I bought this direct box sometime around 3 years ago for my DJ set up. I was to perform at a local church's Christmas music production and I needed a direct box to handle 2 channels and something cheaper. Found this at a local guitar/pawn shop and bought it on the fly. I use this for all of my performances now for events, parties, and weddings. I love how versatile this DI can be, especially when you constantly forget to buy 9V batteries for it, lol. You can link the DI box in ways to use it as parallel inputs/outputs or as a thru output to send to an amp or monitor. As a Sound Engineer, I use this Direct Box for stereo based instruments like laptops and iPads used for stems/tracks as well as for those that use stereo keyboards or multiple keyboards.

Can't complain about the sound quality or the price. I use this on stage to connect my laptop to the sound system. It delivers deep bass drops without distortion, even way below the sonic range (I know this because I also use a Buttkicker). The main problem with this is that the left and right channels bleed together a bit. At one of the churches I play at, we use a click track because we play with some loops. On the left channel, I send the loops; on the right channel, I send the click. If the click is too loud, it can be heard in the mains during quiet passages. Totally not acceptable. If I were using this for other purposes where that bit of bleed wouldn't be as critical, it would be irrelevant to me. I've used other copies of this model and they have the same ... MoreCan't complain about the sound quality or the price. I use this on stage to connect my laptop to the sound system. I was shopping for an inexpensive impedance matcher / gain stage, just to plug my Boss GT-6B right into a power amp without any extra gear. Wanting to spend the least coin on the setup, I called on Uli Behringer again-- having had good luck with his standalone rack modeler, it couldn't be too timid. The results were a little better than expected for gain addition; and you won't be disappointed with the noise floor either. Now I can just flop the pimple and a couple of XLR patches in the gig bag, and play through just about any powered speaker or monitor in a pinch. Truly a winner for the money, it'll put plenty of gain in your floor brain! That and the case is almost stomp proof like everything else @ Behringer.

This DI is pretty darn quiet and you get an ACTIVE DI with ATTENUATION SWITCH, PAD, GROUND LIFT, PHANTOM OR 9V POWER, SWITCHABLE TO STEREO, AND MORE. EVEN IF you don't need a box, buy one as its a dual, takes 2 unbalanced signals and makes them balanced, so they can go right into a mixer or whatever requires balanced signals. It can be used to get rid of hum problems from keyboards, effects units, ground loops ect... You can't beat it for the money. Forget what you heard about BEHRINGER in the past.. there stuff is pretty awesome now. Keep on rocking on.. !! !! !!
Lots of people in the professional audio scene are anti-Behringer and I believe this is unfounded. This is a brilliant "get you out of the s***" box for those occasions where someone has a ground loop somewhere, be it a noisy laptop power supply or a badly screened guitar amp that you need to convert to balanced. They are good for anything that needs shifting over to a balanced signal really, the options to invert and remove the ground are good strings in the 'stop the signal buzz' bow. They take power off the 48v phantom power from the mixer or off a PP3 battery, they last lierally years of use on a PP3 if turned off when not in use. You can spend a lot of money on other brands of DI box and frankly, they arent any better - I highly reccomend these and of the dozen ... MoreLots of people in the professional audio scene are anti-Behringer and I believe this is unfounded. Reccomended? Absolutley
I have to say that I was more than pleased with this thing. I wanted a direct box, but didn't want to break the bank. Price was right on this, and it works like a dream. And it can be powered by a 9V battery, or from the phantom power from your board. Plus, the splitter works great as well. This is the first product I've purchased. I will be buying more.
One of the best DI boxes. Easy to use with control settings available. This DI box alow either phantom or 9V battery power. I used this to connect my two guitars (Electric and E. acoustic) to Behringer XR 18, and the sound is excellent. Lastly, the price is so reasonable. Hard to beat in the market. I highly recommended this to anyone.
Great value for what it is. Shame it’s battery only and getting them in is difficult and fiddly. You’ll need a small screwdriver and tiny fingers. But otherwise does the job at low cost. The two channels is a great touch too. Also with a metal case feels like good quality for the price.
I use this direct box for a variety of things on my DJ gigs, On-stage performances with tracks and click, and to my home studio. This is literally the most powerful and versatile direct box I have used. Other than this DI box, I also own the Radial Engineering ProDI, Whirlwind IMP2, and the Berhinger ULTRA-DI DI100. I love the linking functions to this direct box because of how I can set it up and split my instrument tracks from my click and guide tracks when I am performing by myself. You don't have to worry about buying 9V batteries nonstop, when you are using a sound system with 48V preamp phantom power. It comes in very handy and I am loving it. Usually I have bad stuff to say about Behringer, but when a friend recommended this for my DJ rig for venues with a sound system already, I thought that I might as well try it out and I am not regretting it one bit. This DI here allows me to split my left and right decks from being stuck into one channel only and making it stereo. I definitely recommend this for any DJ.
this DI is deceptively small, yet very powerful. the double inputs, or the stereo output, all seem to work well. with the attenuator on 0 db my bass was booming! cutting it back to the 20 db setting pulled my output so we had to increase the gain at the sound board. this little box has a lot of dynamic range. at 0 db, however, we did experience a bit of distortion, which very possibly came from the overload on the speakers more than the box. i don't know the answer to that. all-in-all, this little box is very effective at what it is designed for and we will be using it as long as it lasts!
