Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line remains clear underwater which makes it virtually invisible to any nearby fish. This is important when fishing in clear water, where line visibility has the potential to spook a fish from your bait or lure. It is also useful if the fishing is shut down and you want to try some finesse-style fishing. Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line works because of the unique formula that refracts light similar to water. This line is rated to 80-pounds and comes with 30-yards, so you have leader material for at least 5 fishing rods. The super-strong, abrasive-resistant 80-pound line is suitable for large species such as marlin, tuna and giant trevally, so you can tighten the drag to recover stripped line. Fluorocarbon is a great leader material when fishing with braid. Simply connect the 2 lines with an Albright knot, or any other of the knots that create a strong connection between 2 lines. Berkley Vanish Fluorocarbon Line will give you a competitive edge over your mates, and they will be asking you what your secret is!

I did try another well-known brand thinking "what's the difference?" I bought the same weight. But the other broke off way easier, losing gear to snags over and over; snags that normally with the berkley I could work out. But the other just kept giving up too easy. To the point where I just stopped using it and have re-bought the berkley.

Been using nan o fil since it first came out. Never looked back. This stuff is strong, cast like nothing else, twist does not have any effect on it, does not wind knot or spring off the spool. Yes, there is a learning curve, but with a little thought it's a snap. I have never experienced the problems that some are reporting. Don't know why. Don't care. Works great for me. Wish I could get the 2# test larger spool, though.

Great value ! I use this fluorocarbon ( 25lb ) leader on 20lb braid. I throw tube jigs into heavy weeds on a MH spinning rod. I catch a lot of bass on this set up, and am impressed with the beating It takes and keeps on going.

This is the leader I use for Shad fishing in the spring, I fish mostly a tandem dart rig and while wading large rivers for these fish, if you go with the traditional 4 or 6 lb. test line you will break off a lot of darts while trying to hand land these fish, they are stronger than most people think. When they do those violent head shakes at your boots with the leader wrapped around your hand as you try to grab hold of them, tends to break leader lighter then 8 Lb. So this leader is heavy enough to solve that problem and still invisible enough to get bite after bite !!! THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB !!!
If you want an ultra-stiff leader, then this is for you. It’s way too thick compared to other leaders on the market. Knots are huge and won’t pass through guides. Line is tough and would probably stand up to most environments. This line is too stiff to effectively and consistently catch fish, because the bait doesn’t maintain a lifelike presentation. The only thing I’ll be using this for is hanging stuff around the house.
I'm not serious enough about fishing to warrant spending any more than necessary to get gear that won’t let me down when I do manage to get some precious fishing time in. When it comes to fishing line, I only use Berkeley Vanish, typically in the 6—15 pound range. Braid costs twice as much and requires an extra knot to a fluorocarbon leader anyway ... so I just spool-up with straight fluoro. I don't go through enough line to experiment with other brands and since I consistently out-fished my mates who were using plain nylon mono back in the eighties, I've never seen any reason to try anything else. It's invisible under water; casts and ties well; and is more abrasion-resistant and less elastic than regular mono, giving you better bite-feel. Berkley Vanish 100% fluorocarbon leader material is my go to leader for wade fishing the Texas coastal waters, particularly fishing around oyster beds, rocks, docks, pilings, etc. It ties up will to braid using my preferred double uni knot.
Me and my cousin decided to try it for a non-competition tournament (we could still be considered beginners) and bought a spool of 100 pound to make leaders for musky fishing as we have seen a lot of pros do so. It simply worked awesome: we used the leaders for basically everytype of lure (Jerkbaits&Gliders (It worked better than wire for me and I didn't get any tangles), Bucktails, Spinnerbaits, and Topwaters). We also both caught fish (43" and 34"; sadly missed three very nice fish) but we did change out the leaders after we caught a fish on them just because of the older fishermen messing with us beforehand that the leaders would snap. We also didn't even crimp instead used a Surgeon's Loop Knot on both ends and put a split ring or mega sized crane snap swivel on ... MoreMe and my cousin decided to try it for a non-competition tournament (we could still be considered beginners) and bought a spool of 100 pound to make leaders for musky fishing as we have seen a lot of pros do so. To connect to the braid we again just used a Surgeon's knot on the braid and connected them by looping them through each other the same way you connect a fly leader to the main line when fly fishing. (PS if you do a lot of twists in your Surgeon's knot your gonna need a pliers to pull the knot together)
I use this exclusively as my only leader material for all of my fishing. If you usually use 80lb you can switch to Vanish 60 for similar durability but you will get more bites. The same analogy applies to 15-17-20-30-40-50 etc... Vanish has made a huge difference for my clients. You will get more bites, catch more fish, and save tons of money!
