There isn't much you can say that hasn't been said already. I can only imagine how utterly mind blowing this must have been 50 years ago, because it is still mind blowing today. They sheer quality of sound and range of sonic possibilities makes this the perfect synth for an analogue loving experimenter. Ok, so you can't dial in a sound instantly - it takes a while - but it is worth the wait. I don't know what I expected from the spring reverb, but that is the icing on the cake. The very first patch you will do on this thing is a supersaw. Wow! Add a ring modulated octave for a massive sound that wouldn't be out of place in a blade runner movie.Anyway, you get the idea. The 2600 will pretty much make any sound an analogue synth is capable of making. Worth every cent.

STAND FOR THE BEHRINGER 2600: This is a very special product, perfectly fitting, great quality of the wooden parts, thanks a lot for the beautiful texture! Shipping went fast and without any problems via FedEx. Some instructions would have been helpful, assembling is a bit tricky, but hey, even me got it done. It's important to first assemble the metal parts, and then, second step, the wooden panels onto them. The other way round is difficult. Also I would recommend not to use the delivered washers, cause they make the screwing process much harder. Works better without them. However: GREAT STABLE RACK, very well crafted, beautiful looking, highly recommended, thanks a lot! MJ

Lots of fun, amazing sound, incredible value

I’ve only had this synth for a month or so and am already in love with it. I grew up in a world where Behringer was a dirty word, but to see them really focus in on this “Music for the people” mantra is awesome. I now own one of the greatest synths of all time, and it only cost me a fraction of the cost of a real one. Sure a purist might say it’s not the same, but it sounds super close and I’m having too much fun to hear them. Also the price at DJ City was too good to not buy it.

I've owned a Behringer Odyssey (also purchased from Andertons) for some time now and have been so impressed with it that I decided to take the plunge on the 2600 as well. There's quite a difference! The 2600 certainly has much more flexibility but you have to work at it. Make no mistake, this is a proper modular synthesizer and there are countless possibilities for creating new sounds. However, you may need to allow a couple of days to get fully acquainted with it.Whilst you can use the synth on its own (with an amp or computer/recording gear), you'll probably want to budget for some sort of MIDI input device. I use the Arturia Keystep 37 which works very well. Also, you'll need to acquire some 3.5mm mono patch cables sooner rather than later as they're not ... MoreI've owned a Behringer Odyssey (also purchased from Andertons) for some time now and have been so impressed with it that I decided to take the plunge on the 2600 as well. I use the Arturia Keystep 37 which works very well. Also, you'll need to acquire some 3.5mm mono patch cables sooner rather than later as they're not included.Cons (compared to Behringer Odyssey) - No integrated keyboard (obviously!) or sequencer, no octave switch, no effects (other than reverb), max release time on the env generators is a bit short, it doesn't have the fantastic 4023 2-pole filter, you need to purchase patch cables to make the most of it.Pros - Extra VCO and wave forms, other additional modules, the patch points provided extreme flexibility but it's up to you to learn it and exploit it.If you're new to modular, the 2600 is a great way to start. You get all the essential ingredients (and a few more besides) in a convenient package for an amazing price. If you tried to replicate it with eurorack, for instance, I'm sure you would end up paying considerably more.Does it really sound like an ARP 2600 ? I don't know and I don't care! What I do know is that its got everything you need to create some huge sounds (and subtle, delicate sounds) and that, to me, is really all that matters.I don't consider the 2600 to be a replacement for my Odyssey but it is certainly an excellent complement to it.

Behringer did extraordinary job on recreating 2600.When I first switched it on I was smiling;) it looks gorgeous with all that led lights. Then I made my first sound and was blown away by its superb sound. It’s a massive sounding synth. I love it! And its price make me wander how on earth is it even possible to have this beast for as little as behringer asking for it;) absolutely amazing! Get it while they making them as I’m pretty sure oneve they are out of production it’s price will skyrocket

Waited 50 years!

Around 1974 I bought an ARP Odyssey because I thought the 2600 was beyond my understanding. Love my Oddy, still have it, but this 2600 goes FAR beyond it! Understanding the signal flow is important and there are many great videos available to learn from. My work with my Odyssey taught me that years ago but now the possibilities are wide open with this semi-modular synth. YouTube videos are a frequent visit for more tips and patches. The first thing I noticed was the clean sound and smooth sliders. With 2 available VCF filters and beautifully lit sliders it is a joy to use. Don't let the low price fool you. You do not need to spend thousands to get the same sounds. MIDI and USB didn't exist 50 years ago and so this integrates easily in my studio. I didn't need 'another keyboard' as I have plenty of controllers. It's smaller size has a great footprint on my desk. The reverb. Mine is the black and orange and uses the digital reverb as opposed to the spring 'verb. Personally, I don't like spring reverbs so the digital was my choice. Remember, you can always route it to your favorite FX. I love this new synth and the guys at Sweetwater are great. Bottom line… get one from them! Don't wait 50 years!!

Warning!!!
4 April 2022

Only suitable for musicians with huge amounts of time to spare!!!This baby’s not gonna let you leave her alone!!!(Always a new kind of patch to try out.)Behringer has really done a great job sound vise on this little beast..That being said, there are some things I would have wished differently. (“Missing” knobs, wood/tolex case, patch cables, and the size factor/to small)But it’s a below 700€ synth. They had to cut some cost’s somewhere..So I can’t complain.Quite the opposite. Thanks for the B2600!

Never played a real 2600 but owned the VST versions, which sound good but not like this. This amazing clone sounds fat and is an incredible powerhouse analog synthesizer. It took a while to get it but worth the wait. Monster Sound, easy to navigate, sliders are very smooth with the right tension. If you can't decide to buy it, just do it! can't believe I even have one at this price point. I highly recommend an 8U Desktop Rack to mount it vertically. Sweetwater is the best place to buy musical equipment! Chris McCown, Thanks for all you do!
