I find. Birkenstocks to be rigid and uncomfortable. I bought a pair last year and hardly wore them because of the hard plastic they use to go in between your toes. So when I bought a new pair the other day I returned them a day later thinking âwhy spend more $ on a bad productâ. I donât get why their so popular when they are so uncomfortable

I love my Birk Giselle sandals and my Boston slides but wanted a more supportive summer sandal and decided to go with these classics. When I was young (many years ago) and Birks were only worn by âhippiesâ (I grew up in the South when Preppy was big), I thought these sandals were hideous and how would anyone with style ever wear them? Fast forward 40 years and after eating my words, here I am proudly wearing mine! Because, they are sexy ugly and sooo comfy. And truth be told, I am a little hippy and def not preppy! Summer staple forever!

Because they are the softer, suede straps - you cannot just slide your foot into the sandal. Also decided that the color would probably look dirty after a few wears. I returned them and purchased the blue oiled leather ones (soft footbed sandal). I am so excited to wear these on my upcoming vacation. They will look good with anything! Love the blue - its very deep and classy.

This is my first pair and I'm anxiously anticipating when they are broken in. I usually buy a cushy type of sandal/shoe but keep coming back to these for the cute style. It's the exact look I wanted I almost purchased Dansko sandals that look like Birks but are a cushier footbed. In the end, I preferred the color in the Birkenstock. I chose the mocha with the rose gold buckles. These will be my go to sandals this summer so I hope I chose right. I'll give 5 stars because I know they are quality but I'm still unsure how supportive or comfortable they will be wearing all day. Wish me luck!! Happy Birthday to me!! Btw, I'm 58. Old feet!! I wear size 8 or 39.
This is my second pair of the Arizona metallic soft slides. I bought the silver in 2017 and loved them, and they are in magnificent condition. But yesterday my 85 year-old Mom decided she liked them alotâŚso now those are hers and I got the copper/rose gold. They are divine! Same lovely cushion, which is why theyâre great for Mom. But the color is stunning!!! Interestingly enough, my incredibly stylish husband said he never liked the silver on me, that this color is much more flattering to my skin tone. Who knew? So itâs a win-win! Yay for me. A terrific birthday present, too!
When I first bought these, they were the most uncomfortable sandals I have ever worn!!! The cork/foot bed was HARD! Worn for long periods of time in the beginning, my feet started to hurt walking in them. I had to change my shoes to get a break!!! I use to think "why does everyone say these are comfortable in reviews, are they crazy and who would waste their money on these?!?!?" I almost gave up in wearing them then I was considering how the sandals were quite costly, and I couldn't return them anyways. I am glad I did not give up, but I also had no choice. I walked through Disneyland all day (and you now how much walking that is) in them as they mode onto your feet and the footbed will soften. I loved them so much that I bought a second pair which I am in pain now wearing them on and off, but I know it won't be painful when they are broken in. Once the footbed/cork soften, it feels like pillows on your feet!
Ordered The ochre (golden yellow) and the taupe....LOVE THEM! Yes, the width says ânarrowâ on the outside of the box, unlike the description online, as some have complained about. They are not the wider shoe of the original Birkenstockâs of years ago, BUT, this only makes them less clunky and more attractive looking, not uncomfortable, if you have medium width feet. If your feet are very wide and you typically buy a wider shoe (you usually order âwâ wide; not ârâ regular width), then these may be too narrow for your foot. Both colors are great! I wasnât sure if Iâd like the yellow (ochre) color, as I usually avoid yellows in clothing, as they donât look great on me, but I love the yellow! It is more of a golden yellow than a true yellow. The taupe is a great all around neutral. Iâm thinking the yellow will prove to be a neutral as well.I just got them, so I adjusted the straps and will wear them around the house, to break them in. The suede straps will stretch more than the ones with leather straps (I also ordered one pair of these), so I will tighten the straps on the suede pairs 3 holes in from the right outside, and the leather straps 2 holes in from the right outside. Iâm thinking if I tightened the leather straps to the 3rd hole, I may get some blisters until they are broken in. If the leather straps loosen too much over time (I doubt they will), I can always tighten them 1 hole in. These live up to the world class Birkenstock name. Plus the gold finish makes the whole place shimmer⌠until they donât :(Disappointed after 6 months of owning & wearing, the gold/Copper is worn & scratched along with the buckles are turning up. I have only worn these as daily house shoes and in the car. While the comfort is amazing, I hoped the âpretty shimmerâ factor would last too.
Sad these have to get returned. Iâm a huge Birk lover and have 5 pairs. I wanted a new black slide. This new leather is rough and painful. Itâs not the old soft leather that doesnât need much breaking in. I bought a second pair in hopes I just got a bogus pair but they both are stiff and rough so both have to get returned. Bummer but hopefully they change it back to the old style!
The sandals arrived in a completely torn apart box, though the actual sandals appear to be fine. They were a gift for our teenage girl so it's kind of janky to have such a destroyed box - they're all into unboxing videos now (yeah, that's totally silly but whatever). I tried to tape it back together but it was hopeless. for $140 I think it would have been nice to have the item in a new box. If these were a returned item, it would be nice to not have been charged $140.
