This thing is AMAZING. I have really long and thick hair. I typically blow dry my hair and then once it is pretty dry, I will take a round to it. This guy does all of that in one. However, because my hair is SO THICK, I either let my hair air dry before I use thing or pre-dry it with a blowing dryer for just a few minutes. I can't say enough good things about this though. It leaves my hair so silky and keep my hair smooth throughout the day. I can actually use this, and not wash my hair the next day and just touch my hair up with this in just a couple minutes. Do yourself a favor, and get one of these! You won't regret it!!!

Found one of these in the clearance section at TJMaxx! I had recently been on the hunt for one and was about to buy the Revlon brand before I came across this one. I’m always looking for a quicker way to style my hair with minimal heat damage and this thing is legit! It took half the time of drying it with my regular blow dryer AND it gave it more volume! A win win! I honestly wish I had bought this sooner!

So first off, I have multiple disabilities that make it hard for me to hold things for too long. I gave up drying my hair, after every wash, about two years ago. My hair was too thick and too long for me to do it myself. This was a game changer. I now can dry my hair in 10 minutes and don’t have to use both hands to do it. Not only is my hair dry but it has volume and is not frizzy. Losing independence and the ability to do things you used to be able to do is very frustrating. But this brush dryer has given me the ability to do some thing I used to do, again.

Best thing ever

Awesome, I rarely write reviews but always read them! I have very long coarse porous wavy hair( 3c)with multiple cowlick(calic?) in the front hairline and the crown. This straightens as it drys, takes care of all the crazy coarseness and fixes the cowlicks within 20 minutes, yes 20 minutes. My hair ends up soft straightened with just a tiny bit of iron to fix the ends without frying them. Lasts forever in the high Florida humidity and is easily used for a no wash day touch up. Without this a blowout would take at least an hour and then another hour for straightening all to be lost once I went outside. Products in my hair, nothing seriously nothing. On non wash days a little smoother that’s it. I have owned for 3 months

I have had good results with this dryer! I use to to dry and straighten my hair all at once. It's super helpful for someone like me with a hand injury to not have to use both of my hands when using this product. I have been using this for 5 months now with no performance complaints. However -- this tool gets HOT. Be careful and use heat protection on your hair! I also found it difficult to clean, and the bristles eventually flatten over time. I wonder if that's from general use or if it's melting from the heat? The difference between the HIGH and LOW settings is not heat wise, it's how fast the air is coming out. The COOL setting doesn't do much in the way of styling, but it'll dry your hair (slowly albeit).

Great while it lasted

I used this hair dryer brush on a regular basis for ~4 months, and it worked so well during that time. It could take my towel dried hair after getting out of the shower and turn it into bouncy, smooth hair within 20 minutes or so. Loved it so much more than trying to dry my hair with a regular hair dryer and then straightening it. It did used to get very hot after a bit of using it, and I had to be careful not to touch my ears with it. I also did get hand cramps a few times from turning the brush during the drying process, but I tried switching off hands regularly after that and it wasn’t too bad. The sad part is after only 4 months of use, I was finishing up drying my hair one day when there was a popping sound and the smell of something burning. Just a smooth non-drying salon finish!

I have tried other more expensive name brand hot air brushes. They didn’t work as good as this Bed Head. This is the best for my thick course frizzy hair. Tourmaline does not dry out hair. I wanted a very hot, 3” oval barrel, high wattage. Some may need extra care to get used to but it’s manageable. Dries hair quickly, with salon like finish. Smooths hair. No snagging or tangling. I use no other hair tools. Not louder than other dryers. Use ear plugs if sensitive. I would definitely buy this dryer again. Hope it doesn’t burn out for awhile anyway. Definitely worth it, price, for quality of hair tool. Works better than expected and better than more expensive tools.

So so for short hair

First off my fault for not reading this was oval. It's about 4 1/2" from bristle tip to bristle tip on the wide side and 3" on the other. The barrel itself seems to be 3" X 1 3/4". The handle is kind of big too and my hand cramps when holding it. As far as loudness goes, it's not bad. I would say typical hair dryer. This did not give my hair the fullness I was expecting and got from my old round brush hair dryer. I can see where it would be better for long hair or for people looking for something to straighten there hair while drying. As now I've opened and used it I will keep trying to make it work, but for my fine, straight, somewhat short hair, I am not impressed.

So I bought both the bedhead at retail price and the Drybar blow dryer brush, on sale and mostly with points. Full disclosure, I only paid $60 for the drybar, so it wasn't a huge loss to experiment with which I like. Here are my thoughts: Bedhead wins on price for sure, though since I only paid like $60 for the drybar one I'm going to keep it because it's not *that* much more expensive and I'm curious as far as lasting, which one will keep up through time (which is TBD obvi) Drybar wins on handle comfort. It's much smaller in diameter both in the brush and the handle than the bed head, which makes it much less heavy and comfortable to hold. I also love the square tip because it makes it super easy to notice by feel if I'm losing the angle I want. They both have only two heat settings and a cool function, but here's where things get strange. I feel like the drybar is the same hotness, but it made my hair much frizzier the first time I used it than the bedhead. Like super frizzy! The second time I used it I switched to the lower setting when I was near my roots which helped, but makes it annoying to keep flipping between. Temp wise they feel the same, but I think drybar blows harder on high which is causing the frizz. So for blow power and heat drybar was higher but bedhead wins because more power isn't necessarily better, like standing in front of a jet engine might dry my hair fast but it'd be a mess lol They also both dried my hair in the same amount of time, even with the more power of the drybar, probably because I had to switch to low so often to avoid frizz. So they tie here as far as time (about 8 minutes total). I also think even though the handle was more comfortable with drybar, my hair got stuck in it a few times and that was so annoying. It's never happened with the bedhead and I think it's because it's wider. Overall I give bedhead an 8, room for improvement in the handle design and adding the square to the top sounds stupid but when I can feel it level in the back it makes it so much easier. Drybar I'd like less power and a wider design to avoid hair pulling and frizzing. And the retail cost is definitely not worth it to me so that brings it to a 6. Hope this helps someone in making a decision!

excellent tool

I am very happy I purchased this. For as long as I can remember I have been drying my hair with a traditional handheld hairdryer in one hand and a round brush in another. This has always been difficult when it comes to reaching the back of my hair and any of it really that falls behind my ears due to an injury that left me with limited range of motion in my left arm. with the bed head one step hairdryer I can get all the way around for a proper blowout with just one tool in my dominant right hand. the design also allows me to get more volume. i tried this while my hair was about 60% dry and it was difficult to get my roots all the way dry so now I wait until it is closer to about 75-80% dry since my hair is thick. as far as other consumers' complaints about the ... MoreI am very happy I purchased this.
