The adapter has a small cord which provides some flexibility compared to an adapter that has no cord and is more for a direct plug in. It’s still small enough to add to a laptop travel bag without adding much space. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for an easy way to connect your older devices to a new laptop.

But, for a Mac Mini and an external monitor with plenty of USB-C I/O together, these adapters are great.

This Belkin adapter has no offensive odor and almost no odor at all.The adapters and cables of a well-known competitor have a terrible smell that its store tells me is normal. I returned those adapters and happily purchased this Belkin adapter.

With my new iMac, I only get USB Type C connectors, despite that I still have Type A connectors on my devices; This little gadget makes it possible to use those older devices with my new computer. I actually bought two of them--one is for the USB hub I previously purchased, since its main connector is Type A, and the other is for spare devices like some of my outsized flash drives (which normally would have trouble fitting into a port due to their shape and size). Although this adapter is much shorter than Apple's own item, it costs less and does the job perfectly well in its own right. It's just right for certain tasks involving legacy devices on new hardware.
This device is a good extension on any USB-C phone. It easily allows you to upload and download files between devices, connect an external hard drive, or even charge another device.I used this with a pair of USB headphones, it transferred plenty fast to support high quality audio to that device. There was no stuttering, and playback went on without any issues.The flexible cable is much more convenient than the small adapter you can attach to the bottom of your device, as it lets you position much more conveniently.Overall, I have had no issues with this product, and its nice that it supports USB 3.0 as well.
I trusted Belkin ever since I work with cables. You can always depend on them no matter how rugged you used your cables during your travel for demonstration of meetings through different platforms, zoom or WEBEX. This cable very dependable.

It could literally be 1/3 its size and just be an adapter without a cable, or it could have a decent length, like 6-12 inches of actual cable between the two ends.With the length that it is (i'd guess 5 inches long, didnt measure it) it makes it a little more awkward to use and store. The cable itself is stiff, and I dont want to fold it in half to store it in my bag for worries about breaking anything inside, and the stiffness makes it awkward while it comes out of my computer with anything else attached to it, because it sticks straight out and only slightly bends.However, that being said, it works correctly for both data and charging purposes. Not all Type-C OTG adapters work for gamepads on tablet and smartphone devices. The Insignia one on this site does not, it's also half the cost. Other than price there's nothing to tell them apart... But the higher price point shows here in quality. I've tried multiple adapters, Samsung, Insignia, Anker... But -only- with Belkin did my phone recognize my HORI Fightpad and my MadCatz TE stick. Worth the investment to ease frustrating purchases. The USB-C world is still a little renegade, and it's hard to trust manufacturers these days to cover all the bases, even niche ones like mine. Belkin came through this time. Good work.
