BEWARE - White Eva Birks Stain Due To Oxidation!
16 August 2024Frustrated.In.FoCo

I purchased both the black and white Eva Waterproof Arizona Birkenstocks back in January. I figured the white would be a perfect sandal for special occasions when I want to wear something crisp. I have literally worn them twice this summer and today I noticed orange colored stains on the footbed of my white Evas. I just looked at other reviews and this does not seem to be uncommon unfortunately. My black ones have been worn almost every day this summer - no complaints. However, to spend $50 on white sandals that stained immediately due to oxidation, well that is disappointing. Since this was an in store purchase, I will bring them in to see what they say about a refund or replacement.

I always appreciated the orthopaedic factor of Birkenstock. Especially those of us with anatomical differences. The price is ridiculous for what it's become. Very disappointing.I called Birkenstock directly to ask if the model has changed in the EVA -Arizona sandal- or if it was because maybe it was pre owned, or was it quality control... The backs had sections where material was not filled in on the machine-mold. Maybe the material should still have an attached rubber sole-SEWN on. --If that's possible.I cannot wear regular Birks because of Latex allergy... interestingly most whom have Latex-allergy are also sensitive to things like Vinyl, Nylon, & their combinations, etc. EVA is related to vinyl. But there seems to be not many options at all for a quality shoe made for longevity, that's actually sewn in-not glued, or not just a molded piece of plastic or foam, that is (actually) safer for those with allergies & sensitivities, as well as kinder to the environment. I love Birkenstocks. I love the Arizona Essential Eva’s. I ordered 2 pairs recently because I was so excited that they had the Candy Pink in size 41. LOVE THEM!!!!
5 September 2024

I love these so much I got 2 pairs! At the price point and being EVA, I didn't have super high expectations for these, just thought they were going to be like the rest of my similar slip-on/slide sandals, but I have been blown away by them so far. They are SO comfortable and have an incredible footbed. I've been wearing these all summer around the house, running errands, to concerts, and anytime I'm on the way to go do a sport where I don't want to wear the sport footwear until it's time for them, like my paddle shoes or hiking boots. They're also great for hiking/backpacking, as they're great camp shoes and for river/creek crossings. 10/10, highly recommended! I recently got the gold and they are FABULOUS! I have very narrow feet and these are perfect. I wear an ... MoreI love these so much I got 2 pairs! They fit right on the money but I do think the 40 would be close enough to work, too.

Not as Pictured. Label Etched into Shoe
16 November 2024

The photos for this product show the Birkenstock label and size on the inside of the shoe as being in printed on white lettering but as it arrived it’s actually etched/carved into the rubber. When walking around you can feel the etched out pattern on your foot - it’s irritating and uncomfortable. Style should be reverted to having those things printed on. I understand it makes it so the details don’t wear off over time but it makes for a less comfortable experience with the shoe. Put it on the bottom or side. I added a photo of what I got vs what is displayed on the website (one with the white background). They are supportive but this really gives an annoying feeling to the shoe.

Plastic Sandals?? No, thanks!!
8 October 2024

I went to REI to find some brown sandals after what we normally consider “the end of summer.” It has been a weird year. It’s October and still 80-something every day. I knew I would not find many sandals at my favorite store and I was right. Not a single pair left. I was bummed. Then I turned around and saw a huge display of plastic sandals, lots of them were brown and some in my size. I laughed and said to the sales woman “No, thanks, I’m not buying plastic sandals.” She said they aren’t really plastic but some non-plastic material that forms to your feet. I was skeptical but also desperate. I wailed, “I need sandals, it’s so hot outside! Okay, I’ll take them.” She said that they were disappearing fast and I was lucky to find a pair in my size. These are TERRIBLY Made! Made of very cheap foam
19 June 2024

These are TERRIBLY Made! I knew they would be plastic and thought they'd be made of croc-type material. Instead they were made of a foam that was a teensy bit more permanent feeling that shaving cream. Honestly thought they might dissolve if I wore them outside. My husband even said they look like I bought them for $5 off of amazon. I didn't even wear them and just returned them immediately. It was obvious one wear would ruin them and I wouldnt be able to return them. And believe me, I wanted my money back for these crap-olas.

Ugly and Cheap
5 June 2024

These feel like play foam paper that kids craft with. It looks like it was cut like a child at the edges too. They feel like walking on cardboard/styrofoam and with no give. Dust and hair clings to it like it’s special feature is a lint roller. This is my first pair of the renowned Birkenstocks and I am very disappointed. I will be returning. I bought these to wear to the beach so I was expecting a bit of a plastic feel, but nothing as cheap as this. The recommendation to size up is accurate. It’s funny that the pebble design on the back make it look like actual styrofoam.

Uncomfortable rubbing on bottom of feet
16 September 2024

While these can be quite comfy for SHORT walks, they quickly become uncomfortable, and even unbearable, after 15+ minutes of consistent walking because the insole has a weird hump in the sandal mold that likes to rub between the ball of the foot and arch of my feet. That area of my feet can quickly become tender and blister if the rubbing continues for lots of walking. Why is this hump part of the insole?! It serves no purpose but to cause discomfort. The plastic material is also not breathable, so your feet starts to sweat. Perhaps that's why the bottom of my feet start to get tender and blistery from the sweat and rubbing against the unbreathable plastic.Birkenstock, please reconsider how you mold the insoles for these slides because they are not in the correct ... MoreWhile these can be quite comfy for SHORT walks, they quickly become uncomfortable, and even unbearable, after 15+ minutes of consistent walking because the insole has a weird hump in the sandal mold that likes to rub between the ball of the foot and arch of my feet. [Rewarded Review] Great shoes. Terrible quality from Dick's Sporting Goods.
18 September 2024

I own these shoes from other sellers, and I love the look, quality, and comfort of them. I have ordered probably 6 pair from Dick's Sporting Goods in the eggshell color over the last few weeks, and they are absolutely terrible quality. They have shown up with no tags, chunks missing out of the shoes, little pieces of the material hanging off the edges everywhere, or completely unfinished edges. I purchased them at a great price with rewards and a price match, so I'd really like to get a decent pair of them I can actually wear. Maybe it is the end of the season for Birkenstock sandals, as my size and color are nowhere to be found other than Dick's. Otherwise I would purchase them elsewhere. I believe they really should have a department at their warehouse for quality ... MoreI own these shoes from other sellers, and I love the look, quality, and comfort of them. I will say, their customer service has been very nice each time I have called to get help with receiving so many bad shoes. Unfortunately, no one has solved my issue yet or sent a quality pair of shoes. I'm very disappointed with my purchase.
