Paying homage to the Motocross/Supercross legend that is Jeremy McGrath, the Bell MX-9 Mips McGrath Showtime helmet is based on his famous Troy Lee designs helmet with Monster Energy sponsorship and logos in black and green. The MX-9 MIPS is a lightweight injected polymer composite shell off-road helmet with 3 shell sizes and EPS sizes for a more personalised and aerodynamic (and much lighter) fit as well as MIPS technology (multi-directional Impact Protection system) that reduces rotational forces that can result from certain impacts. This has Bell's velocity-flow ventilation system for cooling and comfort along with a moisture-wicking removable/washable air channelled comfort liner, integrated vented roost guard and an EPS-lined chin bar.

Highly recommended. Perfect fit for me re intermediate oval (LG), very comfortable liner, works much better with goggles than my other off-road helmets, chin buckle is in ideal location, appreciate the MIPS for safety, ... looks GREAT with the RSDesign graphics ... I am now a big Bell Helmet fan. Looking to replace my current adventure helmet with the similar Bell Adv model.

I really like the Bell helmets, they have a nice opening for your googles and are pretty comfortable. The inner lining is removable for cleaning, this is my 3rd one. I have a hard time spending big money on a helmet that I seem to always drop or something happens to. If I was careful and things never happened, I would love to try a 6D to protect the noggin but I cannot pay and then drop the thing in a month and be crestfallen.

This is my 2nd Bell MX-9... the 1st one was returned for warranty when I noticed the EPS foam under the shell was cracking after about a year. I had no issues returning it after a year for a full refund, which is awesome! I was going to try a TLD helmet instead of the 2nd MX-9, but after ordering one in the same size as the Bell (and using TLD's size chart to verify fit), I received it and couldn't even get it on my head. So, I decided to try another MX-9 as they fit me perfect and overall I was happy with the 1st one.Pro's: value (hard to beat this helmet for the price), MIPS, fit, comfort, stylingCon's: Limited Airflow: gets hot on hot days and the padding gets soaked in sweatGraphics: I've noticed Bell's graphics tend to be slightly off centered sometimes ... Great helmet. Only a few qualms but nothing that would drop a star. The graphics are a little darker than what I thought they would be, but honestly I like that better. My head size was borderline between the medium and large so I went with medium. Overall the fit around my head is good but the comfort pads around my face are a little tight.
Excellent fit. I had purchased a different brand and two sizes above my head size still didn't fit my shape. I find bell to have a pretty neutral fit.Its a bit close to the nose, but if fitted right it won't have space to hit your nose. If you prefer a longer chin/mouth area to not be so close to your nose this isn't the right one for you. If you don't mind it then its perfect and I like the style better than the longer look.
I bought this helmet because I wanted my next helmet to have MIPS, the price was right, and I thought Ryan F9's recommendation to try an MX lid for commuting was a good idea. I'd say this helmet is my new go-to for riding in town most of the time now.PROS: super comfy IMO, like the liner material, easy to get on and off, lightweight, works well with my glasses (tho the arms are pretty thin on them). I also really like the looks of the Grey/HiViz Offset colourway I bought, and with the visor on it is pretty visible in traffic without being a yellow gumball. The airflow is fantastic; feels nearly like wearing a 3/4. The visor can be adjusted easily while riding by smushing it up or down, and I didn't find it pulled my head around when shoulder-checking at any kind ... The visor can be adjusted easily while riding by smushing it up or down, and I didn't find it pulled my head around when shoulder-checking at any kind of speed you would do in the City.CONS: Just like Ryan said, it's pretty dang loud without earplugs, and your face will get wet in the rain (duh). The shell is also bigger than my other helmet (HJC IS-17) despite the head size being identical, so it is a tad more bobble-headed looking. Taking the visor on and off feels fiddly and a bit cheap, but not unreasonably so considering how cheap the helmet is to buy.FIT: I have a 58cm intermediate oval, got a Medium, and it fits perfect. As mentioned, I can put my glasses on wearing the helmet with no problem. I bought a pair of 100% Accuri 2 goggles to use with the helmet, and they fit the shape of the eyeport perfectly - only small gap is below the goggles where the chin bar juts out.
I bought this largely because it was on sale for Black Friday. I actually purchased a couple of cool design helmets - but most didn't fit - I have a large head and needed a real XL fit. The Bell fit well, and looks amazing. And the build quality and thickness of protection is significantly better than other helmets that I tried.
Love the colors of the helmet on the red, white and blue. Been happy with it overall but I am disappointed with how easy it scratches the coating after riding in the woods and having the usual tree branches and stuff wack into you. My previous helmet didn't seem to get scratched as badly. Fit with my SENA speakers is a little on the tight side but I don't think that's really an issue on the helmet itself.
As far as Dennis Kirk is concerned, they are great! The first helmet I ordered was an XL and it was a bit small. Dennis Kirk’s return policy was great. Return documents were included in the original packaging. Spoke with customer service representative and shipped back the same day. Four days later received the 2XL helmet. As far as the Bell helmet is concerned, I like the helmet very much. My only complaint is that the visor seems to catch the wind and pull my head back. I have been experimenting with the position of the visor and have alleviated the issue to a point. Additionally, the helmet seems to run small to size. It's kind-a show-boaty but at 20% off the price was right - also I really like the graphics, cool design with a matte finish. One complaint was the sizing guide on site. I picked a Large helmet but it was too tight and I had to return it and buy an X-Large. (BTW F9's return process was quick and easy). The only other complaint is that I find the visor area a little tight for my goggles but the over all fit is great so not a huge deal.
