The commonly used NPA rating relates to the increasing antibacterial inhibition effect of the honey on cultured bacteria (Staphylococcus aureus), in comparison to what phenol achieves. Phenol is a strong organic compound that has clear antibacterial effects, providing a stable standard for comparison purposes. MGO is the strength and energy within Manuka honey and is what makes it effective for health and wellbeing. Each batch of our Australian Manuka is independently tested through a third party laboratory to ensure authenticity and activity. A super high strength Active Manuka honey independently tested to ensure a minimum activity rating of MGO 550+. Equivalent to NPA 16+ Storage and Handling Store below 25°C and to ensure activity, consume within 24 months. Suitable for children 12 months and older.
