The results are in: this lunch box is truly leak-proof! At first, I hesitated to buy this because of the reviews that said it wasn’t as leak-proof as it claimed. However, I have followed the manufacturer’s directions of hand-wash only, and the rubber seals (between and around compartments) have stayed completely strong and leak-proof for me, even with liquid/soft foods (applesauce, yogurt, ranch dressing, etc.). I also make sure not to overfill the compartments. When I fill it, I leave about 1/8” of room at the top of each section, and that seems to help it to stay leak-proof as well. My toddler loves it, and it even started a Bentgo trend in her classroom. Highly recommend.

We used this lunch box 5 days a week and my nanny cleaned it promptly after the lunch box was brought home. After 5 months we started noticing the black spots in the rubber lining on the lid. Even after scrubbing , those spots never went and I started noticing more and more of these spots and then realized that it is actually MOLD. Though the box is functional and we loved it , due to the MOLD we had to toss it. Reducing my 5 stars to 2 stars. Hope this reaches to the customer service. I am attaching a few pictures as well. Not to mention this thing is heavy empty

A Must for Daycare/Preschool!

I like Bentgo due to their cute-ness as well as ease of cleaning. They are sturdy and can be used everyday/handles by my little ones. We used our Bentgo boxes everyday for daycare, and will be using them for preschool in the fall. My boys are 2 years old and they have been using them since they were 18 months old. The portion sizes are perfect for toddlers/preschoolers. I love packing their boxes every night!

Best for kindergartners!

I really liked this lunch box. I got it for my child who is kindergartner. Lunchbox corners are soft and non pointed. Colors are good. Best is the ketchup or anything inside the compartment stays intact and does not spill over to the other compartment. The reason why we got this one over other lunch boxes is it has inbuild compartments and easy for kids to just open and eat rather than spend time in taking care of multiple boxes. cleaning is easy, just throw it in the dish washer.

Fun and functional!

We love our Bentgo! Love the two-tone purple color and playing with food options for the different compartment sizes. Tons of Bentgo lunch ideas on Pinterest. It comes with little sticker name label as well. We have not had any leakage or latch issues in 4 weeks of use. Note: You do have to make sure the latches are completely shut to lock appropriately. Will only make that mistake once! I have also been washing it by hand (my personal preference) to ensure the heat from the dishwasher doesn’t damage the compartment seals.

Great product and even better customer service!

We’ve been using Bentgo boxes for three years now and our collection has grown over the years. So far, not one has broken or looks faded. My oldest Bento box started getting some discolouration years later and I reached out to Bento and they were quick to respond with tips on getting rid of the stain and were more than willing to send a replacement if all else failed.My husband was a bit apprehensive at first buying an expensive box for a toddler but he’s fully sold now and we don’t opt for any other brand anymore.

May get moldy and stained so pleade take into consideration

I love how many compartments there are and how tightly sealed it is! However, because of how thick it is, it does make it hard to keep the food inside cool. I tried the removal ice pack lunch box for my son too! On top of that, it gets stains and molded easily after a while if you don’t properly care for it. I’m not sure that I would recommend this to anyone because of the inside temperature, staining, molding, and limited space. I had mine for a year and got rid of it. I haven’t brought one since. This product specifically though! It looks great on picture but ideally the portions are for toddlers and snack size for kids. It may work for some and not others.

Not leakproof

This lunch container is fine is for an elementary-aged student, but carrying it creates a problem. There is no handle, nor a way to keep items cold, without inserting this box into a lunchbox/bag. That's fine, except the Bentgo is not leakproof, even when fully closed and latched properly. Therefore, unless kept perfectly flat all day (unrealistic from home to car to school to lunch to bus) the liquids leak out, getting all over the outer lunch box, seeping through the fabric and ruining it. The last thing I want to do at the end of the day is scrub applesauce or pudding out of lunchbox fabric. It's fine if you don't plan on packing liquids or fruit or vegetables with any sort of water content. Also, there's no place to include a drink. Would not buy again.

Service Matters!

I bought a Bentgo kids lunch box for my 3 1/2 year old grandson about 6 months ago and it worked great until I was informed by his school that the insulation was damaged and it smelled a little moldy. So I immediately reached out to customer service for a replacement because my grandson who is autistic looks forward to having that lunch box in his lunch bag every day. Customer service responded immediately and had another lunch box on its way to me as soon as I provided them with a proof of purchase. I would highly recommend this product to any parent or guardian who may be in a similar situation as myself.

Sturdy and durable

We have two of these that our young daughters have used at school for months now. They are easy for them to open and close and have been durable. Wish the compartments were a little bigger, but at least the largest one will hold a half a sandwich. You absolutely cannot put any kind of liquidy fruit, yogurt, pudding, or dip in this container. You will have a serious mess on your hands.
