If you are looking for something in the 1500 price range, this thing delivers on all levels. Cheers!

I bought the Rancilio Silvia Pro X Espresso Machine initially. I was not happy at all with it. First it tripped our breaker and that never happened with the espresso machine we replaced. Then, I was unable to access the programming consistently. That was a problem as you needed to access it just for cleaning the machine. I took advantage of Clive's "Love it or return it" policy. From the moment I unpacked the Bezzera BZ10, I have been very happy. It is very straight forward without a lot of computerized options that I personally do not need. It pulls a nice shot, steams milk easily and as a bonus is much more attractive than the Silvia Pro.

No bells and whistles!
17 July 2023

I took my time sorting out my coffee grind and amount of coffee required to make the shot before perfecting my daily dose of happiness! This little machine is very basic, no bells and whistles, which is exactly what I wanted. I'm not seeking something that looks fancy shmancy..I just want reliability and manual operation. The less electronics, the better. So far, so good. The one improvement I would suggest would be a bigger drip tray and more weight, it moves around when attaching to the group head.

Short term review
23 February 2022

Short term reviewI’ve upgraded from a breville barista express. Originally I was looking for a dual boiler for temp stability, but with another 900 for a Profitec 300 or questionable quality of a Bellezza copy, I went with this. I was a bit nervous about a Hx, but wow. It’s got a pressure gauge which is nice and the electrically heated group is quick. Hopefully it’s more reliable than a traditional e61.There’s no preinfusion which is probably the main drawback however we’ll see whether that’s massively important. All in all, super straightforward and seems fantastic. First piccolo was amazing. Also appliances online have been pretty great. I was having a horrendous week and was hanging onto the new machine for some hope. This Bezzera was definitely the
22 March 2023

This Bezzera was definitely the right choice for me. It is ready to go in 10 minutes as opposed to 30ish with many other machines, which is a huge advantage in practice. It is beautiful, makes consistently tasty shots, has a drip tray that slides right out (without having to tilt), is quiet, has levers rather than knobs (both work great, I just personally prefer the feel of levers), makes great steam, was packaged really well, and was picked with the help of Paul in customer support, who was remarkably generous in letting me bounce a ton of questions off him. I would pick it again without hesitation. It also arrived incredibly quickly. Thank you all very much - time spent with this machine really is the best part of my day.

This is a beautiful machine
18 October 2021

This is a beautiful machine that's extremely easy to use, especially coming from a Breville Barista Express. It's a well-sized and portioned machine that doesn't draw monstrous attention - but is a gorgeous compliment in the kitchen. The heat exchanger makes pulling a shot and steaming milk simultaneously a breeze. It's nice not having to go dual boiler route (which would mean a larger / more expensive machine). Very happy to be living with high-end Italian craftsmanship and quality.Purchased an extra portafiler (Whole Latte), extra portafilter basket (1st line), and tamper + leveler + tamping mat from Motto (Motto USA website) to compliment as this only comes with a single portafilter.

We love it. Even more
2 February 2022

We love it. Even more obsessed with cappuccino now. More and better flavor to the point where we are using a smaller dose per cup. (If you run the numbers, the machine pays for itself haha nobody believes me). I like using the steamer and brew at the same time so that's cool but not a deal-breaker kind of thing. My wife is really good at steaming milk and I am getting better but still not as good as her. We use Oatly milk so not easy as dairy milk. Latte art is fun. We keep switching coffee beans and the grinder/brew is sensitive to get the right shot time. Sometimes it's even the person tamping the dose that makes it different. I expected this to be less sensitive, not more. But even a bad pull is better tasting than our old machine.Buying the Bezzera and Eureka ... MoreWe love it. Even more obsessed with cappuccino now. almost perfect

This is a great machine. It makes great coffee. I've had it about one month and I've made about 90 drinks with it and it's performed great. Fast heat-up, love the pressure gauge, great steam power, great controls, love the rosewood handles, I'm really happy I bought it and I highly recommend it.However, I have two minor criticisms about the machine itself - the solenoid drain assembly is really awkward. They should fix this. It wouldn't be hard. It is just a loose bit of pipe with an etched rim a little above halfway up that is supposed to be pinched in between the drip tray top and flange on the machine front panel to keep the outlet of the pipe just above the bottom of the drip tray so that the water has somewhere to go without splashing. It is just a loose bit of pipe with an etched rim a little above halfway up that is supposed to be pinched in between the drip tray top and flange on the machine front panel to keep the outlet of the pipe just above the bottom of the drip tray so that the water has somewhere to go without splashing. It is really awkward to line up correctly every time after emptying and cleaning the drip tray and will often slip down below the drip tray top when removing the drip tray and then you have to take the drip tray top off and fish it out. This is my biggest gripe and can be really annoying, but it's also not a very big deal. Secondly, the portafilter has, what seems to me, too much travel, i.e. when inserting the portafilter with 18-20 grams of coffee, to get the portafilter snug you need to turn the handle well past perpendicular to the machine, I'd say something like 30 degrees past perpendicular. This means that the spouts are also off-line. Not a huge deal, plenty of room on the drip tray to accommodate if pouring into two cups, but just seems a little sloppy to me. It takes 25 or 26 grams to get the portafilter snug with the handle perpendicular to the machine, but then the coffee is terrible. The solenoid drain valve was a little frustrating because I didn't see this mentioned in any reviews or literature about the machine. One additional gripe about the machine I did see mentioned, so not a legitimate "complaint" from me, more like a suggestion, I guess - the steam wand is uninsulated. It has a rubber grip to prevent burns. The other machines at this price point have an insulated steam wand, at least the Appartamento does, and I would like the Bezzera machine just a little more if it had an insulated steam wand. I've burned myself once already. My fault, I know. One comment to Whole Latte Love - better, clearer notice that a signature is required at delivery for this machine would be appreciated. That caught me off guard the day of delivery.Again, I love this machine. I highly recommend it. It makes awesome espresso and really great steam. Ergonomics are awesome, it looks great, it is pretty small, and the fluffy biscione logo reminds me of the horrors of medieval war, and the beauty of cosmopolitan Milan, every morning!

great machine after 3 years

I had used the Gaggia classic for about six years prior to owning this machine, and I feel like really learned the ropes to espresso with that machine. Its a great little workhorse! But after that much time and making cappuccinos every day, I really wanted to step up to something that would last for many years and allow me to get great tasting espresso and professional level micro foam. After a bunch of research, I settled on this machine. I can say after about three years of use, it has absolutely lived up to it's reputation and has not had one issue!! I use it just about every day, clean it semi-regularly (probably should do more often, but ya know, life...), and love making drinks when I have friends visiting. And everyone knows about my legit espresso setup! ... MoreI had used the Gaggia classic for about six years prior to owning this machine, and I feel like really learned the ropes to espresso with that machine. I also have a nice grinder which was a great investment too, sort of need both things to go all the way imho.
