There's really sturdy metal body that I feel confident stretching over my large head. I can see myself buying them again for a backup, just to have it. I also think I'll end up buying other resistance measures later for other editing and listening purposes. I currently use it with a basic audio interface (Scarlett 2i2), and I also use it sometimes with my iPhone 14 Pro Max. Only a slight warning: the cord is long and can't be removed from the headphones themselves. Fortunately, I had already anticipated that pre-purchase, so it's not a problem, as the DT770s have a substantial reputation among pro mixers and audiophiles. At this price point, they're one of the nicest headphones you can get for studio work, but also for listening to music in noisy environments (e.g. office). Since they're mostly closed back, unless you go really high with the volume, others won't be able to hear your music and you will not be able to hear outside noises either. Sibilant recordings do sound a bit harsh to my ears due to treble boost. Bass is lovely: rich, low, rumbling, un-muddy and satisfying. Oh yes, i now know what "muddy" means as well only now since my low-fi headphones sound just like that compared to these.Thanks for the "burn-in" advice upfront. I let a track run on loop at 70% volume for 12 hours and only after that did these cans shine.I understand why these have been voted high on comfort. Super comfortable after editing recording all day. I can't recall if this is my second or third pair Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro 80. My last pair became useless when the roller on my chair rolled over the cord too many times. Sweetwater does not replace cords in-house. The cost for shipping, a replacement cord and labor made buying another pair of headphones more sensible. I had found an inexpensive set of replacement ear cushions exactly the same as the originals and bought a new cord with the money I saved. I had no idea how tiny the wires are in the cord. It will take someone more professional at soldering than me. No wonder rolling over them was all it took to make them useless. That won't happen again.

I used an android EQ (Wavelet app) brought down the 9.6k band -2.5 DB and now it sounds perfect. Amazing clearity, depth and sound stage with a little more distinctive bass than the Sundaras.I am happy with this purchase and satisfied with the sound of the headphones.
This is my first real investment in a move to hear music better. I have had the standard headphones that we all go through (Jabra, Sennheiser, Bose, etc.) but the beyerdynamic is the first headphone that I can truly say has brought me closer to the music I love. The sounds are crystal, the beats are clear and impact is powerful - it's a blissful experience thus far. I can't talk about the technicalities but from a layman's pov this has been a good investment. I have had the standard headphones that we all go through (Jabra, Sennheiser, Bose, etc.) but the beyerdynamic is the first headphone that I can truly say has brought me closer to the music I love. The sounds are crystal, the beats are clear and impact is powerful - it's a blissful experience thus far. I can't talk about the technicalities but from a layman's pov this has been a good investment.
