I like to add this to my morning oat meal for fibre. There’s no distinct flavour cos I consume it with protein powder, which has its own flavour. Flaxseed is also great for perimenopause women in balancing hormones. The container is convenient. I keep it in the freezer to maintain freshness.

Great looking product. Seeds look glossy and clean and fresh in the jar. I’ve heard ground flax is better for digestion/absorption than whole seeds. This product is ground, but not as finely as a flour or powder. I wonder if that keeps more nutrients intact? I usually put this in smoothies. It has a mild, nutty taste that doesn’t overpower the other ingredients. Flaxseed is supposed to be good for female hormone balance in addition to the general health benefits of omega-3’s, fiber, and protein.

The quality of these organic ground flaxseed are by far the best available. If money is not an obstacle then this brand is better than another brand that costs less. You can taste the difference in Barlean flax ingredient over other brands. What I like the most about this product is that you can see the results in softer skin and shiny healthy hair.

Seems like a spectacular product, wholesome and healthy ingredients, high quality, healthful benefit. I wasn’t able to incorporate it fully into my cooking so that was my only issue—I simply didn’t know how to use it up before it eventually was no longer fresh. Might be helpful to include recipes in which this product works well: baked goods, adding it to oatmeal, whatever. Of course that’s not the manufacturer’s job. If I buy again I’ll try to put more effort into figuring out how to properly benefit from this nice item.
I've been trying Barlean's for a couple of days now, having previously used Spectrum. I would say it's "ok" and I'll probably order again. As mentioned in reviews, Spectrum is milled "finer" so it's basically a powder. Barlean's is also very well milled, but not *quite* as fine as Spectrum. Depending on your purpose, one might be better than the other.Since I'm adding this to salads I prefer the Barlean's texture more. There is a bit of a sense of having some nuts in the salad. There is also just a tad more flavor - which is to say some flavor. Spectrum has none. This has just a slight hint of a nut flavor. Also the Barlean's packaging - in a twist top jar that closes securely - is 10 times better than the resealable pouch that Spectrum comes in.I'm satisfied ... I really feel this is a quality brand and they know flax. It’s not just a product among hundreds that they make. Unfortunately, it’s often “not available to your destination” so I don’t get it often. But it’s definitely a quality brand with integrity and I try now and then to get it. Nice work Barlean’s! Quality healthy trustworthy food!
I ordered this flaxseed because I wanted a ground flaxseed, as it is more easily absorbed by the body and you are able to get the nutrients from the flax, as opposed to when eating the seed whole. This is barely ground though, and there are some seeds that aren't ground at all. I bought a ground version rather than whole because I don't own a grinder, so this is a bit disappointing.
