Solid bit of kit! I've read some reviews that plugging into the USB A ports on an Mac Studio doesn't work, but I'm using a 2019 MacBook Pro and USB A to C adaptor and it works fine. Does exactly what it needs to do taking a mix of line and instrument level devices plugged in and presenting that information to Logic Pro. Haven't had the opportunity to plug a Mic in yet. Can not fault it.

Second time I have purchased one of these after regretting selling my first one. Eight proper xlr/trs inputs, decent preamps, phantom power, midi, digital expansion, two independent headphone channels in a compact module, robustly constructed. Have used it as a stage box with MainStage software on a MacBook for small band gigs, and as a home studio interface. I used the ADAT links to expand to 16 channels with a focusrite octopre. Some people are sniffy about behringer, but I love their stuff!used an

I have gone through a large number of audio interfaces over the years in my home studio. I thought I had landed on a winner when I bought a Focusrite Saffire Pro 40. Unfortunately, that unit was flaky every time I had to unplug it from my computer, making it ill suited to mobile recording. As I've always had good luck with Behringer equipment, I bought a UMC 1820 thinking at this price I have nothing to lose. Within a month I had sold the Focusrite, and bought a small UMC 202HD to use as well (it sits on my desk and runs my studio monitors, and records small projects that don't require me to bring the big box out). The 1820 is rock solid. It performs well every time. There is almost zero setup. I keep it in a road case, along with a Focusrite Octopre and a ... I have no trouble setting up and recording eight to sixteen tracks simultaneously into my laptop. The sound quality is amazing. Maybe I've heard slightly better mic preamps, but not for less than twice this cost, and even then it's a minute improvement. At this price point I couldn't ask for a better sounding or easier to use audio interface. I have been working in my home studio since 2000, and in that time I have never discovered a better interface than this device.

Purchased the UMC1820, along with an ADA8200 to expand to 16ch input. All works fantastically, very clean input with pretty much no noise. Easy install on Windows 11 and logically named inputs made it easy to setup in my DAW of choice (Audition). Recording 9 drum mics simultaneously in independent channels works flawlessly and sounds great - I was concerned there might be latency between the two units but I haven't had any issues on a ~2 year old 'ok spec' laptop. Overdubs with guitar/bass plugged directly into the UMC1820 sound very clean as well. If purchasing this combination, you'll need to buy an optical cable separately to connect the ADA8200 into the UMC1820 (using the ADAT setting on the ADA8200), but this was easy to find at Jaycar and less than $10 ... The two devices cost me less than $750 all up (on sale and including separate purchase of optical cable) and gives you 16ch independent input, I think you'd be hard pressed to find anything else with that many inputs at that price point, and the audio quality is great for home recording.
I have had this 3 months and love it. I have waited to review this to see how I really felt.I use Studio One and wanted multiple inputs. The inputs are very clear and have no noise, even when cranked up.I like the fact that all inputs have - Iine/inst and Pad.There are two independent headphone jacks that can be assigned to outputs 1/2 or 3/4, with separate volume control. The headphone outputs have a lot of power. Even when playing acoustic drums I barely turn them up halfway. It can be expanded by another 8 ins/outs using ADAT.I added a used Behringer ADA8000 Pro-8 using an optical cable and it worked perfectly. This allowed me to set the units across the room from each other with just one optical and headphone cable.I am running an windows 10 desktop with an ... I haven't had any driver or compatibility problems at all. I was able to set the buffer as low as 64 with no problems.I have several older 2 input interfaces and this sounds so much better.I was considering several different interfaces. I felt that the Focusrite and Presonus would have been reliable, but were out of my price range. The Tascam interfaces were appealing, but there were so many concerns about the drivers.I have several Behringer products and feel that they are a good brand despite the feelings many have.Unlike a couple other interfaces I have, I am able to adjust the settings and allow my DAW, chrome and the media player to share the interface at the same time. This makes multi-tasking possible.I think there was a code for Tracktion included in the purchase, but I think Traction may already be free. When I registered there was a link to download some vst effects and instruments. I think most of these were also free items. I didn't set it up since I already use Studio One.The only complaint is that the bundle of software might not be as much as comes with other interfaces. For the price and features of the device I feel that extra software isn't needed.
This interface is mid. Sounded great when I first got it a little over a year ago. As time has passed I've had to crank the gain more and more to get my gain structure right. It feels like a constant battle between noise and distortion. Now in order to get an SM57 to sound good I have to set the gain to max... People on discord complain about how quiet my mic is. My drivers are up to date, this thing just doesn't have the power I need.
You can’t go wrong with these USB audio devices. My well used but still work ears can’t distinguish between the Behringer kit and other devices costing nearly twice as much. And Andertons are almost giving them away at the moment and their service is as always impeccable.I’ve had the 4 input one for ages without a single issue and I’ve bought the 8 input version to use live on stage with my band through Logic Pro X as a live mixer. It’s just so easy and sounds top notch.ThanksMike Thornton
I am currently using this as my primary interface in my studio where I record mostly rock, folk and electronic music. I bought this unit while I was looking for something that would serve as a cheap substitute while I save up for the higher end audio interfaces. I saw many positive reviews online about this unit but did not expect to be so pleasantly surprised when I received it and put it to work. The unit feels good and sturdy, the knobs and buttons are smooth and the signal is clear and consistent. One thing that used to drive me crazy about some other interfaces I used to own was that they would not sync 100% of the time on my intel based macbook. This unit has not given me any syncing issues at all.I highly recommend this product as I would have expected ...
