Battlefield 2042 is a mixed bag. The large-scale battles and dynamic weather systems are impressive, offering chaotic and immersive warfare. The new specialists system adds variety to gameplay, but some players miss the traditional class system. The graphics are stunning, capturing the futuristic warzones well. However, the game has faced issues with bugs and server stability, which can be frustrating. Despite these problems, the core gameplay can be a lot of fun, especially with friends. With ongoing updates, it has the potential to improve significantly

Battlefield 2042 is an exhilarating and visually stunning addition to the Battlefield franchise. The massive maps, dynamic weather, and innovative Portal mode make it an exciting experience. The sheer scale of battles is jaw-dropping, and the variety of vehicles and weaponry offers endless tactical possibilities. Since the library of PS5 games is so slim, I picked up Battlefield 2042 for $49.99 Cad. Going on sale this early into release, like 1 month after releasing, should tell you something about what to expect playing this game. Initially you may like it, the maps are massive and the whole total air and ground combat combination and the chaos of war is there. That’s about where the excitement stops. This game may lead you to believe that your weapons will improve as you progress, and you will be able to actually drop a few enemy during ground combat, but that is not the case. And playing cross platform with PC players vs a console player is suicide. I find I can get 3 to 4 solid hits on an enemy, only to be dropped with one headshot. Mid range distance engagements are ... MoreSince the library of PS5 games is so slim, I picked up Battlefield 2042 for $49.99 Cad. And playing cross platform with PC players vs a console player is suicide. I find I can get 3 to 4 solid hits on an enemy, only to be dropped with one headshot. Mid range distance engagements are frustrating and extremely difficult, you can hit the enemy, but seldom drop him, and the sniper aiming mechanics are terrible. In fact, all of the weapon aiming mechanics suck. The 84 mm anti tank weapon is useless, firing it once and only taking 1/3 of its health only to be barraged and killed. Now, if voice chat was enabled, coordinated attacks could be achieved, but sadly there is no voice communication in this game, even between your squad. I felt they really tried to make this game too realistic, at the account of a fun and playable first person shooter. The mechanics of Star Wars Battlefront 2 Are far superior, and you get a sense of reward and satisfaction. And when you die be prepared for an Olympic long distance running event just to get back into the fight. Half your match you will find yourself humping aimlessly all over the map running from sector to sector, just to fire a couple of rounds and get shot up, rinse and repeat. This game doesn’t need just a few updates, it needs a major in game mechanics overhaul. If you like the first person experience, try Call of Duty, you’ll find it has way more entertainment value and replayability instead of battlefield 2042.
This Battlefield 2042 game is a good game to start with. The only thing that it needs is PlayStation Plus to play. My only complaint is that it needs PS Plus to play and no campaign mode included with the game. Why EA? No campaign mode and requires you to play with PlayStation Plus?! Next time, make a Battlefield game with a campaign mode and does not force you to require PlayStation Plus to play. Would I recommend this game to a buyer? Yes and no at the same time which is okay in my opinion. Speaking of which I payed $16 for this game which is a great deal to buy at Best Buy right now. If it is a great deal, then why would it require PlayStation Plus for online multiplayer and has no campaign mode. If it is a great deal, then why would it require PlayStation Plus for online multiplayer and has no campaign mode. This is why I like Call of Duty better because it gives you a good campaign mode and does not force you to buy PS Plus. Just you could play this game by itself and with AI. But that game is better in my opinion. Your opinion changes may change then mine anytime. So yeah go with this one or the Call of Duty.
I was afraid that I would spend $50 on a video game that I wouldn’t like and when I arrived at the Best Buy store closest to my house the customer service associate explained the game to me so well that I felt like I was a pro already. He showed me videos he told me, and other ways I can get resources as well. It was constructed and provided to me so easily that I ended up buying the game and now it’s my favorite one that I have. Very easy to use very well priced crystal clear picture and the most important thing for me is that it’s very fun to play. I highly recommend this product. You will love it.
I am liking Battlefield 2042, it is easily better than COD which is so dull, glitch ridden and regurgitated. Rainbow 6 never got it right after Black Arrow and Vegas and don't get me started on the PC gamers wet dream Fortshite which is fun if you have a PC, the higher FPS which allows you the advantage over console gamers hands down. Battlefield 2042 gives you a few other titles such as Bad Company Rush, 1942, Battlefield 3 so good value for money as well. The game itself is a massive improvement on 1 and V which like my ex girlfriend showed promise to begin with but got boring after a year or so. It has it issues granted but the positives that will follow in patched will most certainly outweigh the negatives. People are often too quick to jump on the negative ... MoreI am liking Battlefield 2042, it is easily better than COD which is so dull, glitch ridden and regurgitated. People are often too quick to jump on the negative bandwagon , don't read the back page and tell me you know what the book is about you have to read it page by page.Battlefield gives you the experience that Bad Company did as well as Battlefield 4 which were class. Half of these reviewers probably weren't playing the earlier games but I am happy with what I am seeing at the moment and will continue to play the game without demanding a refund.Keep up the good work is all I gotta say to the developers who worked through a pandemic to deliver this title and will continue to do so to give us the patches and season passes over the next few years I imagine
I was prepared to be dazzled as this was the first game I bought for my new PS5, now that I finally found on in stock a year and a half after release. Visually, I'm not all the disappointed. The maps, some familiar, some brand new, do look amazing and the way in which you can alter the terrain by demolishing buildings and such w/vehicles remaiins impressive to this day. However, (3-stars indicated there is a catch, right?) the gameplay experience is clearly an afterthought. It is routine to die immediately upon spawn as it is total chaos. Imagine an actual battlefield in 2022 where there are no coms for anyone on the ground. You'd have entire divisions slaughtered with the left hand not knowing what the right is doing- This is the BF2042 experience, and the only ... MoreI was prepared to be dazzled as this was the first game I bought for my new PS5, now that I finally found on in stock a year and a half after release. You'd have entire divisions slaughtered with the left hand not knowing what the right is doing- This is the BF2042 experience, and the only one available as there is no campaign offered this time around. On the plus side, matchmaking (at least with cross-platform enabled) is quick and relatively efficient. Gone are the long wait times associated with loading/matchmaking on the last couple of BF games on the PS4.There is a sort of blandness between the characters too. As just about anybody who reviews this game has mentioned, there are no particularly distinctive aspects among the available characters you can select from. All are sort of a jack-of-all-trades and so there is no real synergy within your squad, which further lends itself to the bloodbath free-for-all nature of the combat, regardless of which mode/map you play.In the end, you have your head on a swivel the entire time and are either sniped or blown up by an artillery round that you never see coming, often within less than a second of spawning onto the map. This does not improve much with gear/skill as you progress up the ranks.
A digital battlefield never felt so crowded, yet so lonely. My first few hours playing this game were fun -- reminiscent of all the great times I had playing Battlefield 2, the original and still one of the greatest destructible environment shooters. The futuristic characters, weapons, and vehicles are pretty interesting, although sometimes a bit too reminiscent of previous Battlefield games. Same goes for the game modes: a bit novel, but sometimes too dated. There are two things that quickly deteriorated the fun, however. First, is the way players can respawn on squad mates, creating a seemingly never-ending stream of cannon fodder. This ties in to the other problem: most players mindlessly rush to their deaths over and over. There is very little disincentive to do this. It also is tactically absurd. Any pretense or pretext of realism totally evaporates when you use a recon drone to see it happening over and over. The end-of-round summary does not show each players K/D/A statistics -- there is no mention of deaths at all. There really should be.The game provides great tactical tools to conduct strategic warfare (communication pings, squad orders, recon and healing capabilities, etc.), but very few players utilize any of them. They just run and shoot over and over. It's sad, really, because there are so many other games (like CSGO) where you can do this for free. Why pay money for all these tools and intriguing game modes but not take advantage of them? When launching into a game, you can see the badges and achievements of your squad mates. I never saw anyone else who had any kind of recon badge. And yet the most frustrating thing is getting shot by someone you didn't know was there. For a while, I took pride in scouting the battlefield and almost always was a showcase finisher for kill assists. But that grew old pretty quick.I understand that Battlefield games intend to straddle the line between fun and realism, but the fun tends to evaporate the more unrealistic it gets. Given how crowded the FPS game space is, it's hard to understand exactly who this game is designed for. Amidst a swarming sea of digital humanity, I never felt so lonely as I did playing this game.
