Excellent quality. Sharp and durable. Cuts through fresh venison like butter. I use a cheaper boning knife for getting meat off bones and splitting joints, and save the meatcrafter for when I am slicing pure meat or cutting off silver skin. You have to be careful with this knife because it’s so sharp. The knife barely hit my thumb knuckle once and shaved off a nice flake of skin. Overall I am very happy with this knife.

Best Buy of the year, lands somewhere between a boning knife and a fillet knife. I use it more for the boning and trim knife while processing deer. Handle is great, edge is nice outta the box. Benchmade does a good job making a blade that will last, wish I’d got it sooner.
Didn't hold an edge long enough to even get through 1 deer, I have Victorinox knives and their edge lasts me multiply deer. For the price I am highly disappointed in the meatcrafter

One I use as my kitchen knife, the other sits in my hunting pack, and the third is a back-up in case I lose one or want to give one as a gift.I have owned countless hunting knives over the decades, many of them semi-custom or even full custom in a few cases. This knife tops them all in sheer practicality. The orange grip works great with wet/bloody hands and it provides significant insulating comfort when cutting up a critter in sub-freezing temperatures-unlike bone or hardwood handled knives.It holds its edge very well, touches up quickly and does not rust easily. Was unsure I wanted to spend $300 + on this knife but after receiving and using it’s definitely worth the money !! I then bought the station knife which was $500 and now may buy the 3 piece cutlery set from benchmade !! These knives are worth the money
