I heard a lot about this Bioderma product over the years, have used some other products from the range and liked them, but never had a chance to test it out myself so I was pleasantly surprised to find it in the Marie Claire box. I have a combination skin and my favourite face cream/treatment is La Roche Posay Effaclar Duo + and I love it to such an extent that it would be my only desert Island item. The cream spreads like a dream on the skin and is absorbed in seconds. It does give a smooth and matte finish, I didn't detect any nasty film either. The skin fels soft and looks mattified. Pores might look a little less visible but I am a sceptic when I read that something will refine my pores... it might fill them in so they look less prominent, but I do not really believe in magic. \nWhat I noticed though is that Bioderma Pore Refiner does keep the skin matte for longer ( compared to a regular moisturiser). A definite plus is a fact that it does seem to refine the skin texture, it does smooth out the skin and it doesn't clog the pores ( I know, it should be self evident but believe me or not I have used anti acne products that cause acne).\nMy problem with this product is that I m not exactly sure whether it is a kind of a moisturiser, a treatment or just a kind of primer. When used on its own I saw the best results, and in my opinion it is good to use it at night but then we do not really need the mattifying effect.\nWhen used with other products I am not sure when to apply it / before or after a moisturiser, before or after an spf? It also might cause a bit of a trouble as it doesn't agree with some make up primers and foundations. In that case, I just didn't use any primer, treated Pore refiner as one and opted for a compatible foundation.\nAll in all, I think I get the idea of this product, I think it works pretty well but there are some little disadvantages that make me stay faithful to Effaclar Duo + making the Bioderma affair only temporary.\n

Works so well as a very fluid, lightweight mattifier. I apply it right before sunscreen, after any other serums, treatments, Rxs, etc., to mattify even the most greasy, shiny, and tacky SPF. It leaves a nice dry, clean feeling on the skin without actually drying out my skin (which has been a problem with other mattifiers). I could do without the scent, but I don't find that it lingers, so you aren't smelling it all day. It also works great on top of sunscreen for touchups during the day and after sunscreen reapplication. And because it's so fluid, it's very easy to apply (which isn't the case with some other, thicker mattifiers). I don't like to feel like I'm wearing layers of products during the day, and this really helps with that I live in a really hot humid ... MoreWorks so well as a very fluid, lightweight mattifier. I can say all that positive stuff about it now but. .. seeing that I don't normally use this type of product, nor did I believe it would actually show signs of having any effectiveness to improve whatever imperfection it was made for. Throughout my many years of experience, trying every new miracle product that came out over the last 4 decades, I found that most of the products that are the type to have all the different individual treatments for every specific need, are the ones that really don't work that great so they try to make their money by getting ppl to try several different types of treatments on the first sale. I always, swore by how strongly I personally felt that all you really needed is a good washing technique with a gentle cleanser, exfoliate once or twice a week, avoid too much sun, eat healthy and use one really good moisturizer at night as a daily routine. .So, I bet you can probably guess how stupid this "old miss thinks I know it all" feels now😂 Yes! I ended up being quite shocked when Bioderma proved me wrong after all these yrs lol. Having a very pale complexion, you see every imperfection on my skin, my pores stand out almost as bad as my freckles. From the very first time, just mins after applying Bioderma, I could see a noticeable difference. Each day I used it my pores appeared smaller until they were barely noticeable at all (even when I was purposely looking for them in a magnifying mirror). It also seemed to get rid of my most recent issue of being disfigured looking from having an outbreak of reversed puberty (thank you!!!) Seriously!?!? Come on now!!! This Ain't Even right !! Why in the world am I getting zits now that I'm in my Golden Years when I've never had any problems with them. before, not even in my teenie bopper years! Anyway, thank you Bioderma for clearing up the zits all over my face., having my face smelling so good, making my skin feel so baby soft and not greasy at all and making my pores unnoticeable.. Oh!!! And I almost forgot my favorite thing about #Bioderma it actually firms your skin. I could feel a major difference in the elasticity of my skin. After only a week of use, I swear I looked 10 yrs younger .. It was like I had a face lift. đŸ‘”đŸ‘© Anyway. I am definitely adding #BiodermaPoreRefiner to my daily Regiment and I am excited to see what else they have that's magical enough to shock this. Wise ol Grammy 🩉

I have larger pores on my nose. I have been using tretinoin for blackheads, but the appearance of the dark spots and the sebum that filled the pores every day didn’t change. I use this stuff now every time I shower and I have actually seen a noticeable difference. There is about half the amount of sebum, and the pores do look smaller. It isn’t perfect, but I am so so happy to actually have found a product that truly does something. I highly recommend. It also does make a great base for makeup. My makeup looks 10x better with this stuff on first.

I don’t think I’ve ever written a review, but with this product I had to. All my life I struggled with pores and combination skin. Then I thought: OK, teenage is over, my problems should go away. Wrong! On the top of that now I have to deal with aging problems. If before I could just use face powder, for make up, now I can’t use it, because it makes my pores look even bigger. I had tried everything, I mean every product out there, including very expensive professional brands. I always used high end cosmetics. This is the ONLY cream that leaves my skin smooth, and my face doesn’t start being “shiny” from skin oil in 30 mins after applied daily/nightly cream. As soon as I opened my product, I realized there wasn’t any information about it in the box or on any of the packaging. It was really difficult to find information about it online too! At first I thought it was supposed to be used as a treatment to target pores and oil production. Using this before my moisturizer, my skin felt VERY tight and dry. Then I thought maybe I was using it incorrectly and was supposed to be more of a primer? It felt better on my skin that way and controlled oil beautifully! Unfortunately, it also made my makeup look really thick and heavy. The next day I tried mixing just a tiny bit of this product with my usual primer. I think this product would be great for someone with oily skin and not much texture!

I use Bioderma miceller water and rose toner. Love both. My pores have enlarged as I’ve aged and discovered a few things I can do to reduce pore size. I saw this product and since I already have Bioderma products I like I thought I’d give this a try. It’s too soon to see a dramatic change. I don’t expect dramatic anyway. But when I apply it I do feel it make a little difference. I think with continued use (and following manufacturer directions) it is going to make a bigger difference combined with the other regimental steps. I would recommend this.
