Behringer DDM4000 Digital DJ Mixer: I've been DJing for many years and have used many mixers. By far this is the best mixer on the market for the money! I'm a big fan of the Numark DXM09 and Pioneer DJM800. The DDM4000 has more features and cost less than both of these. The depth of the DDM4000 is absolutely stunning with XLR master and subwoofer outs plus a crossover for the sub. You can customize the frequencies for the HIGH, MID, and LOW EQ knobs to your feq. of choice. Kills for each side of the crossfader and regular or reversible kills for each channel. 32 Seconds of sampling time with loop, reverse, and single touch modes assignable to two banks which can be assigned to any CH and routed through it's own effect section. The MIC section is also customizable with it's own effects section as well plus inputs for you and your beat boxing buddy. All leds are nice and bright, now a lot of people do not like the blue leds on the top of the mixer because they are too bright which I agree and makes it very hard to see the PFL levels but in the newer models (made after Dec. '08) they changed them to green which are way easier on the eyes. They wanted to keep the color theme yellow and blue but I believe Behringer received a LOT of complaints about the blue leds. The Dual FX section speaks for itself! With nine effects and so many settings you can actually come up with different effects, especially when combined and can be set to either the HIGH, MID, or LOW EQ! Programmable MIDI (Behringer stated that there will be free downloadable MIDI updates with more settings in the future). The display is nice, bright, adjustable and easy on the eyes, that's where you will spend most of your time tweaking settings which can be saved. Two more things that impressed me I haven't seen on any other mixer is the Ultramizer (which makes the sound more "powerful") that has 5 presets and the Punch EQ buttons which emphasize the Bass and/or Snare in the headphones for an easier mix, awesome! So if you want one of the best mixers ever made without going into debt, this would be the one!

Best value in the DJ mixer market, hands down

This DJ mixer is by far the best mixer out there for the money. Definately the best mixer to come out from Behringer in a while, this thing is LOADED with features. Sound quality is excellent. Some features to note that many places fail to acknowledge: a dedicated subwoofer out with 2-way crossover (yes it will high-pass the mains for you if turn the sub mode on) with vaiable frequency adjustment, multiple user settings, built-in compressor/limiter (called the ultramizer) with adjustable parameters, an insane effects processor, very accurate bpm counter (integrates with the effects to provide proper effects timing), fully midi-mappable for software like Virtual DJ, Traktor, etc. The faders are optical and feel pretty good. I'm a scratch DJ and pretty much wore out the stock crossfader. I replaced it with an Innofader and the installation for the mixer is pretty easy and it works AWESOME with it. Built-in sampler is very good. The mic section is fantastic. The Mic section has it's own effects section, independent of the main one. It also has it's own compressor, parametric EQ (as does the regular main channels), and just sounds great. Full array of inputs and outputs. The unit is extremely lightweight, but don't know how due to how much "stuff" this mixer has. Midi mode allows you put only what you want in midi mode (ex., I am running ch 1 and 4 in midi and the 2 & 3 are regualar analog). I use the 1 and 4 for controlling Virtual DJ (knobs, buttons, and sliders) and the 2&3 and crossfader are analog for my sound fading/mixing. This mixer offers so much at such a low price it's hard to want to accept it at first. Most people are skeptical because of the name and also for how much this mixer can do at the low price. I am one of many beleivers that this unit is one of the best kept secrets in the DJ world. I bought mine new two years ago (not from PE) for even less. IT's hands down the best mixer you'll ever buy new, for the $$.

Good mixer, great value!

I was kind of skeptical about the Behringer seeing as how I've had some iffy opinions about it with fellow DJs but I can't say any negative things about this board. One issue I came across was the first mixer I got had a short or something in the fourth channel and some of the audio outputs. Sent it back and got a replacement no problem. Got my new board and it works flawlessly, except for the occasional user error ;]This thing is jammed pack full of little gizmos. Everything you could want in a mixer for it's level is built right into the board. The effects are outstanding and contain anything and everything you'd need. I personally love the simple high-pass but this thing seriously has EVERY effect you could really think of.I only bumped it down from a 10 to a ... MoreI was kind of skeptical about the Behringer seeing as how I've had some iffy opinions about it with fellow DJs but I can't say any negative things about this board. One issue I came across was the first mixer I got had a short or something in the fourth channel and some of the audio outputs. I personally love the simple high-pass but this thing seriously has EVERY effect you could really think of.I only bumped it down from a 10 to a 9 because the sampler is a little dry, though I haven't really taken the time to learn how to use it properly. It's never really interested me and the times I've tried to play with it it seemed like way too much set-up, so don't rely on it too much unless you are willing to work with it.Incredible quality for this price-range as well. Audio is clear and crisp," it keeps its levels great -- everything. I haven't had an issue with mine as far as quality goes. One teensy ""feature"" that I have a nearly unoticable issue with is", when playing low-frequency music such as some dubstep songs, the effects processor, when enabled, will have a high-pass cut of 20Hz that you cannot change other than to turn the effect off. Other than that the full frequency range is sent through, which is fine for me :]Not much to say other than I seriously got way more than what I paid for!

Wow! Just... Wow! Whether you're a scratch mixer wanting to level up or a club DJ wanting more options to flex your skills, this baby has you covered. I'm a Reggae/Dub sound system and, whilst at first attracted to the kill switch options for my low end, have found myself experimenting with the sampler and FX with great results. This has so many bells and whistles for the price and adaptable to most needs. Highly recommended!

I bought this to replace my faulty Numark dxm 09 and i was not dissapointed. It has so many features I don't think i can list them all. The slider knobs feel pretty sturdy. The sound quality is crystal clear. I love the recorder effect, record a sample and play it when you want. The flanger effect is also pretty awesome. This mixer is packed with so many features and customization I cant fit it on here. Only down side is it takes some getting used to the setup. For instance you have to assign the cross fader to each channel and also assign the effects to each channel. Not a deal breaker in anyway for me, but sometimes i forget to do it until im playing. The reason i gave it a four star in durability is because it is extremely light for its size and dont know how its ... MoreI bought this to replace my faulty Numark dxm 09 and i was not dissapointed. Really Nice and reliable Mixer

I maintain and install club audio and lighting equipment and I would not hesitate to install this in a biggest club (with a backup of course, as the show must go on). Most Clubs spec Pioneer or denon because they say that if brand name mixer brakes during a show they have their behind covered and (I say forget the overpriced brand names but always have a backup even for pioneer or denon).. I had this mixer now for about 4 years (maybe longer) and this mixer sounds like the brand names and has good build quality and I used it many times without a backup. Overall the way stuff is build today, if it does not brake during first 24hours it will last a lifetime, save your money and buy this, it will serve you good long time and sound quality won't disappoint.

The best sounding effects of any pro dj mixer

I've had this mixer since it came out. I've gotten into arguments with people vs pioneer. This is my take... The EFFECTS on this are the cleanest I've ever heard. The effects also allow you to run effects on only one band (mid/high) making them even more crisp. Auto BPM works flawlessly as well. Even today, the effects sound wayyy better than pioneer & even the RMX 1000 which I recently purchased only to be disappointed because the DDM4000 effects are much cleaner. This unit impressed me so much I'm now trying to develop a standalone effects unit based on its DSP circuitry inside. I subtracted one star because it is not built nearly as well as pioneers. Every time it left my house, some function stopped working and i had to replace it :( but then again I didn't have ... MoreI've had this mixer since it came out. yes the DDM4000 has been around a while but it still represents good value for money. built in sampling & effects plus loads of connectivity inc midi.Headphone socket location is a bit dumb but it all works like it should.Mine's worked faultlessly for a year now at both indoor & outdoor events. its been rattled around in a van & pulled off a table by the leads & trampled on by my Dobermans & it still works fine.not overly keen on the finish but it's not showing any signs of wear so i can't really complain.average build but massive spec for bargain money. works for me :)
