If you want to step up your snare recording go for this Microphone. It offer so much more than the SM57. Plus it’s great for Backing Vocals and gives you a natural separation in the EQ without compromising quality!I’d recommend it to anyone!

It's just one hell of a good mic.It feels like it's made of lead. I've dropped it a few times on carpet. No issues. Comes with a mic bag and clip. From now on it is my go-to for micing electric guitar cabs. Build quality top notch, feels very sturdy in your hand and although I havent owned it for long enough to put it through its paces I have read multiple reviews from engineers who have used it in drum applications and say it is built to last. I was so impressed I bought several more to multi-mic drums and percussion.

Overall:I've used and/or owned many of the standards in this category, all good mics, but this Beyerdynamic is something special. I have used this mic for vocals, acoustic guitar and mandolin, and I don't have to do a thing with EQ. It just sounds natural, doesn't have any weird peaks, has better sibilance resistance (for my voice) and it's *small* and easy to place anywhere. Yes, it's a bit spendy for a dynamic mic, but for me, it's so good and fast to use with no wasted time in mixing and fiddling to get the right sound, I wish I'd had one of these years ago. (I have not needed manufacturer support, but have used this company for headphones and they've been outstanding, so gave it a 5 there, too.)
I replaced and ultimately sold my SM57 that I was using on the snare. What a difference! The SM57 sounded a bit muffled compared to the M201 TG - just better presence, clarity, less need for EQ and I love how the snare comes across in the mix. If you're using an SM57, this is a terrific upgrade.
On the snare drum is perfect. Very accurate sound and excellent opportunities for frequency correction, although it seems that such a correction will be superfluous. The plates and other drums do not really penetrate the snare drum channel. About all other microphones have to forget. I found what I was looking for.

No shipping notice, no tracking number.., and.., no microphones?One of your kind salespeople is tracking this down so, I will withhold final judgment upon the successful solution to this problem.I'm familiar with the mics and was hoping to get them in time for a recording I am booked for. That won't happen now!The M-201 is a fine and unusual dynamic mic and well recommended at this price, but maybe not from this dealer??
Great natural sounding mic. Adds a little around 10k, but not a bad thing. Can EQ to taste. Amazing rejection with off-axis sources , perfect for recording guitar and another mic on vox at the same time.
Anyone looking for an alternative drum microphone, with more clarity, snap, dynamic than the usual ones, should try the M201.
I bought this mic specifically for recording snare drum. It is an excellent alternative to the sm57 and in my opinion quite an upgrade sonically. I spent some time exploring different positions and angles and every thing that was captured sounded great, it just comes down to your vision and musical perspective on the positioning. Worth while investment.
