8 hours paddling in Yukon during a torrential downpour. At the end of the day I was the only person with dry clothes.I was wearing a hat and easily rolled the hood inside to prevent pooling. The large side pockets are easily accessible to the point I could access them without taking off my PFD. Cuffs closed easily and prevented any rain from going into my sleeves. Barely sweat despite working to paddle, wearing my PFD, and 20 degree temperature. Literally shook it dry after the fact. Best rain jacket I've ever owned.

The Beta SL jacket is my most worn shell jacket. I’ve used it frequently during the spring and summer season, commuting around the city and also for short hikes. The jacket is light and breathable, so much so that I’ve used it for running a few times when the weather had some rainy conditions. I didn’t feel any sense of overheating, especially with the pit zips offering that extra ventilation.I’ve compared the Beta SL with the Beta jacket and the fit of the Beta SL is more slim. I like the slimmer look as it doesn’t make such loose noise as the Beta jacket does. As a bonus of it being lighter and thinner than the Beta jacket, the Beta SL packs a lot smaller and can fit in some of my smaller bags while still leaving space for other things!

I was very hesitant to spend 500 dollars on a rain jacket, however I was very pleasantly surprised with this purchase. This jacket fits very well and is versatile. I am 6'1" 150lbs so I'm relatively slim, but this jacket fits if you feel chilly and decide to wear a big bulky hoodie. The waterproofing is perfect as advertised, and I'm looking forward to giving it more use when I'm on the pacific coast. Since purchasing, I put the exclusive grand opening iron on patch to the right shoulder, which looks pretty badass in my opinion. 10/10 would recommend for those interested
This is not a review about the jacket - I've owned it for 7 years (I guess it was called Beta SL Hybrid Jacket then), and it was the best jacket I've ever owned.I contacted the support team because I noticed that the seams were starting delaminate, which after 7 years of use, I was not surprised about. I just wanted to know how to repair them myself, or if they'd repair it for me. Instead, they sent me a gift card to cover the entire amount (tax, shipping) for me to purchase a brand new Beta Jacket. I was shocked that Arc'Teryx is willing to stand behind their product after 7 years of usage! Their products are a bit expensive - I think we all know that - but after this experience, why would I consider any other brand? THANK YOU!

Winters are 28 F low to 47 F high. The Beta SL is my outer layer, the mid layer is an Atom Vest and next to skin is a dress shirt or a base layer. Be sure to think of what you want to fit underneath the Beta SL. I got a medium, but I am 5' 9" and weigh 140 pounds. I need room for a mid-layer, base layer (next to skin) and maybe a concealed carry weapon when hiking on mountain trails. I love the Beta AR, but it is more suited for Chicago or Denver; much colder environments. Got this as it's the latest version of my beloved Beta LT jacket that I've had a few year. This version opts out of the PFCs noted from the older version and wanted to see how it performs. Read that I'll need to be more mindful with laundering this one than the LT version and that's easy enough to do to maintain the performance I experienced with the LT. All-in-all, really happy with the gentler hand-feel and the fit somehow seems improved for me. Using this for travel and hiking as of late and have yet to use it layered in the winter time.

I only found a thread on the shoulder. After all, the clothes are not works of art, and I am personally satisfied.In terms of size, my height is 182, my weight is 75, and the size I bought is M. BETA is the most classic and best-selling series of Archaeopteryx. JACKET can be regarded as the basic entry model in BETA. It adopts three-layer N30p Gore- tex waterproof breathable membrane and incorporates gore-knit lining technology. The overall feel is softer, with low noise and good air permeability, but the wear resistance and scratch resistance are weak. There is no underarm breathable zipper, which is more suitable for hiking, hiking, commuting and other environments. It can be used as an outer layer protection and is very handsome to match.
