After getting one today from HN Springvale I am extremely pleased with how the speaker performed for its size. The sound quality was comparable to my much larger Google Home Max.The full aluminium top casing and rubber base construction also provides a solid feel to the speaker. Needless to say that this speaker has got the industry leading 18+ hours music playback time as well as full IP67 waterproof certification.Also can’t fault the APP support! Great so far for sound calibration and software updates! Amazon Alexa is a bonus for good outdoor entertainment use.

The sound, which can be adjusted to your preferences via the B&O app, is clean with an authoritative bass. All types of music shine, and nothing seems to trip up the delivery, there is substantial enough power in the amp to deliver a sound that amazes for the relatively small size of the unit. The only downside is that they need to do some work on the functionality of the app, which is somewhat less than intuitive, and can be a little troublesome. However, this is a minor irritant when set against the quality of sound this unit is capable of producing.

We bought this to play music at a family occasion. It did the job and for such a small speaker it has a good sound, picking up the bass notes as well as the higher register.It's surprisingly heavy for its size but still very portable. Very easy to connect to Android phones, iPhones and our various laptops. We got more volume when we connected a Samsung phone to it, the iPhone didn't generate nearly as much. It's likely this could be down to settings on the iPhone (yet to investigate).I chose this speaker because it has a microphone too so I've been able to use it with my PC for meetings over Zoom. Works very well.

I call it the speaker beep beep of death, which is the alert that the speaker just powered down and lost the connection. It's incredibly stupidly engineered. This is a perfect example of B&O employing engineers or psychologists to run their consumer experience depts versus poets.As to the sound, it's incredibly gratifying, depending on the source. With everything blue tooth, better/ more current tech = better signal = better sound. My laptop from iTunes sounded MUCH better than my iPhone SE. The sound like all things B&O is spot on and balanced versus brighter from something like say Klipsch. It's also well done from the standpoint that you can change equalizer settings from the app, which is very intuitive. I believe they got the app and sound right.The other downside is that the stereo pair often crackles and breaks up intermittently for unexpectedly reasons. All blue tooth signals are only at most 15 feet and in clear paths.Back these go! Why these companies continually put their good names to blue tooth pairing devices without built in measures to improve signal continuity is way beyond me. I would have gladly payed another $50+ each to get a wifi connection, which is infinitely better. Sonos figured this out, so why can't the others???
Top notch sound quality, balanced vocals being the focus. Bass is sufficient and is more than powerful enough to replicate life-like instrumentals/vocals for jazz/classical/rock. Bass is OK for EDM and hip hop, though the real bassheads may find a better option for them in a more bass-focused speaker. Again, the name of the game here is balanced tuning. Orchestra instruments, brass, guitar and texture-rich sound is very nicely replicated, even when it's playing at high volume in the shower (which I do all the time since it's waterproof). Bass will vibrate this speaker off the table though, so be careful with dents. The whole speaker feels awesome with cold metal grill and B&O pendant, rubberized coating, and soft leather string to hold it by.

Uneconomic to do new but a steal for around 2 x 35% new price for 4 -5 year old for Gen 1s (2016-19), or 2 x 50% new price for Gen 2 (2020-). The reviews rate the Gen 2 more user friendly but some prefer the slightly deeper bass of the Gen 1 as its purely mono rather than twin tweeters for 'stereo' but you really need them a few feet apart for proper stereo anyway. Both must be the same Generation of course. Still great in single mono use though. I'd give it 4.5 stars if possible, as the Beoplay iPhone app is a bit clunky for pairing but does work.
