I recently purchased 30 lb test X9 braided line both lime green and moss green for steelhead fishing here in Northwestern Oregon. This line cast easy and far from our Daiwa Ballistic LT spinning reels model 3000. Also 165 yards, an entire X9 spool fits on the Daiwa spool. I have tried them all and this so far is the best braided line I have found. Also wind knots seldom happen and if they do they can be untangled easily....

Fished this line in same pound test, same size swivel, leader and terminal tackle. My line went straight down with no scope, while the Power Pro guy next to me had more angle and scope heading from the boat! I was able to lighten my bucktail for more fluke because of the awesome strength and thinner diameter of Berkley's latest winner. Thank you Pure Fishing.

This line is awesome! Super strong and super smooth. If you are wanting a great line for not only Bass fishing but also inshore fishing I would look into this braid. The 10pound for inshore fishing is great. It casts a country mile on a spinning rod. For Bass fishing the 30 and 50 pound is perfect for just about anything. I definitely recommend this line

I use X-9 from one year now on many reels and I think is the best braid I ever used.This braid is soft, with no memory, high resistance, no stretch, wirh high castability.I use tthe 20lb for light sea trolling and the 10lb for sea and freshwater baitcasting.Eventual backlashes can be easly solved.The white color (clear) is the best for the cast follow and underwater low visibility..All in all, highly recommended.
I had this line on a new daiwa bait caster about 3 weeks ago, it frayed just like it did on another reviewer. Immediately went back to the tackle shop, got rid of the 30lb line and replaced it with the 20lb line. Never had a problem with that line.
I bought this a month ago, one of my favorite tv personalities had them as a sponsor, figured I’d give it a try. First off - it says “smooth casting” and for me it makes this god aweful zipper noise going through my eyes but it does cast far. Next, I used it for a total of 6 hours over three days and all the colour of the line that touched the water was gone and is now white as ice fishing line. I have had two rods with spiderwire on them for three or more years and it still looks relatively new. Not impressed and won’t buy it again. It is strong though.
I don’t have a order issue but this says customer service. So I have a complaint. I am an Lake Erie walleye fisherman I recently strung 4 of my trolling rods with Berkley X5 braid. First time out had fish at boat the line broke so I lost my fish and a 10 dollar lure. Didn’t think too much about it until the next rod did same thing with a 40 dollar in line board and another 10 dollar lure. So stopped using them. Got home and found out the line is breaking on all 4 rods and not at the knot. It’s actually breaking the line. So stringing 4 rods was 45 dollars board 40 dollars and lures 20 bucks. That’s 105 dollar loss because I used this product. I am not very happy with that. Also good luck with customer service.
I bought this line 2 weeks (June 29) ago it was 30 lbs test. It has been the worst line Ive ever used! The first day out I had it fray on me (see picture). It seemed as though one strand seperated from the rest and then all of the other bunched up so I had to pull a bunch of the line off and start again. The next outting I was using top water frog and when I would set the hook the line would break about 5-6" from the hook. I was lucky enough to get one of my frogs back and thats how I realized it wasnt breaking at the knot like I first thought. The bass I was fishing were only 2.5 lbs so I shouldnt have broken off. Overall this line is very poorly made and I will not buy it again. Waste of money
In general this would be quite good braid but it have one giant disadvantage that eliminates it in my opinion. Last year I have tested 0,12 and 014 mm lines for seatrout fishing in European fisheries. This line have big tendency to tangle when falling off the reel spool during dynamic casts. It can happen for example when 20 meters of the line is already out. This tangles are not possible to disentangle what causes that you have to cut these 20 meters of good line. I think that reason of it could be a odd number (x9) of the fibers in this braid. My friends have very similar experieces with this line and problem is happening on many reels (Daiwa BG, Penn Spinnfisher, Ryobi Zauber).
This is a great product. I bought the 10lb as I have just recently starting using braid to mono and braid to flouro leaders on my spinning gear. This is super smooth line and is easy to manage and tie when joining it to your leader line. It casts like a dream and is smooth through the guides with minimal sound and resistance. I highly recommend the x9 if you are tired of wind knots, kinking and memory in your traditional mono or flouro setups. First trip out landed multiple 2.5-3.5 lb bass and the bite with braid is just amazing.....Awesome product!
