A tried and tested design - popular with the professionals and music lovers alike. Professional users all over the world have relied on our classic series for years: DT 770 / 880 / 990 PRO. As a studio reference they shone with detailed resolution and a very transparent sound. The DT 770 PRO is the closed studio headphone offering superior noise isolation and therefore the perfect choice for vocal recordings. Strong bass response and superior top-end clarity mean it is ideally suited to detailed mixing and monitoring. Experience studio quality sound everywhere you go, this impedance is ideal for smartphones, tablets and laptops. The 80 Ohm headphone is the right choice for all studio situations, whether recording, monitoring or mixing. Also 80 Ohms, these headphones are designed for even greater sound isolation, ideally suited to drummers and loud recording environments. The high impedance of this model results in increased sensitivity, dynamics and frequency response, ideally suited for detailed mixing in the studio. The wide stereo image and strong bass response makes the DT 770 PRO a reliable reference point in the studio and a trusted companion for producers and audio engineers. The DT 770 PRO is a reliable tool for studio monitoring, mixing and mastering, as the highly sensitive transducers ensure the smallest adjustments in panning, EQ or dynamics can be easily heard. With its closed-back design, the DT 770 PRO offers superior isolation from ambient noise and virtually zero bleed. This benefit alone has made it the first choice for vocalists and broadcasters in the studio for decades, providing clean recordings free of any unwanted noise. The low frequencies are precise and powerful, without being overbearing, while top end is clear and very present without sounding shrill. The sturdy steel headband gives the headset a secure fit. Soft, adjustable ear cups contribute to great wearing comfort for extended periods. The cable, which is attached on just one side, accommodates frequent adjustment and removal of the DT 770 PRO without cable tangles. Its extra light weight construction makes it very easy to wear.

I have a pair of Sennheiser 5XX, which is my gold standard for comparing all other cans too. The issue I run into with the Sennheiser is not sound quality but, sound escape, they're just as loud to you as everyone around you, and they let in every decibel of sound from around you.The DT770's are whisper quiet to the surrounding people and, likewise, they block a great deal of outside audio. With the DT770's the quality of sound suffers, the bass is so bland and so restricted when listening to music. I had such high hopes for the bass due to their closed back. The audio just doesn't come through the way I want on almost every track. They are PERFECT for gaming, the highs come through perfectly (footsteps) and the bass being muffled means that gunfire doesn't blow ... I have worn these for countless 8-10 hour gaming sessions without a single complaint. The clamping force is appropriate and the adjustments are ideal, they will fit tiny heads, as well as large heads without losing any comfort or clamping force.I would buy these again for gaming, BUT if this is your first set of cans, or you plan on listening to a lot of music I would look elsewhere.

I'm new to podcasting and I needed to get a set of headphones to work with my Zoom P4 Podcast, and after doing some research, I decided on Beyerdynamic. Since I already had made a purchase with Sam Ash for another piece of equipment, being totally satisfied with their customer service, shipping, and pricing, I decided to order them from Sam Ash again. They arrived well packaged and safely. The headphones are very comfortable. They are 80 ohms impedance which work great with my podcast machine. They are comfortable on my head. I do not feel them. The sound clarity is great. Fit and finish is excellent. Great quality. I like the color combination on them as well. The unit comes with the standard plug and also an adapter for larger size. I mainly bought these for gaming(Valorant mainly) and normal media consumption. I was using Hyperx stinger before so i'm mainly gonna compare these to stinger(i've also used sennheiser hd 599 SE which is an open back headphone, but i returned them because it has too much bass for my liking and nearly no isolation.)I ran this 80 ohm version on my cheapass motherborad(msi h110m pro-vh plus) only, which was enough to power them and the sound was loud enough for me(80% on spotify) but the sound was definitely lower than my stinger(might buy an amp/dac in the future but not necessary). My phone(Mi A1) also powered them decently but i had to pump the volume to nearly 90-100% on spotify.Sound - For the initial days i found the lower bass of dt770 was kinda boosted but as ... My phone(Mi A1) also powered them decently but i had to pump the volume to nearly 90-100% on spotify.Sound - For the initial days i found the lower bass of dt770 was kinda boosted but as i got used to the sound signature of these cans it gets better and after swapping back to stinger i found that the stinger has very high mids and treble which causes sibilance and i can't use them anymore, whereas DT 770s sound very comfortable.Imaging(footsteps and directional audio) - stinger does a better job but not by a large margin whereas while consuming media (movies, songs etc) everything sounds better on dt 770.Build quality - is very good on these cans, can almost last forever and the good thing is, even if u somehow damage any part of these cans, u can replace it(except for the cable and driver ofcourse).Isolation - Way better than stinger. When wearing these headphones i can hardly hear any outside noise, even my ceiling fans noise(which normally runs on high speed) gets completely isolated. Conclusion - If u game seriously then buy some other gaming headset(also contains mic), but if u want an all rounder then buy these(in my opinion this is the best closed back headphone under 15k) and if isolation is not a problem for u then choose an open back headphone( something like sennheiser HD 599, which sometimes goes on sale for 9-10k, which is an absolute banger of a price, but let me warn u HD 599 has elevated high bass frequency which tends to bleed into mids, otherwise it is a good deal if u don't mind bass).
Excellent headphones for mixing podcast episodes. What's impressive in addition to the sound quality is its build quality. There's really sturdy metal body that I feel confident stretching over my large head. I can see myself buying them again for a backup, just to have it. I also think I'll end up buying other resistance measures later for other editing and listening purposes. I currently use it with a basic audio interface (Scarlett 2i2), and I also use it sometimes with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Only a slight warning: the cord is long and can't be removed from the headphones themselves. Fortunately, I had already anticipated that pre-purchase, so it's not a problem, as the DT770s have a substantial reputation among pro mixers and audiophiles. This is one of my best ... These headphones are in production since 1985 and they're one of the most popular models found in recording studios for a good reason! At this price point, they're one of the nicest headphones you can get for studio work, but also for listening to music in noisy environments (e.g. office). Since they're mostly closed back, unless you go really high with the volume, others won't be able to hear your music and you will not be able to hear outside noises either. The 250 Ohm model is not suitable with all consumer devices, as it might be more demanding on the amplifier and might require a dedicated headphone amp.
So...Headphones...PROPER headphones, not those teeny tiny ones that look like hearing aids...what? eh? half past three love. These are like the pones your DAD or Grandad would have worn, and sit over your ears. My Moog GM even thanked me for appreciating it more (there were hugs and even some tears, it was embarrassing).Anyway, leave your doubts at the door and go do it.
I have a hifiman Sundara, and was using that for listening to music.I am not sure if I am an audiophile because I don't have that kind of setup or numerous audio devices to listen to music. I mainly strive for clean and balanced sound. With the Hifiman Sundara I was not able to immerse myself in my music as it is a open back and I was using it in normal household condition with no isolation. That was the main reason to consider a closed back headphone, I decided to buy the beyerdynamic dt 700 pro x for the perfect balanced sound that I could hear from all reviews but spending 26K for nearly same sound as the dt 770 pro did not make sense to me.I was confused between the dt 770 pro 80 ohm and 250 ohm version. All reviews pointed 80 ohm to be the best for music listening. While going through some reviews in different forums there was one person who clearly mentioned the differences between the different impedance models. The 250 ohm is more balanced with a greater sense of depth and seperation with a little more openness. That review made my buying decision and I bought the dt 770 250 ohm model. As I already have a Ifi Zen Can powering the headphone was not an issue. After receiving the headphone initially I felt the sound a little piercing in the high frequency range (as I was used to hearing the Sundaras). I used an android EQ (Wavelet app) brought down the 9.6k band -2.5 DB and now it sounds perfect. Amazing clearity, depth and sound stage with a little more distinctive bass than the Sundaras.I am happy with this purchase and satisfied with the sound of the headphones.
After 2 days of burning them, they sound really good.Yes, a tad bright but nothing that an equalizer can't fix. (I followed the Harman curve target for non-monitoring purposes)The sound stage is lovely for a closed back and a detailed but not overpowering sub bass is refreshing. At a sensitivity of 96 dB they don't get as loud (This troubled me initially). But the point of a good set is that you can resolve the details even at lower volumes.Believe me, I mostly listen to them at 60-70% volume now. Good for the long-term hearing too :)I was also looking for the silver-grey velour earpads and the team got them for me O_O. The pleather pads have ventilation holes in the back and are equally comfortable as well.An awesome experience overall and money well spent.
This is my first real investment in a move to hear music better. I have had the standard headphones that we all go through (Jabra, Sennheiser, Bose, etc.) but the beyerdynamic is the first headphone that I can truly say has brought me closer to the music I love. The sounds are crystal, the beats are clear and impact is powerful - it's a blissful experience thus far. I can't talk about the technicalities but from a layman's pov this has been a good investment. I can however call out one piece that could be better/ improved - an extra paid of the pads or the covers of the headphone since they are over the ear sorts should be provided, speaking from personal experience, sweat does not help keeping them tardy and does take a bit of en effort to keep them neat.
