In fact, all of the weapon aiming mechanics suck. The 84 mm anti tank weapon is useless, firing it once and only taking 1/3 of its health only to be barraged and killed. Now, if voice chat was enabled, coordinated attacks could be achieved, but sadly there is no voice communication in this game, even between your squad. I felt they really tried to make this game too realistic, at the account of a fun and playable first person shooter. The mechanics of Star Wars Battlefront 2 Are far superior, and you get a sense of reward and satisfaction. And when you die be prepared for an Olympic long distance running event just to get back into the fight. Half your match you will find yourself humping aimlessly all over the map running from sector to sector, just to fire a couple of rounds and get shot up, rinse and repeat. This game doesn’t need just a few updates, it needs a major in game mechanics overhaul. If you like the first person experience, try Call of Duty, you’ll find it has way more entertainment value and replayability instead of battlefield 2042.

You shoot another player and see the bullets go straight through with zero health removed from the enemy player. Then they shoot you and you're dead. Oh did I mention you can fall through the map at any point?

I've played all of the Battlefield series over the years and, although I only play the campaign, still enjoyed each of the series. After loading, the game started on a huge map with a whole bunch of bots both friendly and enemy. Quite a frantic start as a tutorial and nice graphics with the usual 'classes' one sees in these games. A completed scenario and the main screen loaded up. Great, let's see what we can see. Once again, a similar experience to the tutorial level. Choose a class, drop into a map, get smashed or smash a bunch of bots rinse & repeat. You can level up your gear doing this, but that's about it. Whilst I know that most of these FPS games pander to the multi-player community so everyone can play with their friends or others online, moan about players who are better than them for cheating, find bugs in the game that allow them to cheat and generally do everything other than follow any sort of story, it would have been nice that, during the initial hype for the game, the fact that the thing lacked anything in the way of a single player experience could have been noted. I wouldn't have wasted time or money on the title and played more Zombies in Vanguard. One for the MMO community only.

Everyone survives because some games have over 500 respawns for a team? WHY?!! Games can take 40+ minutes to get through and by the end you want it to just be over. Do yourself a favour, take the money you would spend on this and set it on fire in the backyard. This game will be worthless the second you buy it and it's impossible to sell second hand. As just about anybody who reviews this game has mentioned, there are no particularly distinctive aspects among the available characters you can select from. All are sort of a jack-of-all-trades and so there is no real synergy within your squad, which further lends itself to the bloodbath free-for-all nature of the combat, regardless of which mode/map you play. In the end, you have your head on a swivel the entire time and are either sniped or blown up by an artillery round that you never see coming, often within less than a second of spawning onto the map. This does not improve much with gear/skill as you progress up the ranks.

Why pay money for all these tools and intriguing game modes but not take advantage of them? When launching into a game, you can see the badges and achievements of your squad mates. I never saw anyone else who had any kind of recon badge. And yet the most frustrating thing is getting shot by someone you didn't know was there. For a while, I took pride in scouting the battlefield and almost always was a showcase finisher for kill assists. But that grew old pretty quick. I understand that Battlefield games intend to straddle the line between fun and realism, but the fun tends to evaporate the more unrealistic it gets. Given how crowded the FPS game space is, it's hard to understand exactly who this game is designed for. Amidst a swarming sea of digital humanity, I never felt so lonely as I did playing this game.
Best Buy's key delivery left a lot to be desired, not getting the key until after 7pm on launch date. Paying extra for early access, to then not be able to play with buddies who ordered on Origin and Steam was pretty frustrating. But once the key arrived and the nearly 50GB install completed, the game has been fun. Far better with friends, as the in-game VOIP doesn't exist at launch. It takes some time to learn the advantages for each of the new Specialist types, but you can always simplify back to familiar loadouts and go from there as you learn the rest. The launch was definitely a bit rough, with a lot of bugs and server issues, but that has largely settled out. The game is getting better as we continue to rank up and play. Portal brings back some great maps and loadouts from the past, in particular one of favorites: Arica Harbour on Bad Company 2. I've been playing BF games since BF2, but have played them all in the years since. It's fun to revisit past design decisions in Portal. This release returns BF to a multiplayer only ecosystem, so be aware. No campaign like we've had since BF3, but well worth your time if you're willing to put in the effort to rank up and get better toys to play with.

I was suppose to receive the matching collectors edition Battlefield 2042 steelcase as a bonus/ Free gift ($9.99 value) but after it was automatically added to my cart, the item was cancelled soon after my payment I was certainly disappointed but I bought the matching metal/ steelcase online elsewhere for $6.47 free ship and received all my items 4 days later to po box. Very satisfied overall** the game received is very good, Battlefield 2042 for Sony PS4. I recommend as a good starter game for anyone delving into the combat games. Graphics and mild open world platform is good enough to really enjoy! Yes I would buy again
