Warm, lightweight, and comfortable: what more could you ask for in a jacket? I can wear it all day in winter mountain conditions and be warm without feeling constricted or weighed down. It can be layered under another jacket for extreme conditions. Love this jacket!

The color is absolutely beautiful. This jacket is warm and comfortable. A little puffy, I would recommend ordering a size smaller. Unfortunately the fabric is not durable. In under 3 months of use my jacket already has 2 holes and you can see the inside (some type of white filling) coming out through the holes :( I believe it happened from the jacket getting stuck on my keychain for a second and the other from leaning on a popcorn wall, that sort of thing. it is my impression that the fabric of the outer layer is very thin and fragile so anything more abrupt it came in contact with damaged it, unfortunately!

I haven't used this jacket enough. I am easily chilled and kept this in my pack while ski touring. It fits over my shell and my Access Down Hoody and still feels comfortable. It is particularly thick and cozy around the neck and head. The material isn't as thick as I was expecting but once it's on, it's toasty.I'm 5'6" and 140 lbs. Medium fit great. Love the long sleeves.

The Belay Parka is a one of a kind find in the climbing world. Most parkas are down these days and some of out there prefer the synthetic insulation. This parka is very warm, easily washable, and nice looking. It fits a little larger than the size but I would hesitate to downsize. The hood is huge in order to fit a helmet, but without the helmet, it envelopes your head; there is a cinch on the back that helps a bit. Pockets in the right places. Fits over other layers easily.
I was looking for a sturdy, extremely warm jacket to put over other layers when I was belaying or digging snow pits in the winter. This coat is perfect for exactly that. Durable materials, especially for a puffy style coat. It has a thick, warm hood that fits over a helmet. Good pockets for cramming an avi book, snacks or other gear. Very happy with this purchase, it gets a lot of use. Would recommend.
Ordered for my wife who is always cold. Unfortunately, the large was too small, but I was so impressed with this piece I ordered one for me. Why did I choose this in the first place? 5.6 oz Primaloft Silver Continuous filament insulation. Continuous filament insulations are far more durable than chopped staple. So durable infact that this jacket is NOT even quilted, the insulation is only sewn in at the edges. This means less cold spots and more loft. The un-coated Pertex nylon shell is excellent. Fit, finish, details, all excellent. Two things that are not my favorite but are not deal breakers: Hood is a single pull cord, so it lacks control. Cuffs are large and loose, so they slide down easily if not wearing gloves. Still, really impressed with this piece.
I just moved to Northern Ontario and my other winter jackets were just not cut out for the cold that I have been experiencing here. I waited for a sale and then jumped on it. I wanted a jacket that was warm but not super bulky and would let me wear layers underneath and allow for flexible movement and outdoor activities.When I got it, at first I felt like it was too large. But then I realized that any smaller would not have let me put as many layers on underneath. The zipper is great because it allows you to zip from the bottom and the top and is very versatile.It is very lightweight and warm. I was outside in -25 yesterday for 2 hours and did not shiver at all. Now I just have to find some warm pants to keep my whole self warm!
I was always stealing my husband's version of this coat, and finally got one in my own size. It's sooo warm, and the quality is top notch. It has pockets that zip in just the right places. Plus it's not down, as the polyester fill is great in my wet climate. I'm 5'4" and 115lbs, and I ordered a size small, so it layers easy over other lighter jackets. If you want more form fitting, you may want to size down.
The jacket is blissfully warm, but the front zipper is problematic. Thankfully unzipping is fine, but getting the jacket zipped up is a constant struggle. Many of my coworkers have the same jacket. We all love the warmth but agree zipping it up is a challenge. It runs significantly larger than other women's jackets from Black Diamond.
I am SO HAPPY with this puffy!Its warm, fits PERFECT, hip height.Im muscular 5'5" and 160. Ordered a Large.fits like a glove! with a little room for warm layers. Color is poppin. lOVE THIS!
