The off-road world is a dirty, tough place. Chunks of rock and dirt mean business when launched by roosting tires, and even when it's muddy, hitting the ground is always hard. The MX-9 Mips packs all these features into one helmet, delivering exceptional value and pro-caliber performance.

Unfortunately, I tried this helmet on it my local dirt bike shop. The Large felt really tight. I was concerned because I currently own a Large, older model. I figured they might have changed their sizing. It seemed more than just the old padding being packed down. I looked at the Bell website and followed their instructions to measure my head. I did this and I measured an XL. The helmet arrived and I tried it on and it felt great. I wore it the next day on a trail ride and quickly learned the helmet was too big. I had the chin strap tight but it moved around and obstructed my vision. I assume I cant return it at this point so I feel pretty defeated with this experience. I've been riding for over 40 years and had multiple helmets. Currently I have a AGV modular, Sidici Modular, and the Bell MX-9 Adventure. I have a long oval shaped head, but very few manufacturers make helmets for long oval heads. This helmet fits me extremely well. It's true to size (unlike the Sidici that runs two sizes too small). The ventilation is excellent. I also got it with the Photochromatic Protint Shield, which I like very much. It's not perfect, but does what I want it to do. It could be a little darker. Also, when you have the shield up in the sun there are light and dark areas in the shape of the bill. Last week I road with a group of eight in very dry conditions on over 100 miles of gravel and dirt roads. My only complaint is the the wind and road noise, but for the price it's worth it. I would absolutely buy this helmet again. I haven't tried it with goggles, but that's next and I'll try to remember to update my review.

This helmet fits a little snug with a balaclava on, but it has loosened up a bit with use. This is my main snowmobiling helmet, and it is comfortable enough to wear all day. I have gotten a sore neck from the trails being rough, but more breaks on the trail side seemed to help. It is not a cold helmet to use for snowmobiling, and the noise level is quiet. You will want to be sure to have a quality balaclava with a breath deflector though. Overall I am happy with this helmet and would recommend for people with large heads.

Really love the Bell MX-9 Moto Presence as a secondary helmet for summer and urban riding, but as many others have indicated, I would not suggest it for prolonged high speed (above 55 mph) riding, with the beak on.I rode with it for over 100 miles since getting it, and prefer it for short rides around town in the New York City heat, and shorter hauls. However, it is tremendously louder than my Shoei GT-Air. I've been riding for over 20-years, and have always been a Shoei rider. So, that's maybe biased, but my Shoei is too hot for the summers. So, this MX-9 is a good option if I wore earplugs. Otherwise, I would be sweating balls.Overall performance, good. Overall sound quality, poor. Overall cooling and lightness, amazing. Comfortable. Rode 4 warm days 5-6 hours day on Hatfield McCoy trails. No complaints easy to take apart and clean. Trails were dusty. I was in SxS behind windshield so cannot comment on airflow accurately. Reasonable price. Will be using it often. Delivered next day. Ordered large. Measurement on edge. Needed XL. New one came quickly. The large fits my wife comfortably, so I kept it for her. Thanks guys
I Changed my mind at least a dozen times. Rocky mountain has the best selection. Finally went with the Bell. They been around a long time and have proven they are a great helmet. I wasn't looking for any thing too flashy so I went with the Presence Black / White plus it had the mips technology and removable liner system without breaking the bank. After ordering I wasn't sure what to expect as far as looks because the pictures on any website I looked at just presented this helmet as just "Meh". When I opened the box and got a real look I was certain I made the right decision, this helmet is a thing of beauty the photos don't do it any justice at all. It fits well.Seems well built after a couple falls and the liner snaps in and out the way it should without falling ... MoreI Changed my mind at least a dozen times. Great helmet, purchased a large judging by the size guidelines.Fits great overall on the chrome dome, but the cheek pads were way too tight.Mind you, I am no lightweight.I made some slight modifications to the cheek pads and am a happy camper. Very much recommended. The ventilation is amazing. So good that it might make winter rides too frigid. But I have yet to find out.
This helmet was my first ever helmet, and it was supposed to be the perfect all rounder to accommodate on road and off-road riding. And it did exactly just that. Perfect with goggles, perfect with a visor, looks amazing with and without the off-road peak on it, availability online for a tinted visor or even a transition visor, low noise, good compatibility with a Cardo system, ECE rating with MIPS, I can easily say this is a gem of a helmet. The only minor problem i would say there is is the weight, which isn't even that bad. I will give a warning to those worried about the sizing. It fits true to size, however the padding is VERY dense and at first will appear like it won't fit you. Overall, the best helmet I think I could have gotten, regardless of the price.
As far as Dennis Kirk is concerned, they are great! The first helmet I ordered was an XL and it was a bit small. Dennis Kirk’s return policy was great. Return documents were included in the original packaging. Spoke with customer service representative and shipped back the same day. Four days later received the 2XL helmet. As far as the Bell helmet is concerned, I like the helmet very much. My only complaint is that the visor seems to catch the wind and pull my head back. I have been experimenting with the position of the visor and have alleviated the issue to a point. Additionally, the helmet seems to run small to size. I have worn XL helmets all of my adult life and this is the first helmet that was to small in that size. as a guy in his mid 50's getting back into riding and maybe racing again, i was looking for cheaper gear. As i needed everything from helmet to boots. I had always had Bell helmets in the past and had great luck with them. So i was willing to spend a liitle bit more for a Bell and sacrafice on the other gear i was shopping for. So when i saw this one was marked down i jump on it and bought it right away. I have only had a chance to ride with it a couple times so far, and everything about it is what i expected. To give you an idea of how long it has been since i bought a Bell MX helmet, i will enclose a pic of the last new i bought in the 90's...hahah After i have a chance to use it more i will update this review.
