Wow! What a way to impress a new PS4 user with a game. After playing Batman Arkham City I was shocked to discover how big was the map of this game. It made that game feels so small in comparison. The developer just take everything they done before and multiplied it by 10. The game is so cinematic and well crafted. I felt it a little over convoluted, but in the end it paid off. The graphics were a big jump from what I’ve seen from this games in PS3, and even took the liberty of adding all the Batman lore out there. Everyone was in the game: Catwoman, Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing. They closed some loose ends from the previous games and were able to tell a really dramatic story. Love the graphics and still think this is one of the best looking PS4 games so far. The way the rain hit you cape while planning over Gotham still amazes me. I decided to give this game 4 stars for one specific reason: the Batmobile. Man, I hated that thing. I added new mechanics to the game but not always in a good way. I got stuck and abandoned the game for a while because certain mission required the Batmobile to complete it and I was so bad driving it. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely loved the Batmobile. It was great. What wasn’t great were the crazy missions designed with the car in mind. Ignored the a lot of stuff because of it and wasn’t able to get al the trophies from the game, which I regret. Leaving those points aside, It’s a great game. Even one of the best on the PS4 generation.

If you are a fan of the Arkham series, it is definitely worth getting. But Arkham knight is unfortunately the weakest of all the entries in the series. The largest open world yet is merely a set piece for the boring mechanic that is the batmobile. Too many hours are wasted in the poor tank combat or the janky chases. The city is too closed off and narrow for any real racing, and most of your time will be spent driving around the city to get to the next part of the story. While it is by no means a bad game, Rocksteady bit off a bit more than they can chew on this one, though there is some quality dlc that might make it worth getting.

WOW! As a huge Batman fan, I was expecting the final game in the series to be a show stopper, but I was still amazed by how great this game is... it is a spectacle! The story follows on from Arkham City and provides good closure for some of those unsolved mysteries such as the identity thief Thomas Elliot who escaped Batman's clutches in Arkham City. Batman's ultimate gadgets return to help you defeat Scarecrow and the Arkham Knight along with some new, really cool gadgets that we will never have used before. The foes are meaner than before, with their henchmen much cleverer than in any previous Batman game. They will keep you on your toes by finding your hiding places and adapting to your takedown methods.. so watch out! The story is absolutely magnificent with ... MoreWOW! The story is absolutely magnificent with unexpected twists and turns throughout the game, including the return of Penguin, Two-face, Harley, the Riddler and a surprise guest along for the ride. The batmobile is a great addition to the game aswell, and I was glad that they didn't over use it in the story so as not to take away from the classic style of Batman we have come to love. The batmobile is also a great help when your in a tight spot and need some assistance. The controls are a little hard to get used to, especially if your used to driving controls in other games such as GTA V, but once you have been playing for a while it becomes second nature. Gliding is better and easier, taking you a lot further than before which means you can traverse the whole city without having to touch the ground. The final thing I must say about this game, one thing that I loved the most, was trying to figure out the identity of the Arkham Knight. You don't find out who he/she is until way into the final third of the game, which keeps you full of suspense. If anyone has played it and knows who it is, please don't spoil it. Goes without saying but it would ruin that cat and mouse feel to the game, with constant wondering of who it may be. Is it someone Batman knows? Has he met them before? From the Asylum? From Arkham City? From Arkham Origins? Who could the Arkham Knight be? It is incredible to get so immersed in the game and it makes you more determined to find and defeat them before they destroy the city. I will definitely be playing it again just as soon as I have finished Harley Quinns add on and Scarecrows Nightmare missions. Enjoy!

First, I am a big fan of all comics giants. I like Batman because the background story has lots of my favorite villains, including Joker, Harley, Two-Face, Penguin, Freeze, Clayface, Grundy, Ivy & the list goes on... and I like how the story ends as compared to Christopher Nolan's Batman. Surely Warner Bros/rocksteady had put a lot of efforts in it bringing the characters & buildings, lightings & smoke effects to life. The gameplay is somewhat not quite the previous Batman style in main story. After certain missions you control your Batmobile & take on a bunch, I mean a whole bunch of battle tanks? I actually thought it was Battle Tanks. That can be frustrating at times. Stealth attack, not much of it but still good fun. Other boss battles will require all of your brains & skills to survive. Every time you/Batman dies, however, you have to watch the same screen over. Not liking it. Side stories I've not finished yet, they can be fun though. Oh the other sad thing is you must be online to get all of the DLC contents. That's why I give it a 3 for not quite good enough. I still would recommend it to others but you gamers decide.
In the midst of the unfolding catastrophe that is the PC version of Batman: AK, the PS4 copy shines as a something of a beacon showing just what can be done with the power under the hood of the current generation of consoles. You'll endure no slide show frame rate issues when driving the batmobile (as the PC crowd are experiencing) and instead enjoy a pretty flawlessly produced game with top end graphics, a compelling storyline and an incredible amount of content. The furore over whether or not the batmobile is a welcome or unwelcome addition to the franchise really is in the eye of the beholder. Some love it, some don't. I found driving it to be a tactile, visceral and even sometimes cerebral experience, but you ARE forced to engage in too many tank fights whilst behind the wheel. Of that there is no doubt. Outside of the vehicle the game is as strong as any in the series (even if the dialogue can be a little hackneyed at times) and as mentioned, looks utterly stunning with lightning flashes across a steamy rain soaked metropolis greeting you from the top of every building. If you want to experience a true next generation game then this (and arguably The Witcher 3) is as good as it gets right now.
You can easily complete in fifteen hours. That is why I found this game so enjoyable. The check points seem to be evenly paced. But what impressed me the most is this game has the best and easiest combat system I have ever played except for maybe Fallout 4. I was able to play the whole game through on normal level. But the last boss I had to change my level to easy. I just could not press that x button fast enough to grab the knife. But after changing the level it as not as difficult. That is another thing I liked about this game. You can change the level at any point. Only main drawback is you have to sit and watch numerous cut scenes. There is no way to bypass them. Only main drawback is you have to sit and watch numerous cut scenes. There is no way to bypass them. But actually you will not mind. A very compelling story keeps you intrigued all the way until the final end. The graphics are astounding. I even think they might be better than Fallout 4. The voice acting is also very impressive and really helps to immerse you into the game. The game is very unique. Think of it as a composite of 1886 Knights of the Round Table meets Resident Evil. Batman has great graphics but when everything is so dark it is difficult for me to say how true that is. The game mechanics are very good but you have to have a good memory of what combination of buttons to press. Though there are on screen visuals of what buttons to push by the time you read the instructions you are being attacked. The puzzles are a little annoying. In fact they have become so annoying I ended up buying a hard copy of the walk through manual. The bat mobile does not handle as effortlessly as I thought it would. Bringing up menus can be a pain. Sometimes you have to press a button to get to one menu and then press another button to get to the menu inside that menu. The number of gadgets can be overwhelming and become frustrating at times. But overall it seems to be a good game.
This review is for the PS4 versionThis is one of those games that sort of slipped past me as I had previously enjoyed playing both Arkham City and Arkham Asylum on the PS3. Arkham Knight has a bigger open world to explore with some good graphics and detailed areas of Gotham. The same dark atmosphere is appropriately done here as well along with the voice acting.Although it has taken me some time to get use to the game controls again, mainly because it has been a long time since I have played the other Batman games, for the most part, the game play is fairly smooth with some cool new fighting moves. The Bat-mobile adds a new element, which is fun, but I do feel that the game controls could be a bit better organized and less complicated as I always seems to struggle with it in combat. I have sort of a love/hate relationship with the Bat-mobile.There are new riddler puzzles that include some race courses for the Bat-mobile, which to me seem a bit out of place for the game and get a bit tiresome. There are lots of things to see and do, but as compared to some of the newer games out there, I felt a bit lost at times though as the search for quests isn’t as neatly done as some of the games that have come out since this one. With that being said, I probably like this installment, the least of the three games. Not because I don’t think it is fun, but because it has some elements that could have been done better, especially the bat-mobile and it does feel a bit more of the same in a lot of respects and gets repetitive pretty quickly.3.5 stars
Okay so nothing can really live up to Arkham City but this is still a great installment in the series. I'd say it ties with Asylum for my second-favorite gameplay experience (we'll just forget about Origins). It's got plenty to do without taking up too much of your time, introduces fun Batmobile mechanics, and the updated graphics and lack of loading screens impressed me. That being said, again this does not quite live up to City. I 100%-ed both Asylum and City (a few DLC achievements notwithstanding) but have no interest in 100%-ing this one. I simply don't want to do all of the Riddler challenges in this one, nor did I in Origins. ***Minor Spoilers*** After an albeit brief but exciting introduction you are thrust into the open world of Gotham. If you've played any of the previous games a sense of familiarity strikes immediately which in some ways is both a good and a bad thing. The controls are fairly simple to jump straight into though some of the more complex controls feel a little awkward at times. Visually Arkham Knight is a beautiful game, though initially the streets of Gotham felt a little empty, it's not until you've made a little progress in the story that the world starts to feel more alive, but even then it feels a little hollow compared to other open world games like GTA, or the more recent Witcher 3. My overall progress is just over 50% and for the most part I've enjoyed it, but many of the side missions feel a little too rinse and repeat, for instance chasing after Firefly for the third time. And there is the feeling I've been there and done much of it before. The story thus far has been mostly entertaining, though it's more Batmans battle with his inner demons that steal the show rather than the battle with the villain the game is named after, the Arkham Knight. The biggest new addition is the Batmobile, which is forced upon you at every given opportunity. In some areas it's neat how you use it to solve certain puzzles, and escape some otherwise grave scenarios. Driving around the streets of Gotham is a breeze, and then holding L2 switches to a nimble tank mode, problem is after the umpteenth tank battle you've had enough, and when I don't have to drive somewhere I find myself purposefully avoiding using the Batmobile to break the monotony. It's a shame because it's actually a really good addition, and has been implemented well, it's just a pity they felt the need to ram it down your throat every five minutes. Overall though Arkham Knight is a good game, and in my opinion well worth playing. Even though it feels at times a little padded with copy and paste multi-part side quests, it offers a solid and for the most part entertaining experience.
This is a worthy continuation to the Arkham franchise in terms of scope, overall polish, and new additions. Gotham is as good as ever. Extremely well-designed and fun to explore. Unfortunately, there is nothing much to do there, except for the Riddler trophies, which are fun and interesting, but don't quite cover the possibilities. Gameplay is also very good. People criticize the game for the fact that there's too much of the Bat-mobile in the game, and I think they're partially right. In the parts where the it serves merely as a gadget, Bat-mobile is extremely fun to use, whether it's for solving puzzles or traversing Gotham. However, when it's usage is forced upon you, it's very annoying and feels lazy. Bat-mobile should not be used as the only means to win a boss battle. Boss battles are the times when we most definitely want to be the Batman, and disperse justice using our fists. The story was amazing. The stakes are higher than ever. This really feels like a end to a trilogy, and an impressive one at that. Overall, I enjoyed this game a lot and would recommend to anyone. There's nothing to do after completing the main missions thought. Riddler trophies are fun, but not sufficient to keep you engaged, so keep that in mind.
