I wear a Neotec2 for work, and decided I wanted a modular helmet for my personal riding, but wasn't excited about spending $800. I chose this Bell as a less expensive option that would still meet my criteria. What an excellent choice. This Bell SRT is actually better than the $800 helmet to me in a few ways. The face shield has a superior field of view, and feels better raising and lower the mask. The modular chin bar also feels better moving up and down. The shade visor is larger, darker and the switch is in a better location. The button to open the modular chin bar is in a better location. The Hart Luck design makes it look great. I had no problems installing a headset. The sizing is accurate. Just recently purchased my first touring bike and decided I would also try my first modular helmet. I have been waring helmets since 1971 and full full since 74. First brand name was a Bell, but have owned AGV, Arai, HJC, Nava, Nolan, Shoei, Suomy and X-Lite over the past 50 years which doesn't make me an expert but I do have some experience to compare this with other. I gave the helmet a four star rating because 3.5 wasn't available. For the cost of this helmet you get a nice fit by if you follow the sizing chart, although the newer Bell helmets seem to run smaller than they have in the past. Could be me, maybe my head has gotten fat. I have always worn medium helmets in the past in the bands list above, but with this SRT and my new Star Race both needed a large. ... MoreJust recently purchased my first touring bike and decided I would also try my first modular helmet. The SRT is comfortable last ride was just over 5 hours. The modular system works very well, opens easily when you want and you get a audible click when it is closed. The flip down visor works though it seems to restrict some of the ventilation from the chin vent. Ventilation over all is good in this helmet. For me the biggest negative is this helmet has a lot of wind noise above 50 MPH. If you don't spend much time at highway speeds it is not a problem and can be worn without earplugs. Keeping in mind his is a $400 helmet and it has been a very long time since I have purchased a helmet at that price which is at least half of what I would normally spend. All brands high end price helmets will to a much better job of cutting down wind noise which is why one pays so much more. Finally thoughts for the price it is a nice helmet and it serves the purpose it is built for, but most riders will find they want to ware earplugs. If you are looking for a perfect modular helmet than you will need to spend twice as much money and buy the Shoei.

I recently bought this helmet to replace my 5year old RPHA-11 HJC. My HJC was well used and was ready to be retired and I was also looking for some options on the new lid, namely being modular and having a drop-down visor. This helmet fit both of those criteria and was one of the few helmets that were actually available. I was skeptical to change helmets since my HJC fit my head so well, however the HJC was fading and the visor ratchet system had worn out so the visor would not stay open, despite replacing the ratchet a few years ago. The Bell helmet fits my head well and feels very secure. My only complaint is that it a bit tight on my cheek bones which is surprising since my head is fairly narrow. I have added a Cardo headset and it fits fine with adequate space for the ear pieces and boom mic. I also added a chromatic visor (donated by a good friend) which is an amazing add-on and a must-have for all my future helmets. I choose the “blackout” model but wish there was dark-flat pattern with some high-viz accents (maybe Bell’s designers will read this?). I recently took a 1,500km weekend ride on my Vstrom 1000 and I have no complaints about the noise with this helmet. I was able to communicate fine with my riding partner at normal speeds however at about 110kph the noise started to affect my ability to hear through my Cardo which was not much different than my previous helmet.

I've had this helmet for a month or so and the last 2 days was the first time I was able to get out and ride while wearing. Fits true to size I wear a size 7 1/2 ball cap so I went with the Large and it fits well. Noise reduction is greatly reduced compared to my Biltwell Lane Splitter. I like that you can open and close vents but they don't seem to move much air. Drop down sunshade is nice wish it was just a bit darker. Detents in visor are great and the ease of opening the modular front is great as well. Tomorrow will be first ride with it at constant Highway speed. I have to say I'm very impressed with the comfort and style of this helmet. I also got it 100 dollars off which made the purchase a no brainer.
This is a very loud helmet with the wind howling and whistling through it. I added foam padding to the area near the ears which reduced the noise a lot. The space is there to fit a headset, so when empty it's a big air pocket that lets in noise. There are also 2 large gaps in the sun visor housing hinge by the ears. Unless you fill that with foam, thereby making the visor unusable, then there will still be some wind noise coming through. With ear plugs and adding foam padding, this helmet works for me, given that it's very comfortable in other respects. I also don't want to spend the $$ on a new helmet! Overall, I don't recommend this helmet and would choose something else with better noise control.
This is my second SRT Modular helmet. I bought the first helmet in Matte Black back in 2019 and it is still in excellent condition. I ride every day for about 10 months out of the year, both commuting as well as long tours. I decided on White for this helmet. If you ride frequently, it is good to have more than one lid. The craftmanship, fit and finish on the helmet is excellent. The balance is very good with the chin bar down and it carries its weight well. The optics are second to none and if you treat it kindly both the faceshield and dropdown visor will last the life of the helmet. It is the best helmet I have found if you wear glasses. In fact, I can put the helmet on without removing my glasses first most of the time. The air flow is good, but at the same time ... MoreThis is my second SRT Modular helmet. In fact, I can put the helmet on without removing my glasses first most of the time. The air flow is good, but at the same time subtle. Warm in the winter and decent in the summer. Wind noise has only been an issue in extreme windy conditions, but earplugs help that a lot. Dollar for dollar it is the best in the price range as far as Modular helmets go. Would I buy it again? Well, I just did and probably will again when my older lid gives up the ghost. If it isn't broke, stay with it. Is it the perfect helmet? Nothing is perfect in this world, but it does what it was designed for well.
The helmet is not necessarily bad, but the reviews led me to believe it's a great helmet for the money which is only partly true. I found the features and fit to be excellent, build quality average to above average and I felt good about my purchase. Even the fit was very comfortable, so I removed the stickers and went for a ride. This is where the excitement ended. While it was comfortable, great visibility and all around was suppose to be great - It's the nosiest helmet I've ever had. I tried to use it while riding 3 different bikes, and the noise above 25 mph is deafening in every case. Unfortunately I can't return it now because is has been 'used', but I caution other shoppers to be aware of the noise issues with this helmet. I have a fairly new full-face Bell Qualifier. but I wanted a bright yellow, visible helmet because as a bus driver I see (or don't see) too many bikers wearing black in winter, blending into the headlights of other cars. A yellow lid is the way to go for me and the Bell SRT modular flip-top helmet has a good colour range. So far I've found it to be a lot more comfortable than my Qualifier. I love the visor with its pin-lock and the drop-down sun visor. I fitted a Sena 5s communication device without any difficulty and a Ghost XL camera (shame the Bell logos are almost exactly where the accessories need to go, so you have a messy half hidden logo peeking out from the fixing points but it's the only way). You can hear air loudly with the vents open and very slightly with the vents closed. The helmet comes in the Bell drawstring bag and packaged very well.
I have only been out for about 2 hours since I received this helmet, but in that short time I realize it is very good value for the money .The only comparison is with a 10 yr old modular, but let me just say it is a huge leap ahead in quality and fit.It is quieter than the old one, more comfortable , lighter, and more features !My head measured between 62 -63 CM , the 2xl fits like it was made for my head.I had tried new helmets ranging from $225- over $1100, but none fit my head like this one does.So far all the features work well on it ,the tinted inner visor is a little stiff to operate, but not problematic. This helmet fit great, and it seems to be very well-made. However, I own two other bell helmets and two shoei helmets, Biltwell, HJC and a Harley branded one. This is by far the noisiest helmet I have ever owned. This one's going to be retired to my if I have a friend that needs a helmet shelf., I will probably never wear this one again. I went ahead and purchase another Shoei neo tec 2. I hope this saves someone else the pain of listening to this very very loud Helmet. I bought this helmet because the Two Lane Life and Thrasin' guys rock this helmet, figured it must be a good helmet, I was wrong. I'm not sure how they can tolerate the noise over the long distances they ride.
