Yes it has many features, yes it's affordable, but this thing hums like a freezer. Don't be tempted by the price. It's better to pay more then buy your equipment twice. Don't do it man!

I have tried behringer's "top of the line" ampliphiers, their mixers, tube compressors, and now their DI. All in All I have to say garbage. I am pretty upset with their claims and how decieving they are. This bad boy sound like noisy bacon. Took it out of the set up and perfect crystal clear tones. Go with a better name brand.

..but mine works great. I plug my Motif, Roland and Triton racks (I use Midi'ed M-Audio controllers) into the inputs & direct out to the snake for our classic rock gigs. My FOH soundman can control each board. I gang the output links together with Y cords and have one 1/4" out to my onstage JBL Eon. Everything's in one SKB rack (except the Eon). No freezers, bacon, spagetti cords or other food service problems; just clear signal. Maybe the other guys got bad units, it happens.

Perfect little DI
16 June 2006

Almost everything about this DI is great. The XLR outputs on the front make it really easy to feed the DI output into a mic preamp, using standard mic cables. dB meters on each channel are very helpful for tracking down problem instrument setups, and the +20db/-40dB (in 20dB increments) gain/attenuation options are a lifesaver. I can hook acoustic/electric guitars, electric guitars, basses, even unbalanced mics into this and produce a clean, hum-free, balanced signal for my preamps.Only complaint: instrument inputs are on the back, and feeding inst. level signal through your line-level patchbay is generally a bad idea. Just get some dedicated cables or run an extension out from behind your rack.If you plan to record any instruments, and you don't need amp modeling ... MoreAlmost everything about this DI is great. You get what you pay for
16 June 2006

I suppose I was looking for a miracle in this product, I mean a 4 channel active DI at this price is pretty remarkable. "But what about quality?" you ask yourself. These DI's are noisy. It was not circumstantial, because I also had some higher quality Klark Teknik and BSS DI's and replacing the behringer with these immediately solved the noise problems. I'm sure these would work fine for small bar gigs and the like, but anything even approaching a pro gig, you should look at something else.

I tried to use this unit for small venue gigs with a six-piece band. I expected too much. It is difficult to use because the inputs are on the back. The attenuation switches are located right next to the input jacks and are easily accidentally activated. Hook ups are aggravating. On my unit the no. 1 channel stopped working after 60 days, four gigs, and six rehearsals. The retailer won't deal with the problem so I have to go through the manufacturer and get warranty service. Save yourself some trouble and choose a different unit.
