading this look elsewhere.

Pros: I think B&O have stopped making this model so the sale price was amazing. However, they are still supported in the app. The quality is superb and so is the sound. I only wanted them for music and they do not disappoint.Cons: If you have other Bluetooth Wi-Fi gadgets going on in your house, I found that getting the buds to connect to the app is problematic. It recognises them ok, but I had to go outside to connect!

Starting with sound quality, highs can be a touch exaggerated, and verging on sibilant and female vocals more forward than reference though this can make them sound more instantly engaging. The bass weight, extension and reverberation is a little less than my cx400bt but it's not bass light - in fact the lesser reverb makes the soundstage feel wider and less closed in than the Senn, which with the tonal balance makes for a fresher cleaner sound. The sound quality of these compared favourably against my reference Sennheiser CX400BT and Sony WF-XB700 earphones.B&O provide an app with an equaliser that lets you change the frequency response. It took me a while to work out but moving the control from left to right increases treble and moving top to bottom increases ... MoreStarting with sound quality, highs can be a touch exaggerated, and verging on sibilant and female vocals more forward than reference though this can make them sound more instantly engaging. Skipping then requires 3 taps which is too much tapping and one can't change the control scheme via the app.You need to touch twice to change volume, presumably to avoid inadvertently changing volume when reorienting them in one's ear but I found that practically I often did change the volume unintentionally because their weight and shape meant I handled them more than the others.Their price was high but is now almost reasonable for the performance and brand and certainly better value than the noise cancelling Sennheiser MTW3 which has a similar upper mid forward sound.

High quality all round!

I gave owner the E8’s, and upgraded to the EQ’s. Very comfortable and very secure fit especially with comply foam tips. Excellent audio quality. I love the automatic pairing as you take them out of the case (like AirPods). ANC is a positive feature, and with upgraded application, these are easy to use.

Wife disapproved of this product hehehe. This product worth 400 bucks? I will say no. If you are an Apple user like me, I guess airpods will be a better option. If you want quality products with no budgets, then don't buy this product. I know B&O makes good speakers, and I personally love their speakers, but just not this earbud...Reasons I don't like this product:1. Fall out of your ears over time. I mean you need to drink/eat, and the facial movements will squeeze out the earbud out slowly, and you need to push it back. Above, I mention my wife dislikes this product, and it is because the stupid function on your right earbud will hangup the call!!! And I don't see a thing that I can disable this function...2. Connection. I am so frustrated when trying to ... MoreWife disapproved of this product hehehe. This product worth 400 bucks? I will say no. Connection. I am so frustrated when trying to connect to my apple devices. When I try to connect to my phone, then it will connect to my iPad or MBP automatically. Yes, this earbud will even connect to these devices when it put it in your backpack... Connect this earbud to my iPhone will be the hardest thing EVER!3. Sound quality. I know you can modify hearing quality via the app, but it doesn't seem so great anyway. Personally, I know I shouldn't compare my IEM to this earbud, but if you spend 400 bucks for this sound quality is kinda questionable. I love listening to folk or rnb, this one ain't the best matching product either way. I saw some YouTubers who reviewed this product, and saying positive things about it, but I stay the opposite side this time.

Really uncomfortable
7 October 2022

Bought it near the beginning of this year to judge if there was any point buying high end mainstream IEMs. The sound is "good" buy wow the bulk of each units make it uncomfortable as there isn't enough reach for the tips to get into your ear before the units divers are being pushed against the the skin around the ear entrance. When IEMs like jabra can get the comfort right at a lesser price and probably many order brands too. And if you don't sit them right in the case it'll scratch the inner case if your not careful. The app is pretty basic in terms of customisation.I would return this if I could.

Unable to review Earphones as we couldn't get them to pair to any device. The app, quick start guide and B & O website were of little help. My daughter and son-in-law also tried but no joy. This was a Christmas present for my husband and a bIg disappointment.

These are great when you work out the wrinkles, repeatedly rejects the link with my phone, however I ignored tge message and trued them and they were linked. Still not happy with the app as a control. All that said the Doune and noise cancelling are good. Used them to listen to an udio guide at a busy art exhibition successfully.Charge holds well, but requirement for Location used up a lot of mobile data unnecessarily
