1000 Watts? Doesn't sound like it.

I have owned a plethora of Behringer speakers and I am generally a huge fan of their products. For some reason this one fell short. In comparison to the 300 Watt variety, this speaker doesn't pack as much punch as it should if it is boasting 1000 Watts. I owned and extensively used a pair of the older variety which were active and had on board 300 watts of power. Those old ones were BASSY, packed an enormous punch for the wattage. I never even needed a sub when I had that pair of 15's. With this newer model, the on board amp begins clipping almost immediately after turning it up half way. What is the use of a speaker that can't even be turned up past 50% without risk of damage? On top of that the treble has massive volume compared to the low end. What is the use of a speaker that can't even be turned up past 50% without risk of damage? On top of that the treble has massive volume compared to the low end. I saw on the specs before purchase that the 1000 Watts are supposedly split with 700 to the woofer, 300 to the horn. Well...I'm not sure what went wrong, but this woofer sounds weak in my opinion. It doesn't even have HALF that bass response that those older ones had, when the older ones were only rated at 300 Watts. I'm very confused as to why this is, as the speaker seems to operating as intended. Adjusting the EQ balance on the back of the speaker, or on the mixer doesn't help, as any adjustment to offer more bass into the mix has the speaker immediately showing the "clip" light again. I have no idea why, but where I am normally more than satisfied with Behringer speakers, I am seriously let down by this one. I understand that in most circumstances, these speakers are intended to be paired with subs anyway. That's fine, I just hardly ever use my systems in large enough environments to require subs, and up until now, haven't needed the extra push on the low end. Perhaps this is a way to force us to purchase more products? Making the low end inadequate? Who knows? I'm going to write completely positive reviews about all the great Behringer speakers I've had directly after finishing this one. Unfortunately, this model is a fail in my opinion.

Awesome value!

I already had 2 of the B112Ws which I bought used and absolutely love, but I dont really need the Bluetooth feature. The B112D has the exact same specs, just no Bluetooth. Pro Audio Star had an incredible price and so I bought 2 of them. These speakers are incredible as stage monitors, very powerful and super clean sound. They are so versatile as well, I have used them as mains too, either by themselves or on poles connected to subs. And they are amazingly light and easy to carry around and small. One of the best purchased I have made. Behringer has got a super star in this speaker!

Great sound on guitar and piano.
10 May 2022

I found one of these in a skip bin. Had it repaired at EAV Morley and now use it for acoustic guitar and electric piano in church. Capacitors were faulty. At home in a small room the sound was boomy but in a bigger room with some tweaking of the horn and sub controls the sound is very natural and smooth. Bluetooth also works well although it makes a loud beeping sound when you power on as some smaller Bluetooth speakers do. Actually the sound is better than my old JBL Eon speakers which had similar specs. Haven’t used the wireless mic thing yet.

I would buy this product again and recommend it.

I bought this unit as an Open Box to match my existing B115D I had purchased a few years ago and really like. The speaker arrived without a power cable, pretty marked up and the woofer grill pushed out of one side. Still had the factory stickers on it, so I am assuming it was a demo or something. I removed the grill and installed it correctly and the scuffs are ok with me. Functionally it works fine. They did change the grill color from black to dark grey which doesn't exactly match my other one but oh well. These speakers sound great, are dependable and inexpensive.

Love These
8 March 2023

I bought 2 of these to replace my aging PA system and compliment my MGX10 Yamaha mixer. They sound great and fill the bill whether I am doing solo work or playing w a small combo. Easy to carry, less footprint than the old system, great sound, easy to set up and tweak the tone from the mixer. Handles instruments well (acoustic guitar, harmonica, cajun); vocals are crisp and clean. These can be used as monitors also. Design allows for sideways tilt back. And plenty of power.

This thing has been awesome!

I really like this speaker. I play both solo acoustic and with a band. For acoustic gigs, I can plug my mic in one input and my guitar in the other. Pulls double duty as monitor and main on a stand. Plenty of power for all kinds of different room sizes, plus an unpowered out to plug into a bigger room's existing PA, already mixed and ready to go! I have played through different powered speakers with this setup, and for the price, this thing is incredible! Lightweight, easy to use. There is a wireless setup for Behringer mics, but I haven't used it, as I am a Shure man. With my band, I use unpowered monitors up front, and use this little beauty for my drummer, so he has independent control on monitor level. So far, so good! I may buy another couple of these if this ... MoreI really like this speaker. I play both solo acoustic and with a band. Universal power supply OKfor 100-240 volts 50-60Hz

These a great value for the money. I think Behringer gets a bad rap for quality and reliability. This is my third set of Behringer powered speakers and I haven't had any problems with any of them.Sound quality is OKUniversal power supply is a great plus if you travel. These will run on 100 -240 volts 50-60 HzUnits lacks a handle, but they are very light so it's not a big deal300 watts......? No way, maybe 80 watts total. Behringer doesn't publish the specsDon't expect a lot of bass. Nice vocal monitor or small PA speakers

Very Happy. Just not perfect.

I've been all around audio. Car, home, studio, and some pro audio experience at my local church. I'm an amateur musician, and have recorded and mastered my own songs. All this to say that I've been exposed to a lot of different types of audio and sound equipment and listened to music in many different ways. I have long had a stigma against PA systems because I've always heard them turned WAY up and they always sound like garbage but this speaker really changed all that for me. This was my first Pro audio Loudspeaker and I loved it so much I bought 3 more and a B1200D subwoofer from Behringer to complete the sound system.Sound quality:The sound is very natural and really quite soothing with the right type of music. This was my first Pro audio Loudspeaker and I loved it so much I bought 3 more and a B1200D subwoofer from Behringer to complete the sound system.Sound quality:The sound is very natural and really quite soothing with the right type of music. Straight out of the box this needed next to 0 adjustment when playing outdoors. At high volumes (Greater than 95db at 1 meter when measured on axis to the woofer) the speaker begins to sound just a bit top end heavy. This can easily be accounted for with the treble knob on the speaker.Loudness:The SPL rating is 122DB @ 1Meter. That is completely true if you are playing a 1khz test tone in a controlled environment and trying to max out the speaker. I managed to get 118DB doing this outside and it was absolutely deafening. After some tests with a db meter I could realistically get 98-102 DB at 1 meter out of this playing music through an Iphone connected with a di box to the XLR input. It is still very loud and is painful if you put your face right in front of it at 1 meter away. When I got the B1200D subwoofer to take care of the low end for this speaker I connected the B110D to the output with the high pass filter and it sounds even clearer and can now reach 106DB at 1 meter with music because it is no longer trying to reproduce bass frequencies. Now I cannot get directly in front of them that close.Terrific build quality. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because you can only connect one sound source at a time. The larger B112D has 2 channels.

Well worth the money
17 March 2023

I bought these speakers over a year ago. (Yes, I wait that long to review) I thought they sounded good, but wanted to make sure they were roadworthy. In a nutshell, they are. Paired them with BX1500 subs, and we have a system that is capable of almost any show. They sound great and have really been solid speakers after lots of use. I can't recommend them enough. You can't go wrong with these speakers.
