Berringa Australian Manuka Honey (active MGO 400+) is a fast acting bioactive honey derived from the Leptospermum species of plant, which imparts the honey with very high levels of a naturally occurring compound known as Methylglyoxal, or MGO for short. Not only does our Manuka honey taste deliciously sweet and smooth, it also has a large range of medicinal health benefits that are highly revered by doctors worldwide. From Digestive Health, Skin Treatment to Wound Care, you can’t get anything better! Many people think Manuka honey only comes from New Zealand but scientists believe that quality is governed by latitudenal differences – the heat and humidity of the Australian environment means our bees tend to produce honey that is far superior in MGO levels. All Berringa Honey is 100% pure and unpasteurised with absolutely no added preservatives. Our Manuka Honey is the best 100% pure and natural Australian honey available to support everyday wellness. First established over 20 years ago by our Founder and Chairman Peter Woodward, Berringa is an Australian owned company, based in Melbourne.

delicious and not cloyingly sweet, perfect for taking on its own for coughs and sore throats. Unlike some other manuka honeys, at MGO 220 it can claim to be bioactive and manuka's antiseptic action does not appear to lead to antibiotic resistance in bacteria. I received this product to review and my family loved it. We take half a teaspoon twice a day, and although it is expensive, it is comparable per dose with our standard branded cold preparation. I would consider buying it again, especially if it is on sale

I was given this product to review. Generally I dont enjoy honey And only use it in recipes, but a few months ago I decided to start using Manuka honey for its health benefits. This one is far superior to the one I had been using which was a pale set honey. This is not, it is gloriously dark and runny and very sweet with a deep molasses flavour. It goes beautifully in fruit tea and with yoghurt. It seemed odd, and was disappointing, that it came in a plastic jar but that is the only negative for me.

A big thank you. I ordered this honey for my sister in the UK and it arrived so quickly. She sent me a picture of the honey and it looks fabulous. She loved it. Thank you for the great customer service Rae and Lisa. I'll be ordering more products again soon. Linda.

Firstly, I was offered this product to review, so I did not pay for it. My first impression was that for a honey at ?32 I would expect, given the current concern for the seas etc. it would be in a glass jar and not plastic. Then I thought about the additional fuel needed to bring it to the UK from Australia, and the current concern for our atmosphere. Before I've even opened it I'm in a dilemma. Maybe we should stop transporting stuff all over the planet, and start embracing locally produced goods. I like honey, I don't buy it often, but I enjoy it occasionally. I have never paid this amount of money for honey. I've read about all the possible healing properties of Manuka honey, my sister has even tried it for a skin condition, but to no avail. I have never paid this amount of money for honey. I've read about all the possible healing properties of Manuka honey, my sister has even tried it for a skin condition, but to no avail. Based on this, I was looking forward to tasting such an expensive luxury. I took the lid off, peeled back the foil seal, and licked it clean. Wow! Intense, powerful, dark with a treacle taste. Honey with a strong memory of bonfire night, and toffee apples. Smooth, and does not get the back of my throat like some others. Definitely a quality product, but comes with a high price tag, both to your wallet & our planet.
I was given this honey to review. I tried it on a piece of toast. It had a nice consistency but I didn't like the taste. Because of its bioactive properties, I would recommend it added to a drink for the relief of colds/sore throats. Put the juice of a lemon and the remaining lemon in a jug, pour over about half a pint of hot water and stir in a desert spoonful of manukau honey. This is a very small jar and so very expensive at ?22.99
Well this honey is ok. But then I wondered why am I paying all this money and still getting honey in a plastic jar? Glass jars are easier to recycle. Plastic leaches into the honey and makes it taste slightly plasticky. So quality is probably reduced too. Ill be buying honey in glass jars in future.
With a beautiful deep amber colour and a fragrant, floral scent, this honey is tasty and smooth. Its flavour is more intense than most honeys so a little goes a long way. Rather than being overly sweet, it has a rich, layered taste, combining floral and medicinal notes. It has a runny rather than sticky consistency and pours well - delicious on natural yoghurt and fabulous on wholemeal toast. Definitely one to use sparingly as it?s price puts it out of range for everyday use but a wonderful, luxurious treat!
If youre looking to treat yourself, then this is definitely worth it! This honey is dark, rich and sweet, with an almost treacley taste. I use Manuka honey mainly for its health benefits and like to eat a teaspoonful on its own sometimes. This one certainly hits the spot! It IS expensive, but its worth it occasionally.
This is just wonderful! It is smooth and sleek and unctuous, with no crystals whatsoever - the label says it might develop them, presumably in cold weather, but I don't intend to let it sit in the cupboard that long. I was raised on heather honey from my father's own hives, and this has the quality of that, without the strength of flavour. It is in fact hardly sweet at all; the half-teaspoonful I tried within ten minutes of Ocado delivering it did not interfere in any way with the glass of Madeira which I had on the go at the time. As I am recovering from a very nasty tickly cough, I have every excuse to have a little helping of this honey several times a day. I don't think I would spread it on bread, or use it as a sweetener; just eating it on its own, in tiny ... MoreThis is just wonderful! As I am recovering from a very nasty tickly cough, I have every excuse to have a little helping of this honey several times a day. I don't think I would spread it on bread, or use it as a sweetener; just eating it on its own, in tiny quantities, is delight enough. Maybe, just maybe, I might spread some on a hot-buttered crumpet, or drizzle a little over vanilla ice-cream. Caveat - I only ordered this because Ocado offered it to me free on condition that I left a review. However, this review is my totally honest opinion, uninfluenced by them. I will add, though, that at ?22.99 for a tiny jar, I will not be buying it again when this one is finished. But I shall take immense pleasure in the jar I now have.
I got this free to review from Ocado as substitute for the Waimete honey. I?m new to manuka honey and like its richer more caramel flavour and potential health benefits. It?s started to granulate already which makes for a more interesting texture. Best eaten from straight from a teaspoon - I?ll save the less expensive honeys for drizzling over yoghurt.
