It does moisturize. It lasts a long while. TLDR; Smells like Miracle Whip and feels like it. Stick with the Probiotic Gel from Biossance instead of this Omega Repair Cream. Is it terrible? No, but I wouldn’t buy it again. The smell itself is just too much to handle. Best Budget Face Creams: Farmacy Honey Halo Ceramide Belief Aqua Bomb Biossance Probiotic Gel Moisturizer If you want to treat yourself skip past Tatcha and got right to Guerlain Double R Serum and Toner. You’ll thank me later even though your wallet might not.

I typically use (and have been happy) with cerave and cetaphil moisturizers at night, but they have never played very well with my makeup; I have tried various moisturizers for daytime and this was just “next” on my list to try. Yes, it smells like an aged soft cheese however, the smell dissipates quickly. I cannot smell it once I have blended the moisturizer completely into my skin. Yall had me prepared for some massive stank…it absolutely DOES NOT smell that bad. It smells natural and slightly musky/dampish and dissipates in about 30 seconds. I prefer my facial products to have their natural scent and not be heavily artificially fragranced, so this product is a win in that regard and I’m happy I took a chance!! As far as performance, this stuff is AMAZING!!! I have really dry 40 year old skin and use retinols and acids (on opposite nights) and I need daily hydration, especially during dry Midwest winters, but I hate the way deep moisture creams feel on my face. I can’t stand that slimy suffocated feeling. Makes me cringe. I saw in a previous review that this cream worked for someone with sensory issues and they were right! I’ve tried many moisturizers within the price range of biossance, and this one stands out for several reasons: you only need a small amount (helps justify cost), it’s very moisturizing for my very dry skin, it leaves this smooth/shiny appearance that doesn’t fade; it looks amazing under a tinted sunscreen, and sets in really well. I noticed people saying it smells like feet, fish, bad, etc. It is an algae product; I would say it has an oceanesque smell, but it fades right away. I personally don’t mind it, and prefer it over fragrant smells. I recently turned 50 and had found that in the year’s run up to my birthday my skin had begun to change.I never believe that ‘Big Birthdays’ change you a lot as it’s just another day, correct?
